Chapter 71 [Mount Guiding] No Strange Things to Be Seen Inside
"Master Liu, we've been walking for so long, why haven't we seen a single ghost yet?" Gu Ye scanned his surroundings, his footsteps light, as he whispered to the Willow Crab lazily sprawled on his shoulder.
At this moment, Gu Ye was walking through a quiet mountain stream, flanked by towering ancient trees with interlocking branches.
Wisps of sunlight pierced through the gaps in the leaves, casting slanted beams that fell upon the babbling brook below, refracting into tiny, faint glimmers that created an eerie contrast with the deep, dark surroundings.
That's right, there was still a sun inside [Tianding Mountain], the big fireball everyone knew; clearly, the ghosts inside [Tianding Mountain] were not afraid of sunlight.
"I don't know either. I've never been to this place at all. I can't even get my bearings, and there's no map to guide us." Standing on Gu Ye's shoulder, the Willow Crab felt that every part of the environment was completely unfamiliar.
Gu Ye paused, turned to look at the Willow Crab on his shoulder, and asked with a hint of skepticism, "Didn't you say you knew about the situation in [Tianding Mountain]? You mean you've never been here at all?"
"Who said I'd been here?" The Willow Crab looked astonished, turning its head sharply to look at Gu Ye, as if it had heard something incredible.
"If you've never been here, then how do you know so much information about [Tianding Mountain]?"
The Willow Crab said matter-of-factly, "There's the Ghost Report. It's delivered to the restaurant every day. That's how I learn about some things in the Ghost World."
"The Ghost World even has newspapers!!" Gu Ye was surprised; the Ghost World was really keeping up with the times.
Gu Ye suppressed his surprise and continued walking along the mountain stream. He didn't know how long he had been walking when a violent explosion suddenly erupted beside the stream ahead, followed immediately by the sharp clashing of weapons and the sounds of intense fighting, breaking the silence of the ravine.
"As expected of the famous genius from the capital of the Yanxia Federation, Luo Yuerou." Gu Ye saw a blonde-haired, blue-eyed man with pale skin spreading bat wings, his wand brandishing blood blades that turned into streaks of afterimages, aiming directly at his opponent.
A woman with a seductive figure stood there; it was indeed Luo Yuerou. She was wearing a tight combat suit that outlined her exquisite curves, and her narrow, fox-like eyes were enchanting. Facing the oncoming blood blades, there was not a trace of panic in her eyes; instead, a thick sense of disdain flashed through them.
Luo Yuerou flicked her wrist, and the long whip in her hand lashed out instantly. A crisp "crack" echoed through the ravine as the whip, like a nimble spirit snake, precisely struck every single blood blade.
"Bang, bang, bang—" After a few muffled sounds, those seemingly razor-sharp blood blades were all shattered by the whip, turning into specks of blood-red light that dissipated into the air.
Before the man could react, Luo Yuerou moved, holding her whip and taking the initiative to attack him. As the whip danced, the wind whistled, and every move was vicious, aiming straight for the man's vital points.
The man hurriedly flapped his bat wings, dodging nimbly in mid-air to evade Luo Yuerou's fierce assault, a playful expression deepening on his face.
"Luo Yuerou, be my woman. I'll definitely make you fly with pleasure." The man's gaze lingered unscrupulously on her body, revealing his covetousness, while he kept spouting dirty words to disrupt her attacks.
A trace of disgust appeared in Luo Yuerou's eyes as she sneered, "Holden, the genius of the Third High School of the Meiying Federation, a notorious playboy."
She paused, deliberately drawing out her tone, and added word by word, "However, I do remember that some time ago, someone allegedly harassed Duke Reese's youngest daughter and ended up getting his third leg crippled by them, didn't he?"
"You're courting death!" Upon hearing this, Holden was instantly enraged. His face turned crimson, and a strange blood-red color suffused his originally pale skin. He roared sharply, his eyes filled with killing intent, "Woman, I will definitely catch you, train you well, and turn you into my dog, to do with as I please!"
A flash of killing intent appeared in Luo Yuerou's eyes. The enraged Holden had lost his composure, and she instantly seized the opening.
