346: Grand Elder

High in the sky, the three Demon Race Cultivators glanced at the second phantom sun, which was becoming increasingly solid.

Although they did not fully understand the intricacies involved, a sense of wariness had already grown in their hearts. Regardless of what this phenomenon was, they certainly could not let their opponent have their way!

The black-robed man's offensive became increasingly fierce, the cold light of the interwoven poisonous stingers almost tearing apart the air around him.

With their minds made up, the two black-robed men's offensive became even more relentless, the cold glint of the poisonous stingers on their fingertips unstoppable.

On the other side, another Black-robed Person pondered for a moment before spotting a weakness in the Entrapment Formation. A mass of black mist as thick as ink condensed on his fingertips, which he slammed against the barrier wall. Like a maggot on a bone, the black mist crazily eroded the green spiritual light. The teleportation talismans that had been flowing continuously dimmed instantly. With a "buzz," the sturdy barrier was forcibly torn open with a hideous rift.

"These beasts are indeed troublesome!"

Master Qing Xuan's expression remained unchanged. He paid no mind as he drained the last of the Spiritual Qi in his body. His White Jade Brush moved swiftly through the Void Realm, and three distinct, profound runes suddenly emerged. He shouted in a deep voice:

"Three Talents Spirit-Trapping Formation, rise!"

Three faint rays of spiritual light converged, turning into gold, wood, and water-colored light screens that wrapped around the black-robed man layer by layer. Just as he broke through the first Entrapment Formation, he instantly fell into a second layer of bondage.

But the moment the Formation took shape, several dark green poisonous stingers had already pierced through Master Qing Xuan's shoulder, and sharp pain immediately spread.

Master Qing Xuan felt a sweetness in his throat. Forcing down his churning blood, he swallowed hard. He swung the White Jade Brush again and shouted:

"Soul-Locking Silk!"

Countless transparent threads of wind emerged from the Void Realm, slithering like snakes from a hole toward the black-robed man's limbs and torso. This technique could temporarily block Meridians, preventing the opponent from channeling Demonic Power—an excellent restraint.

But the Black-robed Person reacted extremely quickly. He produced a black bone flute out of thin air and blew into it. A sharp, piercing flute sound rippled out from him in layers. The transparent wind threads were shattered inch by inch, turning into a sky full of fine wind blades that instead swept back toward Master Qing Xuan himself.

Master Qing Xuan hurriedly dodged, but his left shoulder was still grazed by a wind blade. His robes instantly tore, and crimson blood seeped out, making him look quite disheveled.

Yet, there was no fear in his eyes, only one thought: as long as he could stop these two beasts and prevent them from disturbing Senior Chen, it would be enough!

Meanwhile, several miles away!

A figure resembling a middle-aged wealthy merchant was rushing over, following the intense fluctuations of Spiritual Qi.

This person was none other than the Grand Elder of the Chusheng Sect—True Man Gu Hong.

Over the past six months, True Man Gu Hong had truly experienced the fickleness of the world.

From being a renowned Grand Elder of one of the three great Sects with extraordinary status and the respect of thousands, he had become a street rat who had defected to the Yao Race just to survive. The bitterness and hardship he had endured could not be fully expressed even by drinking ten jars of strong wine.

Back at the Chusheng Sect, his life had been smooth sailing. However, the Sect's Old Ancestor had been obsessed with refining the demon transformation pill, turning the entire Sect into a chaotic mess.

The Tower Master of the Demon Suppressing Tower was the first to defect, and several Elders of the Sect also fled with the Sect's resources. He finally managed to catch his breath when news of the Old Ancestor's death arrived, thinking better days were ahead. To his surprise, the Sect Master was then slain on the spot by someone with just two sword strikes!

Indeed, when Chen Xuan struck with his sword, he had been watching from a corner of the crowd. That Man in White Robes acted with such dominance and his sword momentum was so fierce that it made his eyelids twitch. If the other party knew his identity as the Grand Elder of the Chusheng Sect, True Man Gu Hong estimated he would likely have to take a strike from that man as well.

