287: Alliance under the dark clouds

Just as Lin Feng and Piao Jinhao's team was about to depart, a communication from the Forest Fairy Race came through again. This time, the tone of their intelligence officer carried a hint of excitement and urgency: "Friends of the Human Race, good news! We have successfully contacted the 'Crystal Sprites' and the 'Light Feather Race'. They are also extremely disturbed by the appearance of the Undead Race and are willing to form a temporary defensive alliance. They have each dispatched an elite team and are currently en route to rendezvous, expected to arrive near your star system in six hours."

Inside the command center, everyone's spirits lifted. Allies! This was excellent; at a time like this, any external aid was a godsend!

"What are their specific strengths? Do they have any special abilities?" Chu Yixing immediately pressed for details.

"The Crystal Sprites excel at constructing crystal barriers, which are extremely strong defensively, and their crystal energy has a certain purifying effect on the Undead. The Light Feather Race are natural affinities of light elements; their attacks carry a strong holy attribute, making them the bane of the Undead. Each team consists of approximately twenty members, led by a captain of leader-level strength."

"That's great!" Yu Yue couldn't help but pump his fist. "With them, our defensive pressure will be much lighter."

Chu Yixing also breathed a slight sigh of relief, but did not let down his guard: "Thank you for your efforts. Please inform our allies that upon arrival, they should first establish a secure communication channel with us; we need to coordinate actions uniformly. Additionally, we are currently executing an 'induction' plan that might attract the attention of the Undead bone ark; please ask them to be prepared."

After hanging up the communication, Chu Yixing looked at the team members about to depart: "Did you all hear that? We have reinforcements. But this doesn't mean we can let our guard down. The induction plan proceeds as usual, and it must succeed. Only by luring the main force of the Undead to the volcanic island can we, along with our allies, concentrate our forces to deal with small enemy groups that might split off, and even have a chance to strike at the bone ark's home base."

His gaze swept over everyone, finally landing on Lin Feng and Piao Jinhao: "Move out!"

The two teams, like arrows shot from a bow, silently disappeared into the darkness of the starry background.

Through long-range observation spells, they could see that the massive bone ark, like a shark smelling blood, was slowly adjusting its suffocating body, turning towards Lava Fire Demon Island, which was now rendered even more "vibrant" and "death-shrouded" by the power of Flame Core and Ling.

"Induction successful, the bone ark has changed course, expected to make contact with Lava Fire Demon Island in eight hours," Zhou Chen's voice carried a hint of excitement.

A suppressed cheer erupted in the command center; they had succeeded in this first step.

However, Xu Bai's brows remained tightly furrowed: "Don't celebrate too early. The Undead have only been lured away, but that doesn't mean they'll ignore us. Moreover, how long the chaos on Lava Fire Demon Island can delay them is an unknown. More importantly..."

He brought up a recently analyzed energy reading spectrum from within the bone ark, which showed an extremely subtle but terrifyingly high-level energy source.

"...There's probably a real 'big guy' on this ark that hasn't shown itself yet."

The slightly relaxed atmosphere solidified once more.

Chu Yixing took a deep breath, looking at the distant volcanic island gradually enveloped by a green glow of death, his eyes cold.

"Notify all units to seize these precious eight hours: rest, adjust, and reinforce fortifications. The real test is yet to come."

"Additionally, tell our new allies that the plan has changed; the rendezvous point is now the flank of Blue Star Island. We need their assistance in constructing a second defensive line against the Undead."

The strategy of 'driving a tiger to devour a wolf' had succeeded, but after a full meal, would the driven tiger turn back to devour the driver as well?

Under the night sky of Blue Star Island, the countdown to death and survival continued to tick.

The bone ark, like a skeletal whale scenting carrion, steered unswervingly towards Lava Fire Demon Island.

Its colossal body cast a suffocating shadow in the star sea, and a dark green death force field spread like a plague; wherever it passed, even floating meteorites seemed to lose their luster, becoming dull and brittle.

On Blue Star Island, the atmosphere of tense preparation was almost palpable.

Every minute and every second of the eight precious hours was utilized to the fullest.

"Faster, faster! Get the last batch of 'Holy Light Grenades' to Defense Tower Three!" Iron Claw's mechanical arm waved, his voice distorted through his mask. His engineering team worked almost non-stop, producing various temporary anti-Undead weapons as if they were free, distributing them to all defense lines.

These explosives, inscribed with simple runes and filled with light-element crystal powder, though crude, emitted a faint sacred aura that brought a sense of peace in this star system shrouded in death.

Stone Startling Heaven and Horn's warrior and knight corps completed the defense line handover and coordinated deployment. Earth power and holy light power intertwined at the island's edge, forming a composite defense line that combined physical defense with energy purification. Aljie even led the knights in a small blessing ceremony; although it couldn't completely dispel the gloom, the pure holy light significantly eased the tense nerves of the defenders.

Inside the command center, Chu Yixing, Xu Bai, Yu Yue, and others were holding an urgent tactical meeting with the newly arrived allies.

Through a magical projection, the leaders of the two new allies were clearly visible.

One was the Crystal Speaker, Elara, from the "Crystal Sprites." She was tall and slender, as if carved from pure crystal, with a gentle yet resilient energy glow flowing around her. Her voice was as clear as wind chimes but carried an undeniable firmness: "Friends of the Human Race, thank you for your early warning and intelligence sharing. We, the 'Crystal Sprites,' excel at constructing 'Prismatic Barriers,' which can greatly weaken the impact of Undead energy and have a continuous purifying effect on lower-tier Undead. My team can set up three medium-sized crystal barrier towers at key nodes on the periphery of your island, forming a linked defense."

The other was the Luminous Emissary, Kael, from the "Light Feather Race." He bore wings condensed from pure light energy, and his entire being was like a small sun, radiating warm and intense light. His tone was decisive: "The Undead are the mortal enemies of Light. Our warriors' light feather arrows and luminous impacts can effectively purify these defiling abominations. We will act as a mobile strike force, prioritizing the elimination of high-tier enemy units, especially those repulsive 'Banshees.'"
