Chapter 3 Card Creation: [Slaughter - Zhang Fei]

“Annals of the Three Kingdoms,” Volume 9, Zhang Fei:

[It is said that the general trend of the world is that a long period of division must lead to unity, and a long period of unity must lead to division.]

[The Yellow Turban army emerged, intending to unify the Nine Provinces. However, fate intervened, and the Yellow Turbans were destroyed, disturbing the heavenly heart and ushering in a golden age of prosperity.]

[Zhang Fei was a member of a powerful clan in Zhuo Commandery. He emerged in accordance with the great era, exhausting his family fortune with the ambition to compete for world dominance, and entered a sacred sect to learn martial arts.]

[Descending the mountain, he fought three hundred rounds against Guan Yu and Liu Bei at the Peach Garden without a clear victor. The three formed a bond through martial arts and swore brotherhood at the Peach Garden, with Liu Bei as the eldest brother.]

[During the Battle of Changban Slope, the Cao family saint Cao Cao sent Cao Chun to lead the Tiger and Leopard Demon Cavalry and tens of thousands of cultivators to pursue Liu Bei. They caught up with Liu Bei at Dangyang's Changban Slope, intending to exterminate the Liu clan. Zhang Fei was ordered to cover the retreat, leading only two thousand cavalry.]

[Seeing the Ancient Demon Forest to the east of the abyss at Changban Slope, Zhang Fei ordered his two thousand cavalry to tie tree branches to their horses' tails and gallop back and forth, creating the illusion of flying dust to make the Cao army mistakenly believe there was an ambush.]

[Following a sudden epiphany, he broke through to the Martial Cultivation Deva Realm. He let out three roars. The first: "I am Zhang Yide, Man of Yan! Who dares to fight me to the death?" This deterred the Cao army.]

[The second roar: "Zhang Yide, Man of Yan, is here! Who dares to come and fight to the death?" Xiahou Jie was scared to death. Seeing his Deva cultivation, Cao Chun intended to retreat and flee for his life.]

[The third roar: "You neither fight nor retreat, what is the reason?" Holding his eighteen-foot serpent spear, Zhang Fei charged into the Cao army. No one resisted, and finally, the Cao army collapsed and fled.]

As Gu Ye's final word fell, the story was considered fully filled in.

During the entire process, although Gu Ye had only written a few hundred words, all the various descriptions and details of Zhang Fei from the Three Kingdoms Kill had already merged into the card with the movement of the spirit drawing pen.

Gu Ye took a deep breath and uttered a few words:

“Heavenly Dao above, this card is complete. May the Heavenly Dao judge it.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a vast and majestic mysterious power emerged from the void, and the entire spiritual space surged violently. The few seconds of waiting made Gu Ye feel as if years had passed, his palms sweating; this was his first attempt at card creation with a new world background.

After a moment, the spiritual energy around the card gradually dissipated, and a perfect card appeared before him.

Ding!

card creation successful!

After the Heavenly Dao's review, the Heavenly Dao, which should have disappeared, suddenly tore through the void in Gu Ye's spiritual space. A massive vertical eye that covered the heavens and earth abruptly opened, its cold and majestic gaze locking onto him!

Gu Ye instinctively stared directly at the eye of the heavenly dao, his whole body stiff, even his thoughts seemingly frozen.

The eye of the heavenly dao stayed for only a few seconds before quietly vanishing, but in that fleeting moment, Gu Ye seemed to witness the life he had compiled for [Zhang Fei] through the eye of the heavenly dao.

At the same time, in an unknowable land,

An old man dressed simply with white hair and beard was playing chess with a woman of extraordinary celestial grace and a cold temperament. Both of them paused their movements simultaneously and exchanged a look.

The old man stroked his beard, a glint of brilliance flashing in his eyes as he smiled and said:

“It's been a thousand years... finally, another Special Type world background has been born.”

The woman's expression was indifferent, her tone without a ripple: “Just let nature take its course; the Heavenly Dao has its own destiny.”

After saying that, she raised her hand and placed a piece, “Continue.”

The old man waved his hand...

By the time Gu Ye regained his senses, the sequelae of having his mental spiritual energy drained from his sea of consciousness erupted instantly, followed by a needle-like pain in his head.

Exiting the spiritual space and resting for a good while, he finally felt the pain in his head subside.

He slowly opened his eyes, looked at the card in his hand, and with a thought, checked the card's information.

card: [Slaughter · Zhang Fei]

Quality: [Light Blue · 4-Star]

Category: [Combat · General / Summon / Humanoid]

Characteristics:

[Heart of a General]:

Possesses a powerful and loyal heart, immune to some mental attacks. Zhang Fei recognizes you as his Lord, vowing to protect your safety to the death and resolutely executing your decisions.

