121: Chapter 121 Coming to Send Wang Dachui to His Death
As the anchor of the Formation, Thunder God spread his arms, gathering the strength of everyone, and used his magnetic field ability to forcibly manipulate the geomagnetic field within a ten-mile radius.
"Magnetic Storm: Thunder Prison!"
Zzzzt— A massive web made of high-voltage purple electricity directly shrouded the top of the quicksand vortex. The currents flowing through the web were enough to instantly vaporize steel, sealing the entire entrance completely!
On the other side, the long sword on Ling Xiao's back unsheathed itself, and he stood there like a peerlessly sharp divine weapon.
Behind him, the thirty-six Dragon Soul Guards, each carrying a long sword, formed a sword array. Their Sword Qi soared into the sky, merging seamlessly with Ling Xiao's aura.
He hovered silently in mid-air, gathering the edge of the entire sword array, while an unsettling, invisible Sword Intent locked tightly onto every inch of space underground.
"Sword Domain: Suppress!"
With his low shout, the air within a five-mile radius seemed to solidify. Any creature attempting to burrow out from underground would be instantly shredded into dust by this invisible Sword Intent.
Director Zhao Gang led the special ability task force to guard several potential underground river exits, waiting in battle Formation.
"Thanks to Wang Dachui this time, we finally found this disgusting nest, and the Abyss Cult Leader isn't even here! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"
"Hit them with everything you've got! Erase this tumor from the map for me!" General Lei Zhan's roar echoed over the desert, filled with the joy of revenge.
…Finally, they reached the mountaintop.
The main building complex of the Cloud Top Palace was right before their eyes.
The massive plaza was deserted, save for a few streetlights emitting a dim, yellow glow that cast long, twisted shadows of the surrounding ancient trees and buildings.
The main door was left slightly ajar, with a sliver of light spilling out, and one could even faintly hear the sound of steady breathing from within.
Everything seemed so quiet, peaceful, and defenseless.
Li Wuya hovered in mid-air, looking down at the palace from above as his powerful Mental Energy spread out like a tide, instantly sweeping across the entire courtyard.
"No hidden sentries, no Formation fluctuations."
"Apart from that breathing sound inside, there are only two birds still sleeping in the tree nearby."
"Hehe… Wang Dachui, you are truly confident."
The red light in Li Wuya's eyes flared intensely; the thrill of about to slaughter his prey made his blood boil.
"Where is Nightingale?" he asked in a low voice.
As soon as he finished speaking, a petite figure walked out from the shadows of the West Wing Room. She was wearing a maid outfit, her head lowered, appearing exceptionally submissive.
"Cult Leader…" Nightingale walked up to Li Wuya and knelt on one knee. Her voice trembled, seemingly out of fear or perhaps excitement:
"Your subordinate has not failed the mission."
"Nalan Ruo has taken the spirit-dissipating powder and is currently asleep in the master bedroom."
"That S-rank Mental type, Ji Taimei, has also fallen asleep; I added something to her incense just now."
"Wang Dachui is in the living room, completely defenseless."
"The entire Cloud Top Palace… is now an empty city!"
Li Wuya looked down at the woman kneeling at his feet, a flicker of satisfaction in his eyes, but it was mostly the playfulness of a cat playing with a mouse.
"Well done." He reached out, seemingly to help Nightingale up, but his fingers actually curled into claws, and a cold, corrosive burst of Qi instantly locked onto her throat.
"However… I am quite curious."
Li Wuya's fingers hovered an inch from Nightingale's fragile neck, his voice suddenly turning cold:
"Why is the aura of the poison arts on you… so much weaker? Even your Origin seems somewhat dissipated?"
Nightingale's body stiffened abruptly, her heart pounding wildly. Damn it! The perception of an SS-rank powerhouse is too sharp!
"Your… your subordinate had to use Origin blood essence to catalyze the medicine in order to poison them, so as not to be discovered by that Nalan Ruo…" Nightingale buried her head even lower, her voice carrying a sobbing tone, intentionally making her body tremble even more.
"Oh? Is that so?"
Li Wuya narrowed his eyes, his snake-like gaze scanning Nightingale up and down. Although Nightingale's explanation was reasonable, he was naturally suspicious by nature and would never easily trust anyone.
"In that case…"
Li Wuya flipped his wrist, and a black chain appeared out of thin air, instantly wrapping around Nightingale's waist and lifting her up.
"Then you'll have to suffer a little and scout the path for me."
"Cult Leader?!" Nightingale looked up in terror.
"Shut up," Li Wuya said coldly. "If you aren't lying, you have made a great contribution this time, and I will surely protect you. If you dare to deceive me… this will be your gallows."
After saying this, he looked at the Shadow Kill Squad behind him and waved his hand:
"Spread out! Surround the main house! If there are any changes, kill without mercy!"
"Yes!"
Dozens of black shadows instantly scattered, clinging to the walls and shadows like geckos, surrounding the main house completely.
Li Wuya, holding Nightingale in one hand like a human shield, slowly floated toward the slightly ajar door.
Ten meters.
Five meters.
Three meters.
When he was only one step away from the door, Li Wuya suddenly stopped. His Mental Energy erupted again, piercing into the house like a drill, probing repeatedly. It was still that steady breathing sound, and still no fluctuations of any traps.
"It seems… it is true."
The sneer on Li Wuya's face widened, but he still did not let go of Nightingale.
"Open the door," he commanded.
Nightingale trembling, reached out and pushed open the thick mahogany door.
"Creeeak—" The sound of the door hinges turning was exceptionally jarring in the silent night. The door opened.
The light inside was dim, and a man was lying on the sofa, sleeping with his back to the door.
"Wang Dachui…"
The killing intent in Li Wuya's eyes instantly surged. He violently pushed Nightingale forward and followed closely behind, like a bolt of black lightning, rushing into the house!
"Your death date has arrived!"
"Wang Dachui, I… am here to send you to your grave."
The cold voice seemed to come from the Nine Nether Hell, carrying a chill that made the Soul tremble, instantly filling the entire main hall. Black mist churned, and the figure of the Abyss Cult Leader, Li Wuya, slowly emerged.
He did not skulk about like an ordinary assassin, but instead hovered three inches above the ground, his black robe rustling. The pressure of an SS-rank powerhouse, like a tangible mountain, instantly locked onto the seemingly defenseless man on the sofa.
In his hand, a pitch-black chain was tightly strangling Nightingale's neck, dragging her across the floor like a ragdoll. Nightingale's face was pale, and she was struggling to breathe, clearly having her Meridians sealed and devoid of any power to resist.
"Sleeping quite soundly, aren't you?"
Li Wuya looked at Wang Dachui, who was facing away from him on the sofa, a cruel arc curling at the corner of his mouth:
"Pity, if this turns into an eternal slumber, that would be a tragedy."
He slowly raised his right hand, and a pitch-black energy ball, as if it could devour light, instantly condensed on his withered palm. The surrounding space twisted slightly due to this terrifying energy, emitting a groan of being unable to bear the burden.
"Abyss Unique Skill: Soul-Absorbing Demon Hand!"
