57: Mysterious Altar

When Lin Mu and the other person approached and looked closely.

The Three-Headed Dog's fur was matted, and he had several new wounds on his body.

One eye of his middle head was swollen shut.

In contrast, the Tiger Demon who was fighting the Three-Headed Dog.

Although he was somewhat dishevelled, he didn't have any obvious injuries.

This Tiger Demon's body was twice as large as the previous one, and he was none other than the Tiger Demon King of Headless Mountain.

The Tiger Demon King was extremely anxious at this moment; the pressure from these two people made him feel a bit suffocated.

The Three-Headed Dog had just suffered greatly at the hands of this Tiger Demon.

Seeing his backing arrive, he immediately bared his fangs and claws: "Come, come, you little sick cat, let's fight another three hundred rounds!"

The Tiger Demon glanced at the Three-Headed Dog with disdain, then, with a lack of confidence, said to Lin Mu:

"You humans actually disregard the agreement and repeatedly trespass into my demon clan's territory. Do you really think my Demon Emperor is just a decoration?"

The Tiger Demon knew he couldn't win in a fight, so he could only bring up the Demon Emperor to intimidate the humans before him.

Unexpectedly, he didn't see a trace of fear on either of their faces.

The young man leading them pointed at him and said, "Come here. We are only here for one thing. If you cooperate honestly, we can spare your life."

The Tiger Demon King was half-believing, half-doubting Lin Mu's words, but at the moment, he had no other option and could only act according to the situation.

He cautiously walked step by step towards Lin Mu, stopping a few meters away from him.

Seeing him so timid, Lin Mu waved his hand, and the Tiger Demon King's body flew involuntarily before him.

Only then did the Tiger Demon King truly feel Lin Mu's terror; he couldn't even move a single hair on his body now.

He watched in horror as Lin Mu slowly took out a divine stone the size of a goose egg.

He had a fleeting sensation that he had seen that divine stone somewhere before.

"Look carefully. Have you ever seen this kind of divine stone? Tell me truthfully!"

Lin Mu's voice was cold and emotionless, as if it came from the netherworld.

The Tiger Demon King swallowed, carefully recalling where he might have seen it.

Suddenly, a somewhat childish voice rang out: "Old Ancestor, this stone looks somewhat similar to the patterns on the altar."

Upon hearing this voice, the Tiger Demon Old Ancestor suddenly turned and roared, "Who told you to come out? Hurry back!"

Lin Mu looked towards the source of the sound, a small, pure white tiger, somewhat timidly hiding behind a mother tiger.

This Little White Tiger didn't even seem to have reached level six, yet it could speak human words.

The Little White Tiger felt its fur stand on end from Lin Mu's gaze and unconsciously tried to turn and run back into the cave.

How could Lin Mu let him have his way?

He merely waved his hand gently, and the Little White Tiger, like the Tiger Demon King, flew uncontrollably towards Lin Mu.

Seeing the Little White Tiger being controlled, the Tiger Demon King, not knowing where he found the courage, pounced at Lin Mu.

His speed was very fast, and he reached Lin Mu in the blink of an eye.

Just as he thought he could interrupt Lin Mu's spellcasting, a sword light suddenly flashed across.

Although he tried his best to dodge and avoided vital spots, a deep wound was still left on his abdomen.

He lay weakly on the ground, the tearing sensation from the wound leaving him without the strength to even stand up.

He watched helplessly as the Little White Tiger landed in front of Lin Mu.

The Little White Tiger blinked his large eyes, looked at Lin Mu who had abducted him, and then at Yun Feiyang, who held a sword.

For a moment, he even forgot his fear and said in a childish voice:

"Don't hurt my clansmen. I'll take you to the altar; there are patterns of this stone there."

Seeing the Little White Tiger about to turn and lead the way.

The Tiger King, lying on the ground, said weakly:

"We, the Tiger Clan, have dwelled in this Headless Mountain for thousands of years and have never actively harmed humans."

"Even when facing invasion, we have never eaten a single person. Why are you so aggressive?"