To this day, he still didn't know the man's origin, only that his cultivation base was terrifying enough to kill a Sect Master in two strikes.

After a night of deep thought, he eventually chose to join the Yao Race to seek a way to live. He thought that after the Yao Race broke through Yaoshi City, the army would easily take over the entire Rain God Continent, and he would find a stable place to settle.

But who would have thought that such a seemingly certain victory would encounter complications? Now, he could only follow orders and investigate the source of the disturbance in the Demon Suppressing Tower.

True Man Gu Hong always felt a sense of confusion, as if a great tide was pressing down and he didn't know which side to join.

It felt as if whichever side he joined, that side would fall into a disadvantage.

Soon, he arrived at the battlefield.

In a few moments, True Man Gu Hong reached the edge of the battlefield. The Sturdy Demon Cultivator caught a glimpse of him and immediately said in a deep voice:

"True Man Gu Hong, you've come at the right time! Quickly, go and kill that Man in White Robes; he's the one causing the disturbance in the Demon Suppressing Tower!"

"Man in White Robes?"

Hearing this, True Man Gu Hong looked up at the figure in snow-white robes in mid-air. His pupils contracted sharply, and he almost turned and fled in terror.

That was clearly the terrifying existence who had killed the Sect Master with two sword strikes in front of everyone!

His throat tightened, and his voice trembled:

"Me... Me?"

"Nonsense!" the Sturdy Demon Cultivator roared, his fan-like hand slamming into Chu Haotian in front of him. "Do you think I can spare a hand right now?"

Chu Haotian and Master Qing Xuan had already spotted the arriving True Man Gu Hong. Their hearts sank simultaneously, filled with worry.

They never expected the Yao Race's reinforcements to arrive so quickly!

Glancing at the edge of the horizon, the third phantom sun was now mostly condensed. Currently, Senior Chen was focusing all his efforts on constructing the Formation and could not be distracted at all. If this suddenly appearing Cultivator truly attacked, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Without a second thought, Chu Haotian flickered and tried to rush forward to stop True Man Gu Hong, but the Sturdy Demon Cultivator had already seen through his intentions. A punch containing massive Demonic Power slammed into his abdomen.

"Poof!"

Chu Haotian groaned, spitting out a mouthful of blood as his body flew backward like a kite with a broken string!

On the other side, the two black-robed men saw True Man Gu Hong standing still without moving. Their eyes grew increasingly sinister, and one of them roared, "What? Is your defection to our race a lie? Do you have other intentions?"

True Man Gu Hong shuddered in fear and quickly shook his head, suppressing the terror in his heart: "No... no, I'll do it right now!"

He knew the Yao Race's methods were ruthless. If he showed any hesitation now, he would likely be torn apart by the demon Cultivators beside him before Chen Xuan even moved.

As the words fell, True Man Gu Hong steeled himself and flew up. He pressed his fingers together, and a small, delicate fireball condensed at his fingertips. For a Foundation Establishment Cultivator, such a fireball would indeed cause a sweat, but for a Golden Core Cultivator, it was laughable.

True Man Gu Hong gritted his teeth and threw the fireball toward the Man in White Robes. He truly did not want to make an enemy of this man.

But before the fireball could even get within three feet of Chen Xuan, it hit the ripples of Spiritual Qi naturally flowing around him. With a soft "sizzle," the faint firelight was instantly extinguished, vanishing into the air without even causing a ripple.

This scene looked somewhat comical to everyone. It was like two adults fighting to the death, and one side suddenly picked up a dry leaf and threw it at the opponent—not only was it harmless, but it also felt inexplicably absurd.

Master Qing Xuan was stunned, even forgetting the sharp pain in his shoulder for a moment. Meanwhile, the expressions of the two black-robed men became increasingly dark and ugly.
