60: Chapter 60 The Storm Is Brewing
Thousand Jun Douluo and Demon Subduing Douluo exchanged a glance, both seeing joy in each other's eyes.
Being able to recruit Poison Douluo meant that this trip to the Sunset Forest was a massive success, even if they hadn't obtained many Immortal Plants.
If a war with the Spirit Beasts were to break out in the future, Dugu Bo could just unleash a poison capable of slaughtering a city, and at worst, they would all perish together.
In fact, no one could guarantee whether they would be able to snatch the person back from that black dragon.
"It is a deal!"
Demon Subduing Douluo laughed heartily, stepped forward, and patted Dugu Bo on the shoulder. "From today on, you are one of us in Spirit Hall! Finding your grandson is on us!"
With the matter settled, there was no need for the group to stay any longer.
The empty Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well no longer held any value worth lingering over. Dugu Bo took one last look at the valley he had guarded for half his Life, then finally turned around, followed the others out of the valley, passed through the poison array that had already lost its power, and left the Sunset Forest.
On the way back, Thousand Jun Douluo had already used the secret techniques of Spirit Hall to transmit everything that happened in the Sunset Forest—along with the appearance of the black dragon and the matter of the Dragon Clan descendant—back to Spirit City without missing a single word.
He could almost imagine that the Elder Palace of Spirit Hall must already be in an uproar at this moment.
Meanwhile, far away in the core area of the Star Dou Great Forest, at the Life Lake.
In the center of the clear lake water, a young girl dressed in a silver-white long dress sat quietly.
Her appearance was peerless, her silver hair cascaded down, and her purple-gold pupils seemed to contain the entire starry sky. Surrounded by the majestic and vast Origin aura of the Dragon Clan, she was none other than the Silver Dragon King, Gu Yuena, who had awakened early.
Di Tian held the sleeping Dugu Long, knelt on one knee by the lake, and lowered his head respectfully. "Master, I have fulfilled my mission. I have found the descendant of our uncles, the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings, and brought him back to Star Dou."
Gu Yuena slowly opened her eyes, her purple-gold gaze falling upon Dugu Long. Feeling the two familiar Ice and Fire Origins within his body, a rare trace of softness appeared in her originally cold eyes.
She gently raised her hand, and a wave of soft silver dragon power covered Dugu Long's forehead, soothing the restless Ice and Fire power within him. The little guy's furrowed brows in his sleep slowly smoothed out.
"You have worked hard, Di Tian."
Gu Yuena's voice was soft, yet carried an unquestionable majesty. "Take good care of him. He is the future of the Dragon Clan and the hope of our revival."
She looked up towards the direction of the human World, and a flash of cold chill instantly passed through her purple-gold pupils.
Humans, Spirit Hall... She had been asleep for so long, and yet there was still the faith of the gods.
However, she was still heavily injured, and the Asura God Emperor inside her body was still eroding her wounds. It might take many years to remove it, unless this little Dragon King could grow up faster to help her remove the Asura divine force more quickly.
Meanwhile, far away in a carriage, Gui Mengguan suddenly shivered for no reason, and a strong sense of unease inexplicably arose in his heart.
He lifted the carriage curtain, looked in the direction of the Star Dou Great Forest, and his heart skipped a beat.
When the carriage drove into Spirit City, it was early morning.
The golden light of the morning sun shone on the towering main hall of Spirit Hall, the golden glazed tiles glistening. The entire city was shrouded in a solemn and majestic atmosphere.
Unlike the bustling atmosphere of Luo Ke City, Spirit Masters dressed in Spirit Hall attire could be seen everywhere here. Patrol knights rode scaled horses in neat formations, and the air was filled with the heavy sense of Soul Power fluctuations.
The group led by Thousand Jun and Demon Subduing headed quickly towards the Elder Palace. With solemn expressions, they bowed to the palace gate. "Big Brother, we have returned."
The palace gate opened slowly, and a figure dressed in a white robe with white hair and beard stepped out slowly.
