88: Chapter 88 Different People's Different Attitudes Towards Lolock
As soon as he said this, Lin Mo and his group, who were standing not far away and preparing to approach Luoluoke, stopped in their tracks, their expressions turning ugly.
Partners?
Not a Spirit?!
The brother beside Lin Mo lowered his voice, his tone full of disbelief: "Boss... he said this isn't a Spirit? Then what on earth is it? Could it be... it really came from another World?"
Lin Mo's face was so gloomy it looked like it could drip water. He had originally thought that since this child possessed such a powerful externalized spirit, if he could recruit him to his side, it would definitely be a huge help. But now it seemed things were far more complicated than he had imagined.
This group of people had never played Roco Kingdom or any related games.
He gritted his teeth but still stepped forward, forcing a warm smile onto his face. He cupped his hands toward Luoluoke and said, "Little brother, I am Lin Mo. I have long heard of your great name and have come specifically to visit you today."
Luoluoke raised his head, tilted it as he looked at him, then at the people behind him. He blinked and asked, "Big brothers, do you have business with me?"
"It's nothing major. I simply saw that your 'Spirit' is unique and felt admiration and curiosity, so I wanted to make friends with you," Lin Mo said with a smile. "I have some influence in Soto City. If you need anything, just say the word, and I will do my best to help."
As soon as he finished speaking, the Magic Cat beside him suddenly arched its back warily, letting out a low growl from its throat. The leaves on its head instantly unfurled, pointing directly at Lin Mo's group.
Luoluoke quickly patted the Magic Cat's head to soothe it, then looked at Lin Mo, knitting his little brows. "I don't know you, and I don't need your help. Mama said I shouldn't talk to strangers."
The smile on Lin Mo's face stiffened. He wanted to say more, but the Magic Cat suddenly flicked its tail. A thick Vine Whip instantly erupted from the ground, accompanied by the sound of sharp wind, heading straight for the feet of Lin Mo's group!
Lin Mo and his group's expressions changed drastically as they hurriedly retreated to dodge. However, they were still a step too slow and were swiped across the shins by the Vine Whip. They staggered back several steps, nearly falling to the ground.
"Magic Cat doesn't like you. Please leave." Luoluoke crossed his arms, his little face set firmly as he waved them away like he was shooing flies.
Looking at the stubborn child and the unfathomably powerful Magic Cat before him, Lin Mo's face turned shades of blue and white. Finally, he could only grit his teeth, let out a cold snort, and lead his subordinates away in a pathetic retreat.
Watching their fleeing figures, Xiao Wu couldn't help but laugh out loud. She rubbed Luoluoke's head and said, "You're actually quite impressive."
Luoluoke chuckled a couple of times and went back to skipping around, directing the Magic Cat to play.
Meanwhile, hiding behind a tree in the distance, Yu Tianmeng, who had also been about to come over, froze in place. He was completely dumbfounded by everything he had just witnessed.
He had originally thought that since they were both fellow countrymen from Earth, even if they weren't from the same era, they would at least be able to strike up a conversation. But Luoluoke's line, "This isn't a Spirit, it's my partner Magic Cat," along with those Moves that didn't belong to the Douluo system at all, had completely thrown him for a loop.
"Not a transmigrator from Douluo... but from another dimension?"
Yu Tianmeng muttered to himself, his lips twitching repeatedly. "Holy crap, just how many ridiculous things are there in this World?"
He stood behind the tree for a long while, but in the end, he didn't dare go over.
Some brothers had already been sent flying by a single whip. If he went up, he feared he wouldn't fare any better.
He could only sigh and turn to leave, though he made up his mind to keep a close eye on this youth named Luoluoke.
In another tavern in Soto City, several ordinary-looking people were huddled together, their faces pale as they discussed in hushed tones.
"Did I hear that right? Roco Kingdom? Magic Cat? And that R-branded headband! Isn't that Roco Kingdom?!"
