31: The First Roar of the Magnetic Storm and the Hyperspace Imprint

The gloom brought by the sacrifice of the "arctic shadow" squad was finally dispelled by a succession of technological breakthroughs. A long-suppressed excitement permeated the entire base, like a sleeping behemoth about to awaken.

The Combat Laboratory became the center of this storm.

The research team conducted frantic research on the special crystals within the Scrin energy conduction system. After countless failures, they finally succeeded in synthesizing artificial crystals with similar properties and used them as a foundation to create the first experimental energy amplification and magnetic field focusing device.

[Technology Unlocked: Basic Theory of Magneto-Shock technology.]

[Building Unlocked: Magneto-Shock Coil (Soviet Forces).]

[Effect: Releases high-intensity electric arcs; highly effective against infantry and light vehicles, and causes EMP interference to heavy armor.]

[Construction Requirements: $1500, Power 200; requires Soviet base (unlocked) or Combat Laboratory (under special conditions).]

Although Sun Zheng had not yet unlocked the Soviet base and could not build the standard version of the Magneto-Shock Coil, the Combat Laboratory utilized high-level permissions and existing materials to erect a small experimental tower on the lab's periphery.

Sun Zheng personally arrived to observe the test. At the top of the tower, which was steeped in Soviet heavy industrial style, electromagnetic energy converged violently, emitting a piercing hum. The next second, a thick blue electric arc whistled out, instantly engulfing a discarded armor target a hundred meters away!

"Crackle!" Black smoke rose from the electronic equipment on the target's surface as it was completely paralyzed, and the armor was scorched black.

"Success!" The Engineers on-site cheered with excitement.

Sun Zheng nodded in satisfaction. Although this was only a stripped-down version, it proved the feasibility of Magneto-Shock technology. It should be of great use against enemies like the "Ice Abyss Predator" that rely on bioelectricity. This added a new weapon for future explorations of the Under-ice Ruins.

Almost simultaneously, even weightier news came from the Chronosphere Teleportation project team!

Based on Sun Zheng's sensory data regarding the stability of the homeworld space's Anchor Points, the project team successfully solved the two major problems of "coordinate drift" and "energy dissipation" that had long plagued Chronosphere Teleportation. They designed a brand-new spatial coordinate locking algorithm and optimized the energy core output curve.

[Technology Research Completed: Chronosphere (Allied Forces).]

[Function: Can instantly teleport selected units to any explored area on the map.]

[Construction Requirements: $5000, Power 1000; requires Combat Laboratory and Air Command Post.]

The cost was staggering and the power consumption terrifying, but its strategic value was irreplaceable!

Without hesitation, Sun Zheng immediately allocated funds and selected an open area in the base's core to begin constructing this landmark building.

A massive ring-shaped metal structure rose from the ground, with complex energy conduits and spacetime stabilizers installed one by one. Construction lasted a full day, and when the final component was in place, the entire building glowed with a faint blue aura, causing subtle distortions in the surrounding space.

[Chronosphere is ready.]

Sun Zheng stood in the Command Center, preparing for the first test with an excited heart. His chosen target was an open area near a northern Forward Base dozens of kilometers away.

A newly manufactured multifunction infantry vehicle was selected as the teleportation target.

"Chronosphere, activate! Coordinates: Forward Base Alpha, Marker Point A!"

The command was given, and the blue light at the center of the ring-shaped device suddenly became blinding as a distorted passage slowly opened. The powerful energy fluctuations caused the base's lights to flicker.

The next moment, the Rocket Troopers far away in the Arctic sent back footage: a ripple appeared in space over the empty ice field, and the multifunction infantry vehicle instantly appeared at the Marker Point As if emerging from water, completely intact!

"Teleportation successful! Error is less than one meter!" an Engineer reported excitedly.

Cheers erupted throughout the base! Possessing the capability of Chronosphere Teleportation meant that Sun Zheng's troop deployment and tactical mobility would achieve a qualitative leap!

However, amidst this joy, Sun Zheng keenly sensed a strange resonance coming from the homeworld space within him. He subconsciously sank his consciousness into the space and was surprised to find that the gray mist at the edge of the space seemed to have expanded outward by a circle due to the energy ripples generated by this teleportation! The light of the glimmer keystone fragment at the center also became more solid.

"Chrono-energy... can promote the growth of the homeworld space and the keystone?" A bold hypothesis surfaced in Sun Zheng's mind.

If that were truly the case, frequent use of Chronosphere Teleportation was not just a tactical necessity, but also a way to strengthen his own foundation!

Blessings rarely come in pairs, but today they did. The breakthroughs in these two key technologies not only greatly enhanced the base's strength but also seemed to open a new path for Sun Zheng's personal growth.

He looked out the window at the towering Chronosphere, his eyes shining with the light of ambition.

"It's time for our iron torrent to let out a true roar under these stars and moon."

"And that frozen land in the Arctic will also welcome new guests."