His face was majestic, and there was no outward release of Soul Power around his body. Yet, just by standing there, he seemed to merge with heaven and earth. He was the High Priest of Spirit Hall, one of the three current Limit Douluo, Qian Daoliu.
His gaze first swept over the four children, pausing slightly on Alternative for an instant with a flash of gentleness in his eyes. It then fell on Dugu Bo, and finally settled on Thousand Jun and Demon Subduing. His voice was steady but carried an unquestionable majesty. "Go inside and talk. Tell me everything about the Sunset Forest, without missing a single word."
The group entered the Elder Palace, the stone door of the secret chamber closing slowly, cutting off all sounds from the outside.
Thousand Jun Douluo told everything that happened in the Sunset Forest in detail, from breaking into the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, to the standoff with Dugu Bo, and then the arrival of the black dragon Di Tian, who took away the Dragon Clan descendant, Dugu Long. He even repeated Di Tian's warning, "Humans must not interfere in the affairs of Star Dou," word for word.
Qian Daoliu sat on the main seat, his fingers tapping lightly on the armrest. He was expressionless, but the chill in his eyes grew thicker and thicker.
He had lived for over a hundred years and had seen countless storms, but never had any matter made him feel as vigilant as today.
To be able to cast spatial power casually, with a pressure far exceeding that of an ordinary Titled Douluo, and even making his two level 97 brothers unable to even harbor the thought of resistance—this was definitely an existence that had touched the threshold of the Divine-Grade.
Not to mention the "Master" he spoke of, and that Dragon Clan descendant who had disappeared for ten thousand years...
"Dragon Clan..." Qian Daoliu repeated in a low voice, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes. "After the ancient Dragon God War, the Dragon Clan had long since withered away. I never expected that after ten thousand years, there would still be direct descendants alive. The Star Dou Great Forest hides so much!"
He looked up at Dugu Bo, who was standing to the side still exuding an untamed aura, and his tone softened slightly. "Dugu Bo, your willingness to join Spirit Hall is the honor of Spirit Hall. From today on, you are a Guest Elder of Spirit Hall and will enjoy the same resources as the Elder Palace."
Dugu Bo was stunned. He had originally thought that joining Spirit Hall would at most make him an ordinary Elder. He had not expected that Qian Daoliu would directly give him the status of an Honorary Elder, which was not inferior to an Elder with real power.
This meant that he did not have to be bound by the rules of the Sect, yet could enjoy the top-tier resources of the Elder Palace. The sincerity was undeniable.
Nonsense, such a city-slaughtering poison deserved better treatment.
He was silent for a moment, then bowed slightly to Qian Daoliu. "Thank you, High Priest. I only have one request: Spirit Hall must do its utmost to help me track down the whereabouts of Dugu Long. As long as he can be found, this Life of mine, Dugu Bo, is at the disposal of Spirit Hall at any time."
"Rest assured." Qian Daoliu nodded, his tone firm. "My people have already been dispatched. The branches of Spirit Hall spread across the continent will monitor all movements in the Star Dou Great Forest twenty-four hours a day. As long as he comes out of Star Dou, we will know immediately. Moreover, he is a descendant of the Dragon Clan; he cannot possibly hide in Star Dou forever."
After appeasing Dugu Bo, Qian Daoliu looked at Thousand Jun and Demon Subduing again, his expression turning solemn once more. "Pass down the order: tell all of Spirit Hall's scouts stationed outside to do their utmost to investigate the situation in the core area of the Star Dou Great Forest. Focus on investigating the Origin of that black dragon, as well as the 'Master' he mentioned. Additionally, send three more Spirit Master legions to guard the periphery of the Star Dou Great Forest. Without my order, no one is allowed to trespass into the core area."
"Yes! Big Brother!" Thousand Jun and Demon Subduing both bowed and accepted the order immediately.
They knew very well that this matter was no longer a simple encounter in a Secret Realm.
A black dragon suspected to be of Divine-Grade, a mysterious sleeping "Master," and the appearance of a Dragon Clan descendant—what was hidden behind this was very likely a storm capable of overturning the entire landscape of the continent.
