132: Chapter 132 The Dean's Doubts

Beijing, Nanyuan Top-Secret Military Airport.

In the deep autumn of Beijing, the wind already carried a biting chill, and withered yellow leaves swirled on the runway.

The entire airport was under the highest level of martial Law; with guards stationed every three steps and sentries every five, armed guards had surrounded the place like an iron barrel.

Not far away, several black Hongqi sedans with special passes had already parked, their exhaust pipes emitting faint white smoke.

Director Zhao Gang was wearing a thick military overcoat, pacing back and forth in the cold wind, occasionally lifting his hand to check his watch, his expression a mix of anxiety and undisguised anticipation.

"They're here!"

Following a low exclamation, a dull roar came from the sky.

A massive Kunpeng transport plane, escorted by fighter jets, broke through the clouds and landed steadily on the runway.

The cabin door opened, and that familiar figure appeared in Director Zhao Gang's line of sight once again.

Wang Dachui was wearing a leather jacket made from the hide of some unfortunate Advanced exotic beast, and in his arms, he held a chubby, jade-like baby, wrapped up tightly.

Behind him followed a youth like an Iron Tower—Wang Zhentian.

This kid was carrying that exaggerated alloy totem pole on his back; even in the cold Beijing wind, he only wore a thin vest, his whole body steaming with heat, like a walking little furnace.

"Dachui! Over here!"

Director Zhao Gang hurried to meet them, but his gaze didn't land on his old comrade first; instead, he stared intently at the small swaddle in Wang Dachui's arms.

"Is this… the child?"

Director Zhao Gang's voice trembled with excitement.

"Shh—keep it down, she just woke up and is a bit grumpy."

Wang Dachui made a shushing gesture and gently lifted a corner of the swaddle.

A small, white, tender hand reached out and rubbed sleepy eyes.

Immediately after, a pair of large, clear, emerald-green eyes like top-grade jade were revealed, curiously examining this strange world and the scruffy weird uncle in front of her.

When those eyes looked at Director Zhao Gang, he felt a tremor in his heart.

That wasn't the ignorant gaze of an infant, but a clarity full of spirituality, as if it could see through a person's heart.

In that instant, he felt that the migraine he had accumulated over the past few days due to anxiety had miraculously eased.

"Amazing… truly amazing…" Director Zhao Gang muttered to himself.

"Hello, Uncle Zhao."

A tender yet clear Mental Energy fluctuation resonated directly in Director Zhao Gang's mind.

Director Zhao Gang was startled, his eyes widening: "She… she's talking to me? Using Mental Energy?"

"That's right, although my daughter's vocal cords haven't developed yet, her Mental Energy has been influenced by her fourth mother, so she can communicate without any obstacles." Wang Dachui said with a smug look.

"Alright, stop blowing in the cold wind here, the child can't take it." Wang Dachui tightened the swaddle. "Where's the car? Let's get to the hospital quickly, saving lives is like fighting a fire."

"Right, right, right! Get in the car! Let's go immediately!"

301 General Hospital, Special Intensive Care Unit.

The air here was filled with a high concentration of disinfectant and a deathly silence that was suppressed to the extreme.

The corridor was filled with top experts in white coats, as well as several military bigwigs with stars on their shoulders. Their expressions were grim, and their eyes revealed a deep sense of powerlessness.

"Director Zhao, are you really going to pin your hopes on a… a child who has just turned one month old?"

The person speaking was the Dean of 301 Hospital, a titan in the domestic life sciences field, Minister Li Jishi. He looked at the one big and two small people Director Zhao Gang brought in, his brows furrowed tightly.

"Minister Li Jishi, I know you don't really believe it." Director Zhao Gang said in a deep voice. "However, every one of Comrade Wang Dachui's children is Divine-Grade; we have sufficient reasons to believe him."

"And we have no other options right now; the vital signs of Wind God Xu Changfeng and Grandmaster Zheng Kaishan are all below the warning line. If we don't try, how many more days can they last?"

Minister Li Jishi opened his mouth, but it eventually turned into a long sigh: "One month at most… the speed of organ failure is even faster than we imagined. The Law toxin left by the Abyss Beast Emperor is too overbearing; our medicine simply can't get in."

"Then let my daughter try."

Wang Dachui strode forward, ignoring the questioning gazes around him.

He knew the nature of these experts too well; explaining to them was useless, he had to let facts speak.

"Which room? Lead the way."

Minister Li Jishi hesitated for a moment, then opened the door to the innermost fully enclosed sterile ward.

"Please come in… but please be careful, do not touch any instruments."

Inside the ward, two huge life-support pods stood side by side, with two broken bodies floating inside.

On the left was Grandmaster Zheng Kaishan; almost all the bones in his body were shattered into powder, and his skin presented an eerie grayish-defeat color—the traces of erosion by Abyss Qi.

On the right was Wind God Xu Changfeng; he looked intact on the outside, but his eyes were tightly closed, his expression pained, as if struggling in a nightmare. His Soul fire was already weak to the extreme and could extinguish at any moment.

"Dad, it's so uncomfortable here."

As soon as Wang Zhentian entered the room, he frowned and covered his nose: "There's a stench, like rotting meat."

"That is Death Qi." Wang Dachui patted his son's shoulder. "You guard the door; don't let anyone come in to disturb us."

"Okay!" Wang Zhentian placed the totem pole horizontally at the door and stood firm like a door god. His size and Aura made the few young doctors who originally wanted to follow inside retreat in fear.

Wang Dachui held The Fourth and walked to the front of Grandmaster Zheng Kaishan's life-support pod.

"Daughter, wake up, it's time to work."

Wang Dachui gently shook the little one in his arms.

The Fourth opened her eyes; it was her first time seeing such tragic injuries.

In her field of vision, Grandmaster Zheng Kaishan's body was like a building on the verge of collapse, filled with holes everywhere, with black flames burning away his life force.

"Pain… Grandpa is in so much pain…"

The Fourth's little mouth pouted, and her large eyes instantly filled with tears. She was a child of nature and felt the pain of life empathetically.

"Don't be afraid, The Fourth will help Grandpa blow it away."

Wang Dachui encouraged her and opened the observation window of the life-support pod.

The Fourth stretched out her tender little hand, not touching Grandmaster Zheng Kaishan's body directly, but hovering above his chest.

"Hum—"

A not-blinding, yet extremely warm and moist emerald-green light bloomed from her little hand.

At this moment, all the monitoring instruments in the entire ICU ward suddenly started jumping wildly!

"Beep, beep, beep! Unknown high-energy reaction detected!"

"Vital signs fluctuating abnormally! Heart rate is recovering! Blood pressure… blood pressure is also recovering!"

Minister Li Jishi and the experts watching this scene in the monitoring room almost had their eyeballs pop out.

They saw that cluster of green light, like a living stream of water, slowly infiltrating Grandmaster Zheng Kaishan's body.

Those Abyss black Qi that occupied the wounds and could not be dispelled even by S-rank purification agents, upon encountering this green light, actually seemed like accumulated snow meeting boiling water, emitting a "sizzling" sound, and then… dissolved!