"Absolutely no mistake! That Magic Cat is the final evolution of the Grass-type Starter, Meow Meow! I played Roco Kingdom every day when I was a kid; there's no way I'd recognize it wrong!"
"Crazy! This is truly crazy! Douluo Continent is one thing, but how did people from Roco Kingdom transmigrate here too? Cross-dimensional Transmigration? What kind of ghost World is this?"
"That's Roco Kingdom! The pets inside can destroy heaven and earth! This kid looks harmless, but if he really gets angry, all of us combined wouldn't be enough for that Magic Cat to beat!"
They went back and forth, their faces filled with the bewilderment and fear of a collapsing worldview.
Unlike Lin Mo and Yu Tianmeng, they had grown up playing Roco Kingdom. They knew all too well what that Magic Cat represented, and even better, just how terrifying the power system of Roco Kingdom was.
But amidst the fear, a glint of light appeared in someone's eyes: "Do you think... since he could cross over from Roco Kingdom, maybe he has a way back? If we can get on his good side, could we stop risking our lives in this hellhole? Maybe even going straight to Roco Kingdom would be better than this bullshit Douluo Continent!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the group fell silent, their eyes collectively filling with anticipation.
As Loose Cultivator transmigrators with no background or resources, they lived cautiously on the Douluo Continent, their lives hanging by a thread. They had long wanted to return to Earth.
Now, the appearance of Luoluoke was like a new door opening for them. Even if there was only a one-in-ten-thousand chance, they wanted to try.
The group exchanged glances and instantly reached a consensus. They quietly stood up and headed toward Red Romance, intending to find an opportunity to talk to Luoluoke.
For a time, the transmigrators throughout Soto City were completely split into two factions because of Luoluoke's appearance.
Led by Lin Mo and Yu Tianmeng, the transmigrators who had never encountered Roco Kingdom were full of vigilance and wariness toward Luoluoke, observing him in secret while calculating whether to recruit or eliminate him.
Meanwhile, those familiar with Roco Kingdom harbored all sorts of thoughts—some wanted to cling to a powerful figure, some wanted to find a way home, and some were purely curious if they could go to Roco Kingdom to retire.
In a simple dormitory at Shrek Academy, Yu Xiaogang was curled up on his bed, wrapped tightly in his quilt. His whole body was shaking uncontrollably, and he let out occasional sobs.
Flender stood by the bed, looking at his despondent state. He was so angry his face had turned green, and his fists clenched until they creaked. "Those bastards! Bu Le and those other two are simply lawless. They didn't even spare a man. I'm going to take people right now and slaughter those three scumbags! I'll avenge you!"
"Don't go! Do not go!"
Yu Xiaogang suddenly threw back the quilt and shouted at him with bloodshot eyes, his voice as raspy as sandpaper rubbing against wood. "What's the use of you going? Do you want everyone to know I was taken by three local thugs? Do you want me to be laughed at by the whole World again?!"
Flender looked at the madness and obsession in his eyes, and the words at the tip of his tongue were swallowed back down. In the end, he could only let out a heavy sigh, his face full of disappointment. "Then what do you want to do? Just let it go?"
"Let it go? How could I let it go!"
Yu Xiaogang suddenly sat up from the bed. Because the movement was too large, it pulled at the indescribable wounds on his body, making him grimace in pain. Yet the ruthlessness in his eyes didn't diminish in the slightest. "The debt with Bu Le and those three scumbags will be settled sooner or later! But right now, the most important thing is that child named Luoluoke!"
He threw off the quilt and stumbled toward the desk, grabbing the Spirit theory manuscripts he had spent half his life writing. He muttered to himself with a crazed look, "As long as I can control him, control that powerful pet of his, I will possess power that can destroy heaven and earth! When that time comes, everyone who looked down on me will die! They will all kneel before me and repent!"
Flender looked at his possessed state, opened his mouth, but ultimately said nothing. He simply shook his head and walked out of the dormitory.
He knew his brother too well. He had lived his whole life within his own obsessions. Having suffered such a provocation, he had likely gone to the extreme and could no longer be pulled back.
