756: Chapter 756 Qin Han Swallows Fire
Grandmother Tianyin's eyes brimmed with tears, and her lips trembled: "They are all innocent children. What wrong have they done?"
Pausing for a moment, she took a deep breath, her voice lowering: "I beg you... Let them go. I will agree to whatever you want me to do."
"You?" Yan Ji looked down at her, "What can you do for me?"
"Anything." Grandmother Tianyin met her gaze, her voice tight, "I can do anything."
As she spoke, two hot tears slid down her cheeks.
Grandmother Tianyin had been an orphan since childhood, and along her journey, she had seen too many injustices.
She had learned one thing: endure when she could, and yield when she could.
In the very beginning, she only had a small courtyard to take in children with nowhere to go—several of whom were now high-ranking members of the Tianyin Sect.
Later, as the number of people grew and the courtyard became too small, she moved to a larger place.
Still later, the Sect was established, Disciples grew more numerous, and enemies multiplied as well.
But she had never thought of fighting for anything.
When Wanling Valley came to snatch territory, she yielded.
When the Celestial Palace planted spies, she knew, yet chose to turn a blind eye.
She thought that as long as the Tianyin Sect harbored no other intentions, the Celestial Palace wouldn't drive them to absolute ruin.
But today, Yan Ji had come.
Within the Tianyin Sect today, there were at least tens of thousands of children under ten years old.
She dared not think any further.
Yan Ji looked away, her tone indifferent: "No need. My Celestial Palace doesn't lack filth like you."
Her voice was not loud, but the entire Tianyin Sect heard it.
Across every mountain, square, and in front of the palaces, Tianyin Sect Disciples of all ages raised their heads, looking at the heaven-covering Qianyuan Mirror.
Some clenched their fists, some hugged those beside them, and some bit their lips with tear-filled eyes, holding back their tears.
A little girl, one meter tall, looked up at the darkening firmament and asked softly: "Sister Rong, are we going to die?"
Sister Rong crouched down, pulled her into her embrace, and covered her eyes with her hand: "Linger, don't be afraid."
Beside her, a boy of similar height tilted his head up, tears already welling up: "Wuwuwu, the bad guys are here, the bad guys are here!"
Brother Jing crouched down, pulling him into his embrace: "Fool, it's fine, it's fine."
In a certain square, a group of children had gathered together at some unknown point.
The youngest were three or four years old, and the oldest were no more than seven or eight. Holding hands, they formed a circle.
They didn't cry. Tilting their heads back and gazing at the descending darkness in the firmament, they began to sing:
"It's getting dark, no fear, lights are shining on the mountain..."
"The wind is coming, no fear, parents are behind the door..."
Their voices were soft and intermittent; someone went out of tune, and someone had a crying tone in their throat, but no one stopped.
Linger broke free from Sister Rong's embrace, wiped her eyes, and joined in the singing.
After crying, Fool sniffled, clenched his fists, and intermittently picked up the next line.
More and more children in the square joined in one by one, holding hands, and their voices grew louder bit by bit:
"The tree has fallen, no fear, the roots are still in the ground..."
"The people are gone, no fear, the road is still ahead..."
The children's voices overlapped, crisp yet trembling, sounding like the calls of birds in the mountains.
High up in the firmament, Yan Ji looked down at them for a moment and expressionlessly raised her hand.
The surface of the Qianyuan Mirror began to ripple, and grayish-white light condensed within the mirror.
Right at this moment,
a tiny figure suddenly hovered in the firmament, then violently expanded—
A colossal body spanning ten thousand zhang crossed the horizon, its silvery-white fur shimmering with ten-color gloss, tilting its head to look down.
Then, it reached out and grabbed.
Five streaks of light tore through the firmament, and the Qianyuan Mirror was forcibly ripped open right down the middle with five cracks. Its spiritual light abruptly dimmed, and it rapidly shrank, turning palm-sized as it plummeted from the sky.
Yan Ji's expression sank, her gaze falling upon that gigantic figure: "No wonder the grand formation wasn't broken earlier. So it was you, this beast, making trouble."
Qin Han grinned, revealing two rows of closely arranged, glowing teeth: "Prodigy, I am the Sect's Divine Beast! Hurry up and meet your death!"
In the square, the children stopped singing, craning their necks with wide-open mouths as they looked at the heaven-covering gigantic figure in the sky.
Fool's mouth hung wide open, tears still hanging on his face, and though his voice was still hoarse, he shouted out: "What a big dog!"
Qin Han lowered its head to glance at him and snorted from its nose: "You're the dog! Your entire family are dogs!"
A burst of crisp laughter rang out among the children, and even Grandmother Tianyin couldn't help twitching the corners of her mouth.
But before the laughter had faded, Yan Ji had already struck.
"Beast, meet your death!"
She let out a low cry, and a crimson-red light exploded from her palm, transforming into a Fire Dragon that dyed half the sky red as it lunged toward Qin Han.
Qin Han opened its mouth and inhaled; that Fire Dragon didn't even have time to struggle before it was swallowed in one gulp.
It let out a hiccup, spat out a puff of black smoke, and then raised its hand to slap down.
There was no buildup, no warning, just like swatting a fly resting on a table.
Yan Ji didn't even have time to react before her entire body was slapped straight down, crashing into the ground.
Boom—!
The ground cracked open into a deep pit, and dust soared into the sky.
Qin Han didn't even look at the pit, opening its gigantic mouth to inhale fiercely toward the giant boat—a black hole swirled within its mouth, and an intangible power of rules spread out, enveloping the entire giant boat.
Those one hundred Soul Transformation and one thousand Nascent Souls hadn't even had time to react before their bodies were locked down, unable to even execute teleportation.
A Soul Transformation expert who had been sneering just moments ago now had a drastic change in expression.
He tried to circulate the power within his body, only to find that his body was completely out of control, and even his Primordial Spirit could not escape.
This person was none other than Yan Feng.
After his Breakthrough to Soul Transformation, he had taken the initiative to find Yan Ji, speaking righteously about contributing to the Celestial Palace.
He never expected that on his very first mission, he would encounter such a life-and-death crisis.
Cold sweat poured down his forehead, his voice trembling as he shouted aloud: "Senior! Senior! I was just here to watch the show, this has nothing to do with me!"
The others erupted all at once as well.
"Don't kill me! I still have elderly and young at home!"
"Damn the Celestial Palace, I was forcibly conscripted!"
"Motherfucker, this is my very first mission!"
"Senior, I'm not a person of the Celestial Palace, I'm a spy!"
Some shouted, some cried, some struggled trying to raise their hands, and some couldn't even make a sound.
More than a thousand voices blended together, impossible to tell who was speaking, leaving only a chaotic expanse of despair.
Then, a tremendous suction force surged from the black hole in Qin Han's mouth, transforming the over one thousand people into streaks of light that were sucked into that abyss-like gigantic mouth.
The deck was empty.
Not even a single drop of blood remained.
Yan Ji crawled out of the deep pit, covered in dust and grime, blood seeping from the corners of her mouth.
She raised a hand to wipe away the blood at the corner of her mouth, glaring viciously at Qin Han as her heart tightened—that Fire Dragon had actually been swallowed in one gulp by it.
Not even a single spark was left.
She was well-versed in the roster of the Yao Race; among the hundred thousand members of the Yao Race, there was no such mutated species.
Her strength and Legacy were almost entirely fire-type Spells; wouldn't she be completely countered and devoured to death?
She gritted her teeth, raised her head, and shouted toward the starry sky: "This beast is bizarre! Will the two Seniors still not make a move?"
