31: All-domain mobility leads the development direction of the world's army!

After returning from Changhe Automobile Factory, Factory Director Gu began preparing for mergers and debt resolution.

Because the country now encourages profitable state-owned factories to merge with those on the brink of collapse, the approval documents from the competent authorities were quickly passed.

The Changhe Automobile Factory was officially merged into the renamed Changhe Weapon Industry Group.

After Peng Lin completed the establishment of the Weapon Science Research Institute within the General Factory, he officially began the research and development of military protected assault vehicles.

The vehicle that could maximize the characteristics and combat power of a combined arms battalion was naturally the Mengshi Protected Assault Vehicle of later generations, also known as the high-mobility wheeled tactical vehicle platform.

First, Peng Lin focused his attention internationally.

He found that currently, whether it was the USA or the Soviet Union, their vision and thinking were still very limited.

Although both sides were engaged in a large-scale arms race, their military infantry vehicles were all centered around traditional armored personnel carriers or light jeeps.

The modular, multi-task, and all-domain combat concept represented by the "mengshi" was still in the exploratory stage.

For example, although the Soviet Union had mass-produced approximately 25,000 wheeled armored personnel carriers, it was very lacking in technological innovation.

The purpose of its wheeled armored personnel carriers was still the "single function" of transporting troops.

Fundamentally, it lacked the concept of "all-domain combat."

Currently, almost all countries in the world face two difficult choices.

One, wheeled armored personnel carriers emphasize armor protection and transport capacity, and cannot be adapted for multiple tasks.

Two, jeeps have significant problems such as narrow bodies, insufficient power, high rollover risk, and no armor protection.

"Since the USA and the Soviet Union still have no concept of 'all-domain combat' for the Army,"

"Then let Dragon Country lead the development direction of the world's Army."

"Developing the Mengshi Protected Assault Vehicle, a high-mobility wheeled tactical vehicle platform, is absolutely the best choice!"

Peng Lin had an idea.

The Mengshi Protected Assault Vehicle is a high-mobility wheeled tactical vehicle platform.

It is also often referred to as a "vehicle family platform."

As the core equipment of light high-mobility units, it undertakes tasks such as rapid penetration, reconnaissance, and fire support.

It completely replaces the functions of traditional jeeps and wheeled armored personnel carriers.

Through the common chassis of a vehicle like the "mengshi," modular technology can be used to expand into more than 30 variants.

These cover multiple tasks such as command, firepower, and logistics.

Although Dragon Country does not need more than 30 variants at present, the "mengshi" type of modular high-mobility wheeled tactical vehicle platform can also meet the various needs of the Army.

It truly achieves "one vehicle, multiple capabilities," reducing equipment procurement and maintenance costs.

Moreover, as a protected assault vehicle far ahead of the USA and the Soviet Union, the "mengshi" can also be exported in large quantities to foreign countries after it is produced.

The world is not peaceful now, with wars everywhere.

International arms trade is definitely the most profitable business.

With a research and development direction, Peng Lin began to check the system.

Last time, through the development of the "sickle" suicide drone, he gained another 200 research points.

Currently, Peng Lin already has 700 research points.

Then, he created a new research project within the system.

"Project Name: 'mengshi' High-Mobility Wheeled Tactical Vehicle Platform"

"Difficulty Assessment: C"

"Task Progress: 0%"

"Task Reward: 500 Research Points"

"The 'mengshi' actually reached C-level difficulty?"

Peng Lin was stunned when he saw the difficulty assessment given by the system.

But after thinking that this was a "vehicle family platform," he understood the key.

If he only wanted to develop the Mengshi Protected Assault Vehicle, then in the system's rating, it might only be D-level difficulty.

Because this is just developing a single vehicle.

But as a high-mobility wheeled tactical vehicle platform, it means that the "mengshi" must adopt a modular design.

In addition to developing the protected assault vehicle, Peng Lin also had to consider the adaptability of other task vehicles and modular components.

These all need to be developed simultaneously.

"Since I'm going to develop the 'mengshi' anyway, I might as well develop the Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle at the same time."

"After all, there are many compatible technologies between the two."

Peng Lin had a new idea.

The Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle is also a light, high-mobility platform.

Compared to the Mengshi Protected Assault Vehicle, its size is even more like a mini toy car for children.

Because the Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle has no protective capabilities whatsoever.

Aside from the wheels, chassis, and a frame, there is nothing else.

Compared to the protective capabilities of traditional armored personnel carriers, the Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle is indeed incomparable.

Any random shell could easily destroy it.

Its only advantage might be that it is incredibly cheaper to build than those armored vehicles.

If the Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle were to be shown to the International Community or any country now, they would probably laugh their heads off.

However, this is the limitation of thought and perception in this era.

Because you absolutely cannot treat the Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle as an armored personnel carrier.

You have to treat it as light infantry.

That is, a "person."

The Lynx has an 8-wheel independent drive system, where each wheel can steer and output power independently.

Coupled with a rigid suspension design, it can traverse various extreme terrains like 35-degree slopes, 1.2-meter trenches, and swamps as if on flat ground.

In terms of all-terrain driving capability, it is stronger than any other vehicle.

It even has an integrated propeller propulsion system at the rear, allowing the Lynx to travel on seas, rivers, and lakes.

It can be said that it can go anywhere infantry can go.

And it can go places infantry cannot reach.

However, in terms of weapon payload, the Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle can carry a variety of weapon modules such as squad heavy machine guns, new Sniper Grenades, 120mm mortars, Individual Thermobaric Weapons, and more.

It can even carry Peng Lin's latest developed "sickle" suicide drone.

It can complete the switching of firepower configurations within minutes.

Then, one might ask, which country's light infantry, whether from the USA or the Soviet Union, can carry a 120mm mortar, a squad heavy machine gun, an Individual Thermobaric Weapon, and a suicide drone, and then fight at a mobile speed of over 80 kilometers per hour?

But, as a "single soldier" or "light infantry" cat car, it can!

To some extent, the Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle can even be regarded as an exoskeleton power armor.

The difference is that with exoskeleton power armor, you need to wear it.

Then, relying on the power it provides, you carry a large amount of heavy firepower weapons and achieve super-high mobility.

Whereas with the Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle, you simply drive it and possess these capabilities.

"The Lynx All-Terrain Assault Vehicle is absolutely an invincible presence in individual combat."

Peng Lin thought silently.

Imagine a Dragon Country soldier marching at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

Then, he uses a heavy machine gun, 120mm mortar, Individual Thermobaric Weapon, suicide drone, and Sniper Grenade to fight you while running.

What would you do?
