247: Fuck the trivial things

Zong Gu’s expression was incredibly excited. The reason he was confident he could successfully achieve the Immortal Emperor Dao within a million years was because he had stumbled upon a supreme treasure by chance during his exploration of an ancient ruin.

This supreme treasure was a small, three-legged cauldron containing a vast amount of pure Five Elements Origin Qi.

It was by relying on this Five Elements Origin Qi that his Physical Body broke through the Immortal King Perfection.

If he could refine all the Five Elements Origin Qi within the small cauldron, it would surely help him break through the shackles of life in one fell swoop and become an Immortal Emperor who wielded the power of the Five Elements Dao.

Thinking of this, Zong Gu couldn’t help but feel excited. This small cauldron, containing the Five Elements Origin Qi, was his greatest secret, one that even his most respected Revered Master, Deputy Palace Lord Duan Hong, did not know.

“Hmph! Once I lie dormant for another million years, I will surely shock all of you!”

“By then, what Wu Clan Dao Child, what Jueshi Ranking Prodigy, all of them will be trampled under my feet!”

Zong Gu revealed a confident smile, his beautiful aspirations for the future making him feel a little lightheaded for a moment.

Meanwhile, at Lan Yue Palace.

In the courtyard, Wu Ning lay lazily on an ancient wooden chair, browsing through some strange tales and oddities that had occurred in the Myriad Realms in the past, holding Ink Treasure.

Suddenly, a Disciple reported that an Immortal Emperor expert, who claimed to be Luo Heng, wished to visit him.

Wu Ning waved his hand casually, “Let him in.”

“Yes!”

The reporting Disciple respectfully withdrew and, not long after, returned with a middle-aged man who possessed a majestic Aura and a burly physique.

“I am Luo Heng, greetings, Dao Child!”

Luo Heng bowed, his posture extremely humble.

“Why have you come?”

Wu Ning softly hummed in acknowledgment and asked casually.

Luo Heng’s body immediately bent even lower. He said in a deep voice, “I am the Second City Lord of Looking Sky Ancient City in Burial God Immortal Realm. My son, Luo Jin, was blind and offended the Dao Child. I have come specifically to apologize to the Dao Child.”

“Oh?”

Wu Ning immediately recalled who Luo Jin was after a moment’s thought; he was merely a scion he had encountered in the Burial God Abyss back then.

He had wanted to snatch the Burial God Flower from him, but Wu Ning had casually crushed him to death and hadn’t given it a second thought.

“If I recall correctly, your son seems to have been killed by me. Don’t you want to avenge him?”

Wu Ning asked with a half-smile.

“I wouldn’t dare!”

Luo Heng quickly replied, “My son was arrogant and ignorant, daring to offend the Dao Child. He deserved to die. I only hope the Dao Child will not implicate Looking Sky Ancient City because of him.”

Initially, upon learning that Luo Jin had been killed, he was indeed furious, wishing he could brutally torture the murderer to death to avenge Luo Jin.

However, according to the clues later discovered, the murderer turned out to be the Wu Clan Dao Child. He immediately wilted and extinguished any thoughts of avenging Luo Jin.

He was not an impulsive person; if he dared to make a move against the Wu Clan Dao Child, it would surely be a dead end.

He could have another son if one was lost, but if his own life was gone, everything would be gone.

Later, when the story of Wu Ning slaying an Immortal Emperor at a thousand years old spread, his formidable reputation echoed throughout the Taichu Ancient Realm, demonstrating his unparalleled terrifying talent, strength, and ruthless methods.

Luo Heng began to feel worried, fearing that if Wu Ning were to return to the Burial God Abyss in the future, he might remember what happened back then and cause trouble for Looking Sky Ancient City.

After all, from various rumors, Wu Ning did not seem to be a magnanimous person.

It was with this mindset that he took advantage of this Opportunity to listen to the Dao and came to apologize to Wu Ning.

As for why he hadn’t gone to the Wu Clan before, he was naturally worried about not being able to leave. Now that he was in the Misty Immortal Abode, even if Wu Ning truly wanted to hold it against him, he felt that with his cultivation, he should still be able to retreat safely.

However, he was clearly overthinking; Wu Ning was too lazy to bother with him.

He had always appreciated such sensible people.

But if there was still even a hint of resentment in his heart, even if he were a Perfection Immortal Emperor, he would not be able to leave this courtyard today.

Wu Ning squinted his eyes slightly, gazed at him, then waved his hand and said, “Alright, let’s consider this matter closed.”

“As long as you don’t seek trouble for yourself, I naturally won’t fuss over a small matter.”

“Thank you, Dao Child!”

Luo Heng immediately felt a sense of relief, though his mood was also somewhat complex.

His own son had died, and he actually had to personally apologize to the other party—it was truly a frustrating matter!

But when one’s power was inferior, what could be done? There were far more frustrating things in the world than this.

He could only blame his son for being blind and provoking someone he shouldn’t have.

After Luo Heng left, a contemplative look appeared in Wu Ning’s eyes.

“Last time I went, I couldn’t enter the deepest part of the Burial God Abyss’s core. I wonder if there’s still danger with my current strength.”

“Xiao Hei, tell me in detail, what exactly is the great ominous entity in the deepest part of the Burial God Abyss’s core?”

“Revered Master, that is a very terrifying Evil Spirit, formed from the remnant thought of that Giant. Its strength is very strong, at least equivalent to a Great Perfection Dao Lord!”

“Although it has long been Sealed in the deepest part of the core by several powerful beings of the Taichu Ancient Realm working together, because the Burial God Abyss itself shares the same Origin as it, its power can Breakthrough the Seal and emanate outwards.”

“Below the Dao Lord realm, anyone who ventures into the deepest part of the core will inevitably be hunted by it. With your current strength, Revered Master, entering rashly would also pose a certain danger.”

Ink Treasure immediately replied.

“Evil Spirit, huh…”

Wu Ning murmured to himself. There were also such strange things in the Tianxu Ancient Land, so he wasn’t entirely unfamiliar.

It was just that this Evil Spirit’s strength was a bit too strong, equivalent to a Great Perfection Dao Lord…

“Revered Master, there’s actually nothing too valuable in the core of the Burial God Abyss. You don’t need to risk going in. It has already been scoured by your Wu Clan and other powerful beings from other super forces.”

“And it’s been scoured more than once. The truly valuable things have basically all been taken.”

Ink Treasure spoke again.

Wu Ning smiled noncommittally.

He didn’t want to enter there for treasure hunting; he just wanted to find a special sign-in location.

Even if there were no precious treasures left inside, it didn’t mean he couldn’t sign in for good things.

Last time, even just on the outskirts of the core, he signed in for a top-grade Dao Artifact, the zhu shen spear, and a primordial divine stone, which already proved the point.

If he could enter the deepest part of the core to sign in, the items he signed in for would definitely not be bad.

Having made up his mind, Wu Ning prepared to go immediately; after all, he was idle anyway.

With his current cultivation, it wouldn’t take much time to make a trip.

He was planning to go into seclusion to advance to Middle Perfection after returning to his clan, and accumulating more sign-in cultivation now would give him more confidence.

Although that Evil Spirit was strong, it was Sealed after all, so it wasn’t much of a threat. He wasn’t going there to fight it; he would leave immediately after signing in, so there was no need to meet it.

Moreover, he had many trump cards, enough to ensure his safety.