[Skilled in Martial Arts and Riding]:

Zhang Fei is highly skilled in martial arts and proficient in spear techniques. When facing enemies with lower martial skills than his, Zhang Fei passively increases critical hit damage.

When Zhang Fei is suppressed by damage and the [Roar I] confinement fails, he can summon his mount [Dark Cloud Treading Snow · Black Steed]. With man and horse as one, combat power increases, and it comes with innate armor penetration.

[Reset]:

Whenever Zhang Fei kills an enemy, the spiritual energy he used in the previous turn is reset.

Skills:

[Roar I]:

“I am Zhang Yide, Man of Yan! Who dares to fight me to the death?” When Zhang Fei lets out a roar, he applies a confinement to the target, binding them. Zhang Fei teleports to their side. The confinement duration decreases as the enemy's level or strength increases, and is also determined by the amount of spiritual energy.

[Roar II]:

“Zhang Yide, Man of Yan, is here! Who dares to come and fight to the death?” Applies a demoralizing effect to the enemy, weakening attack power and reducing defense.

[Roar III]:

“You neither fight nor retreat, what is the reason?” Zhang Fei's attack capability increases, [Roar I] confinement increases by half a second, pain is eliminated, and perception is enhanced.

[Bond]:

When appearing simultaneously with [Guan Yu] and [Liu Bei], the effect [Peach Garden Oath] can be activated.

Seeing the card's effects, the corners of Gu Ye's mouth curled up involuntarily.

“All points into attack, not a single point in defense.”

“[Blue · Four-Star]!”

“The Card Domain Trial in three days is in the bag.”

Now that Gu Ye's first card was at the blue level, combined with his talent's effect, he could use this card completely without burden.

Just then! A mysterious power emerged from the card in his hand and entered his sea of consciousness.

“Is the strengthening starting?” Gu Ye's heart stirred, and he immediately closed his eyes to begin consuming this power.

A moment later, the power was fully digested. He looked internally at the Natal Card in his sea of consciousness; cyan patterns already covered three-ninths of the card's surface.

Bronze Rank 3!

[The ranks of Card Masters from low to high: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Purple Diamond Epic, Black Diamond Legendary, Color Diamond Mythic...]

When the cyan patterns completely covered the card's surface, it meant he could advance to the Silver rank. The mysterious power that had just appeared was the feedback from the card that strengthened the Card Master when a card Creator finished making or strengthening a new card.

Most Card Masters wanted to become card Creators because creating new cards could strengthen themselves; otherwise, they could only slowly increase their level through meditation or combat.

On Blue Star, every Card Master more or less had a sub-profession as a card Creator.

At Bronze Rank 3, Gu Ye could at most use a blue card. Although there would still be a slight load, the impact was minor.

As Gu Ye injected spiritual energy into the card in his hand, an illusory figure gradually solidified, and a dark-faced burly man appeared before him.

“This general Zhang Fei greets my Lord.” Zhang Fei cupped his fists in salute to Gu Ye.

Gu Ye quickly got off the bed and returned the salute:

“General Zhang Feis courtesy name, please look after me in the future!”

After the two chatted for a while, Zhang Fei turned back into a card.

Gu Ye put the card away and picked up the unused [Refinement] materials. Only now could he carefully check the materials' information.

“What is this?”

All the blue materials were [Breath of Spiritual Energy]. Gu Ye pulled out one of the [Breath of Spiritual Energy] cards.

[Breath of Spiritual Energy]

Quality: [Blue]

Category: [Natural Treasure]

Description: Increases the Card Master's spiritual energy.

“It's actually a [Natural Treasure] type. Is the [Refinement] talent this awesome?!” Gu Ye stared wide-eyed at the card's information.

Although the description of [Breath of Spiritual Energy] was brief, Gu Ye fully understood what it meant.

Gu Ye injected spiritual energy into the [Breath of Spiritual Energy] card, and a jelly-like mass appeared in his hand. He just kept observing it and did not rush to use it.

“Is this thing really useful? It's not poisonous, is it!”

Gu Ye got off the bed, caught a cockroach from the corner, and fed it. After a while, seeing that the cockroach was fine and its aura had even slightly increased, he then took out a second portion of [Breath of Spiritual Energy] for his own use.

“Bronze Rank 3 increased by 3%!”

After completing the Refinement, Gu Ye clearly felt the power of the [Breath of Spiritual Energy].

“There are two more cards, which can increase it by 6%.”

“As long as [Breath of Spiritual Energy] is provided in unlimited quantities, won't I be able to advance to Silver very quickly?”

“Money!”

“I need more money. Otherwise, how can I be a Card Master without money!”

Gu Ye thought for a moment and felt that the Card Domain Trial in three days would be a good opportunity to make some money.
