Chapter 132 Hypnosis Breaks the Four Seasons Sword Formation

The audience stands fell into a dead silence; everyone's eyes were wide with disbelief at the scene unfolding before them.

"Is that... is the match decided?"

"I don't understand what's happening either!"

A duel that seemed evenly matched just a second ago had suddenly become eerie and unpredictable after a single sword strike pierced a heart.

No one could say for sure whether Gu Ye had truly been killed in an instant or if he had another scheme in mind.

Just as the crowd was filled with doubt and suspicion, Li Weihuan's cold voice rang out again.

"summer spirit sword, continue the attack!"

"Understood!"

The summer spirit sword responded, violently pulling the longsword out of Gu Ye's chest.

"Hiss—"

Gu Ye couldn't help but suck in a breath of cold air.

The combat simulation system at Star Refining University had its pain perception set to one hundred percent; that sharp pain of the heart being pierced and then having the sword pulled out was truly agonizing.

The summer spirit sword pressed the advantage, flipping the blade to stab down once more, intending to finish Gu Ye off completely.

Gu Ye's gaze sharpened. Taking advantage of the gap when the opponent retracted their sword, he threw his body backward and fell to the ground, narrowly avoiding the fatal blow.

And at that very moment—

A trait on Ash's body suddenly activated!

[Messenger of Ho-Oh], activate!

A mass of warm and blazing crimson flames enveloped Gu Ye out of thin air.

The fatal chest wound from a moment ago healed at a speed visible to the naked eye; flesh regrew, and blood essence returned to its place.

In the next instant, Gu Ye's body became ethereal, slowly sinking into the void.

Gu Ye took the opportunity to enter an Untargetable State state.

The summer spirit sword's follow-up strike stabbed straight through empty space, cutting only air, despite Gu Ye being right beneath him.

"What?!"

Li Weihuan's expression changed. He immediately spread his spiritual perception to its full extent, frantically searching for Gu Ye's trail.

But no matter how he searched, his perception returned nothing.

It was as if Gu Ye had never appeared on this stage at all.

Yet, he could still see Gu Ye with his naked eyes.

Li Weihuan's pupils constricted as he instantly thought of an extremely rare status.

"It's Untargetable State! He actually mastered Untargetable State!"

The audience erupted in an instant.

"Untargetable State? That's the life-saving divine skill every Novice Card Master dreams of!"

"I get it! Gu Ye could have clearly dodged earlier, but he took that sword strike on purpose! It must have been to trigger the prerequisite for Untargetable State—it has to be near-death or heavy injury!"

In just a few seconds, many senior Card Masters in the audience had already seen through the effect of Gu Ye's skill.

As expected, no one who could get into Star Refining University was a fool.

"This is trouble."

Li Weihuan's heart sank.

With Gu Ye in an Untargetable State state, he couldn't attack him for the time being.

To win, the only way was to clear out all the Pokemon combatants in front of him before Gu Ye reappeared!

His gaze turned cold, looking at Ash, who was still calmly commanding in the center of the field, and his killing intent surged.

"Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter—Four Swords as One!"

"[Four Seasons Sword Formation]!"

Four spirit sword figures of different colors took to the air simultaneously, moving according to profound trajectories. In an instant, they formed a massive sword formation that covered the entire stage, enveloping Ash and all his Pokemon.

The sword intent was biting, and the temperature shifted abruptly.

"[Summer-Winter Polar Day]!"

Li Weihuan's ultimate trump card erupted.

Countless longswords gathered high in the sky, melting and forging into a blazing, eye-searing red sun. Carrying an aura that could boil the seas and burn mountains, it crashed down.

"It's the Li family's signature sword technique!"

"Can that group of cute pets withstand this move?"

"Withstand it? Haven't you noticed? That boy in the hat has been commanding this whole time!"

The audience's hearts were in their throats.

Ash's expression was grave, but he wasn't flustered at all.

"Gardevoir, use [Future Sight]!"

Gardevoir's eyes glowed with a faint pink divine light, and a mental ripple that transcended time spread out.

In a brief moment, combat footage of the next minute flooded into Ash's mind.

The moment he saw the outcome, a counter-strategy formed in his heart.

In the future, the red sun crashed down, and sword qi swept across the field.

Koromon and Unicorn would be knocked directly back into their egg forms; Pikachu, Gardevoir, and he himself would be lightly injured. Only Magikarp, relying on that terrifying ninety percent damage reduction, would be completely unharmed—at most, it would feel like an itch being scratched.

"In that case..."

Ash's eyes sharpened, and he immediately issued an order.

"Gardevoir, use [Hypnosis] on the spring spirit sword!"

Gardevoir shifted her gaze, and two invisible mental ripples shot directly at the spring spirit sword.

The spring spirit sword's gentle, watery eyes were instantly dyed the same deep red as Gardevoir's.

Control successful!

In the next moment, an astonishing scene occurred.

As one of the cores of the Four Seasons Sword Formation, the spring spirit sword suddenly struggled violently and defected!

The sword formation that had been running perfectly shattered on the spot!

The terrifying red sun high in the sky dissipated into nothingness.

The spring spirit sword moved, flying straight to Gardevoir's side to obediently stand guard.

The people in the audience were completely stunned by Ash's play.

"You can solve a sword formation like that?"

"If you turn the people making the formation into your own allies, there is no formation anymore, right?!"

"You..."

Li Weihuan's face was as black as the bottom of a pot.

Not only was his strongest move broken, but he had also lost a major general for nothing.

He became more and more confused as the fight went on.

Those little pets around Ash that looked like they had zero combat power...

Koromon, Unicorn, and Magikarp hadn't made a single move from start to finish. What were they actually for?

Could they really just be decorations?

A frantic thought rose in his mind.

As long as he killed this commanding boy, Gu Ye's entire card deck would fall apart like loose sand!

Li Weihuan's eyes suddenly turned ruthless as he barked in a low voice:

"white spirit sword, move!"

"Oh no!"

Ash's heart tightened.

A white figure appeared without any warning, flashing out from the void to his right.

The white spirit sword held a longsword, its tip pointing straight at Ash's heart at extreme speed!

A smile of certain victory finally curled on Li Weihuan's lips.

This hidden piece had been kept in reserve for the entire match.

As long as this sword strike landed, the game was over!