"Crack—" The long whip, like a coiled viper ready to strike, precisely wrapped around Holden's legs, the whip body clinging tightly to his skin.
A brilliant light flared in Luo Yuerou's eyes. With a thought, rows of cold-glinting spikes instantly grew from the long whip, dense and numerous, stabbing fiercely into Holden's legs. Immediately after, a powerful electric current surged from the whip into his body, crackling loudly.
"Ah—!" Holden screamed, his flapping bat wings instantly stiffening. Smoke rose from the top of his head as he fell straight down from the sky.
"Tch." Luo Yuerou looked at the corpse on the ground with disdain, then bent down to pick up the card on the body.
She turned to look at Gu Ye, who was standing to the side, a flash of red light passing through her eyes. "From the Yanxia Federation?"
Gu Ye nodded upon hearing this. Luo Yuerou's lips curled up slightly, revealing a charming yet eerie smile, her figure seductive as she swayed her sexy waist.
She walked toward Gu Ye step by step, the aura around her gradually becoming cold and sinister.
Gu Ye watched her warily. As Luo Yuerou approached, she suddenly attacked.
The long whip in her hand, like a rapidly growing vine, lashed out at high speed, carrying a whistling gale, and struck fiercely at Gu Ye's chest. It was as fast as lightning, catching him off guard.
Gu Ye's pupils dilated; he instantly donned the tuonaduo armor and reached out to grab the long whip.
Luo Yuerou had a smile on her lips, but her tone was icy cold: "So what if you're from the Yanxia Federation? You make me very unhappy."
Hearing her reason, Gu Ye felt speechless. Were all people in the capital this crazy?
Luo Yuerou tried to pull the whip back, but no matter how hard she tried, Gu Ye remained as still as a mountain.
"Trying to compare strength with me?" Luo Yuerou sneered. A surge of power suddenly emerged from within her body.
A pair of pink, tender dragon horns suddenly appeared on top of Luo Yuerou's head. Snake-like scales grew on her slender hands, and sharp nails sprouted from her ten fingers, making her hands look like dragon claws.
She gave a forceful tug. Gu Ye felt a tremendous force strike him, so he quickly let go, and the long whip returned to Luo Yuerou's hand.
"Trash, you dare to look directly at this king." The long whip in Luo Yuerou's hand instantly transformed into a red-tasseled spear, and waves of scarlet ghost energy burned around her.
Roar—! The spear in her hand emitted a dragon's cry as it thrust straight at Gu Ye.
At this moment, the Willow Crab on Gu Ye's shoulder suddenly spoke up.
"Kid, this woman is being controlled. This place is indeed strange. Hurry up and deal with her, then leave this place."
Gu Ye nodded slightly upon hearing this, switched his armor to Nava, and took out the ronglin blade.
Activating skill [Molten Flame Demon Splitting Chop]!
He swung the ronglin blade fiercely. A massive flame blade appeared out of thin air, carrying a scorching aura that incinerated everything as it slashed toward Luo Yuerou. Wherever the flame blade passed, the air was scorched until it distorted.
The giant flame blade struck Luo Yuerou instantly. She didn't even attempt to dodge, taking Gu Ye's attack head-on.
A massive amount of ghost energy exploded, and a figure was sent flying backward from within. Gu Ye stared, dumbfounded, at Luo Yuerou, who had passed out on the ground.
"Why didn't she dodge? It's a good thing I held back my strength, otherwise, she would have been done for."
"She's being controlled by something, only possessing the instinct to charge. Besides, your attack speed is so fast, how could she dodge?" The Willow Crab said speechlessly.
Gu Ye walked over to examine Luo Yuerou; it was clear that she had lost consciousness.
The flame power of Nava had burned her combat suit a bit, leaving it tattered and revealing patches of fair, tender skin, making her look even more alluring.
"Boom—!" The sound of a giant boulder exploding suddenly rang out in the ravine. Immediately after, the sky darkened. Feeling puzzled, Gu Ye turned to look behind him; it turned out a massive figure was blocking the sunlight.
