51: Break through the formation!

The soft and bright Moonlight Power instantly surged, no longer a hazy veil, but transforming into a colossal, pure light pillar, condensed and tangible like a silver waterfall cascading from the heavens, striking with pinpoint accuracy the rapidly spinning dark-red core in the Rock Giant's chest.

A huge black damage number slowly rose above the Rock Giant's head.

Hiss—!

Like a scorching branding iron plunged into ice water, a harsh, corrosive sound suddenly erupted. Intense dark-red light clashed fiercely with the pure Moonlight Power.

The spinning core seemed to be thrown into thick glue; its rotation speed visibly slowed, and the dark-red light on its surface dimmed, flickering erratically.

The Rock Giant let out a painful roar that shook the entire plaza, its massive body swayed violently, and its giant foot, poised to stomp down, froze mid-air. The countless rocks forming its body groaned and grated under the immense strain.

"Fissure, Devour!" Xu Bai had been waiting for this moment. A brilliant Ghost Light flashed in his eyes as he raised the staff in his right hand and pressed it firmly onto the void pact. The pages frantically flipped, finally settling on an illustration depicting an endless abyss with a gaping maw.

He poured all his energy into it without reservation. Below the Rock Giant's chest, directly beneath the dim core that was being suppressed by the Moonlight Power, space suddenly collapsed inward and tore open. A long, narrow, dark fissure, with distorted edges and emanating an aura of absolute nothingness and icy devouring intent, silently opened its maw.

At the same time, the colossal light sword above Chu Yixing’s head, condensed from several sword qi, also fiercely slashed towards the Rock Giant's dimmed core.

...Losing the support of its core energy and having its regeneration suppressed by the Moonlight Power, the few spinning runestones in the Rock Giant's chest could no longer sustain its terrifying body.

The countless boulders and gravel that made up its massive body, as if all their binding agents and vitality had been instantly drained, began to disintegrate like an avalanche.

Huge rock chunks, shattered runestones, dark-red molten residue... as if caught in an invisible vortex, they fell scattered into the profound dark fissure, completely devoured by the pure void, leaving no trace.

The moment the last core fragment, burning with a faint red glow, vanished at the edge of the fissure, the dark wound tearing through space instantly closed as if it had never appeared, leaving only a faint, almost imperceptible yet chilling aftertaste in the air.

The deafening roar of collapse finally ceased, leaving only the lingering echoes of rolling and colliding rocks in the plaza. Thick smoke and dust slowly settled like a heavy curtain. The once towering and majestic megalithic array, imbued with terrifying power, was now a desolate ruin.

Broken giant pillars lay scattered and toppled, shattered boulders spread across the ancient stone slab ground, and the previously glowing emerald carvings were now completely dim, embedded in the cold stones, as if the thrilling battle just now had been nothing more than a dream for everyone.

The the five people stood in the center of the ruins, their clothes dusty, their breaths slightly hurried.

Ji Linghan leaned on his war hammer, his chest heaving violently, his body steaming with sweat and the scorched scent of a lightning strike.

Yu Yue slowly lowered his giant shield; the golden glow of the light wall barrier had long since receded, and the heavy shield's edges were covered in rock debris.

Chu Yixing relaxed his grip on the green lotus sword; a few cuts from flying gravel marred his cheeks, but his eyes remained clear and sharp, scanning the surroundings vigilantly.

Xu Bai closed the heavy void pact; the mental strain from summoning the abyssal fissure had left his face slightly pale.

Only Han Ruoxue's hand, holding the moon-white stone, remained steady. Her moon-white robe was spotless amidst the swirling dust, but her gaze towards the depths of the ruins carried an indescribable solemnity.

The plaza was dead silent. Only the wind whistling through the cracks in the stones made a faint whimper, much like the lament of lost souls.

"Let's rest here before moving on. Han Ruoxue, please keep an eye on our surroundings."

Chu Yixing looked at everyone's condition and spoke. Upon hearing him, everyone immediately sat down, closed their eyes, and began to quickly recover their energy and spirit.

Han Ruoxue simply calmly took out a blue potion to replenish her energy, then found a relatively intact boulder not far from the others, sat down, and scanned her surroundings.

Suddenly, Han Ruoxue's gaze sharpened. Deep in the crevices of several large, broken stone slabs, on the ancient ground that hadn't been completely buried, she saw a small patch of peculiar carvings.

These carvings were not the green-glowing runes seen on the previous megaliths, but an older, simpler set of lines.

The deep, parallel grooves looked as if a huge, sharp object had scraped across the earth, pointing towards a distant direction beyond the ruins.

At the end of the lines, there seemed to be a blurred, indistinct, twisted symbol, almost unrecognizable due to erosion by wind, sand, and time.

Han Ruoxue stared for a while. Hearing movement behind her, she turned to see Chu Yixing awake, then gestured to him before walking to the carvings and recording them.

"Let's go." About half an hour later, Chu Yixing's voice broke the silence in the plaza. He was the first to step forward, walking over the fallen gravel towards the exit at the other end of the plaza, the temple's main gate.

The other four people nodded, stood up, and silently followed, with only the faint, clear sounds of their shoes crunching on the gravel echoing through this utterly destroyed megalithic maze, making the space feel exceptionally vast.

The the five people crossed the plaza and stood beneath the towering temple. Looking at the massive door before them, they took a deep breath.

The colossal door, forged from bronze, was as heavy as a mountain. Its surface was covered with unidentifiable symbols and totems, and the mottled rust on the door, like congealed blood, seemed to recount the ancient era's lament.

The door was ajar, revealing a narrow and deep crack, like the slightly open mouth of a giant beast, from which emanated an icy coldness more biting than the chill of a mountaintop. This aura, like an invisible hand, seemed to choke one's throat, silently warning all intruders who dared to peek.

Yu Yue gestured to the other four people. After receiving an affirmative reply, he took a deep breath, tightened his grip on his giant shield, stepped forward two paces, and forcefully pushed open the unsettling main door before him.

As the door slowly opened, the icy coldness grew thicker, rushing towards the the five people. They immediately felt the surrounding temperature plummet, the chill piercing through their clothes like needles, almost reaching their bones.

Beyond the door was complete darkness; the scene within was impossible to discern.

Yu Yue held his breath and stepped into the unknown world behind that door, followed closely by the other four people.

The the five people's figures gradually disappeared into the darkness beyond the door.
