100: Chapter 100 Heavenly Edict

Southern Heaven Gate.

Vast, deathly silent.

The hundreds of millions of miles of white jade plaza, casually created by the Giant Spirit God back then, had completely crumbled; broken walls and ruins were scattered everywhere.

That facade of the Heavenly Court was even more miserable.

The million-zhang-high lintel was broken into a dozen pieces, the pillars supporting heaven and earth were covered in cracks, and one of them was snapped in the middle, its broken end pointing diagonally toward the gray, decaying sky.

But all this ruin could not compare to the saber mark right in the center of the lintel.

The saber mark was a hundred thousand zhang long, pitch black, and bottomless.

That strike was not slashed onto stone at all, but rather slashed into the very roots of this world.

Ominous black Aura seeped out from within, cold and deathly silent, causing all life within hundreds of millions of miles to be severed.

Even a Divine Soul at the Great Emperor level would feel a stinging pain in its soul form if it stood here.

The veteran's remnant soul had been drifting in front of this saber mark for who knows how many years.

His body was so faint it was almost invisible; a gust of wind could scatter it.

He just stared blankly at that saber mark, his eyes hollow, without a ripple.

Hundreds of millions of years had passed.

He kept watch here, watching this scar day after day, grinding away the last trace of order in the Immortal Domain.

He had thought about repairing it.

But his power was not even as good as dust in front of that saber mark.

Every time he approached, his soul form would have a layer scraped off by that ominous Aura.

Just a moment ago, he thought he had gone mad.

Someone had come.

A living person, and he even brought a whole family of living people.

Now, this young Great Emperor who called himself Li Xuan was standing right in front of the saber mark he dared not even touch.

Li Xuan did not look at the broken gate and plaza.

His eyes never left that saber mark from beginning to end.

"Was it this that extinguished the last Immortal Court?"

Li Xuan asked, his voice calm.

The veteran's lips moved, wanting to shout at him not to get too close, as that ghostly thing would contaminate his Divine Soul.

But before he could make a sound, Li Xuan moved.

Li Xuan raised his hand.

A golden light lit up in his palm, dazzling and eye-catching.

The light was not blinding, but it revealed supreme majesty and the will to reorganize heaven and earth.

A palm-sized golden imperial decree hovered in his palm.

On the imperial decree, there were only four ancient runes.

Reconstruction of the Heavenly Court.

The veteran's remnant soul shook violently, and the luster finally returned to his eyes.

What was that?

A hallucination?

Was it the final thought before he suffered Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering?

Heavenly Court... reconstruction?

What a joke!

The Immortal Court was extinguished, the Immortal Emperor was dead, the Immortal Kings had all fallen, the Southern Heaven Gate had been slashed to waste by a single strike, and order was gone—what was there to rebuild with?

By what right could it be rebuilt?

A tumultuous storm raged in the veteran's heart; the despair accumulated over hundreds of millions of years was torn open by this scene.

While he was distracted, Li Xuan flicked his finger.

The golden [imperial decree for the reconstruction of the heavenly court] turned into a streak of light, making not a sound, and floated lightly toward the pitch-black saber mark.

The veteran's heart was in his throat.

No!

He wanted to roar, that saber mark would devour everything!

The next second, his roar was stuck in his throat, and he was stunned.

The massive explosion he imagined did not happen.

The golden imperial decree collided with the pitch-black saber mark, just like a red-hot branding iron searing into butter.

"Sizzle... sizzle..."

A teeth-grinding sound rang out.

The taboo Aura that had entrenched itself on the saber mark for hundreds of millions of years, the moment it touched the golden imperial decree, melted away like ice and snow meeting the sun, rapidly twisting and dissolving!

The veteran was dumbfounded.

He saw that speck of golden light explode from the center of the saber mark, spreading madly in all directions.

The originally pitch-black saber mark lit up with a speck of gold in the center.

Then, that golden light surged, forcibly pushing back and crushing all the darkness and ominousness, inch by inch!

"This... how is this possible?"

The veteran's remnant soul fluctuated violently, almost falling apart.

That was a Dao injury left by a taboo existence.

It was a power that even Immortal Kings could do nothing about, only able to watch as it ground away everything.

To actually... to actually be purified just like that?

By a small imperial decree?

The shock was not over yet.

When the last wisp of black Aura was evaporated by the golden light, that [imperial decree for the reconstruction of the heavenly court] surged with light, completely fusing into the entire dilapidated Southern Heaven Gate.

"Rumble!"

A loud noise exploded over the deathly silent ruins.

The lintel fragments scattered across the hundreds of millions of miles of plaza, the broken pillars, the shattered steps, at this moment, seemed to be pulled by an invisible force, all vibrating.

Then, a mountain-heavy piece of the broken lintel, trailing a tail of light, was the first to fly up from the ruins.

Boom!

It precisely embedded itself into the gap of the lintel; the broken runes and Law, under the golden light, pulled, connected, and underwent Fusion, fitting together seamlessly.

"Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"

The second piece, the third piece, the fourth piece.

Countless huge fragments whistled in from all directions, their Aura astonishing, yet they returned to their positions gently.

That sky-supporting pillar that had been cut off slowly rose into the air amidst violent shaking.

At the break, countless Immortal Dao runes grew wildly and intertwined, like flesh and meridians growing out, binding the two broken sections of the pillar back together.

One, two... thousands upon thousands of broken Immortal Dao Laws, under the command of the imperial decree, came back to life.

The entire Southern Heaven Gate was actually self-reorganizing and self-repairing.

Time seemed to have lost its meaning.

Who knows how much time had passed.

When the last palm-sized rubble flew over from a corner, it clicked into place on the base of the pillar.

The whole world suddenly went quiet.

A divine gate, intact, a million zhang tall, cast entirely from immortal jade, engraved with the stars of heaven and all spirits paying homage, stood once again between heaven and earth.

It stood quietly, ancient, majestic, possessing an eternal majesty of its own.

It was just... still deathly silent.

The little bit of hope the veteran had just raised dropped a little.

That was right; only the shell had been repaired, but the Immortal Dao Laws of this world were already shattered, and the order of the Heavenly Court had long since collapsed.

Before this thought had even finished turning.

"Hum!"

A humming sound rang out from inside the repaired Southern Heaven Gate.

In an instant, a golden divine light, far more vast and pure than the imperial decree, erupted from the tightly closed door gap.

That was not light.

It was the most Origin, most pure, most ancient Spiritual Qi of immortals.

It was the source of order that flowed in the Thirty-Three Heavens when the Heavenly Court was still there.

This Spiritual Qi rushed out, instantly brushing over the veteran's illusory soul form.

A sense of warmth and vitality surged into the depths of his soul.

His body, which was almost transparent, quickly solidified under the nourishment of this Spiritual Qi; the soul light that had been worn away by time was being rapidly replenished and repaired.

His remnant soul, which was about to fall apart, actually solidified by more than half in just a few breaths.

His body was no longer illusory, and he even had the feeling of stepping on the ground beneath his feet.

He trembled, lowered his head, looked at his own hands which had become clear, and then suddenly looked up at the majestic divine gate that was spewing endless Spiritual Qi.

His lips trembled, his whole body shook, and finally, tears streamed down.

"Heavenly Court... the light of order of the Heavenly Court..."

He choked, using all his strength to let out a roar mixed with despair and hope.

"Has reappeared!"