Upon hearing this, Lin Mu thought of the corpses hanging from the large trees.

Presumably, they were all people who had infiltrated the Tiger Clan's territory with ill intentions.

He glanced at the half-dead Tiger Demon King out of the corner of his eye and said indifferently, "

I already said that I am only here to find something. As long as you cooperate honestly, I will spare your life. You are the one who doesn't know what's good for him."

The Three-Headed Dog, who had been silent all this time, suddenly spoke with a hint of reluctance: "

I say, sick cat, my boss's word is his bond. Just lie there honestly."

"My boss will definitely let you all live after he gets what he wants."

The Tiger Demon King looked at the Little White Tiger upon hearing this.

The Little White Tiger nodded at him, his resolute eyes exactly like his own when he was young.

He also nodded at the Little White Tiger, affirming his decision.

The Little White Tiger led Lin Mu and the others into the cave.

The mother tiger who had been protecting the Little White Tiger earlier rushed to the Tiger Demon King's side.

While tending to his wounds, she anxiously asked:

"Old Ancestor, Little White possesses the bloodline of a sacred beast and is the hope for our Tiger Clan's resurgence. What should we do now?"

The Tiger Demon King blinked weakly and said, "Now it depends on Little White's fortune. I believe he can overcome this calamity."

On the other side, inside the gloomy mountain cave.

The Little White Tiger led Lin Mu to an altar and stopped. This altar was surrounded by four upright stone pillars.

The Little White Tiger raised his paw and pointed to one of the stone pillars, saying, "The thing you're looking for is carved on that stone pillar."

Lin Mu slowly walked to the pillar and looked up at the stone pillar covered in patterns.

Various strange patterns were carved on the stone pillar, and among them, one pattern was extremely similar to the heavenly dao stone.

Lin Mu examined it carefully for a while longer. This pattern was indeed the heavenly dao stone, but there was a protective layer around the heavenly dao stone.

It should be that the heavenly dao stone was placed in some kind of magical artifact.

Having confirmed that the pattern was the heavenly dao stone, Lin Mu gently stroked the Little White Tiger with his right hand.

He whispered, "Do you know who carved this pattern?"

The Little White Tiger felt uncomfortable being touched by Lin Mu, but he didn't dare to struggle free.

He just stood there blankly and said, "This altar has been here for thousands of years. The Old Ancestor once said that it existed before our Tiger Clan came here."

Yun Feiyang walked to the center of the altar and fumbled around for a while.

He said with some uncertainty, "Sect Master, this altar might be a teleportation array. However, it seems to have been abandoned for a long time."

"Teleportation array?"

Lin Mu let out a soft exclamation and also walked onto the altar to examine it carefully.

The teleportation array was a perfect circle, with four stone pillars standing in the four directions of southeast, northwest.

Lin Mu suddenly discovered that at the connection point between each stone pillar and the altar, there was a hidden circular hole the size of a goose egg.

A guess welled up in his heart.

So, he casually took out a heavenly dao stone and gently placed it into the circular hole.

The moment the heavenly dao stone entered the stone hole, a dazzling light traveled along the stone pillar and was transmitted to the center of the altar.

Lin Mu's heart swelled with joy as he saw his guess come true.

He unhesitatingly placed the remaining three heavenly dao stones into the other holes.

As the other three heavenly dao stones were placed, three more beams of light converged towards the center of the altar.

The four beams of light gathered together, and suddenly a thick yellow light pillar rose from the center of the altar, like a yellow dragon soaring straight into the clouds.

The light pillar rose into the air, then cascaded downwards like a waterfall, forming a light shield around the altar.

The Little White Tiger watched this scene, dumbfounded.

Suddenly, he felt himself being picked up and carried onto the altar.

The Three-Headed Dog's middle head held the Little White Tiger, while his left head opened its mouth and said:

"Boss, bring him along. If things go wrong, I'll eat him first."

Lin Mu ignored the Three-Headed Dog's malicious humor.

Seeing that the formation had been activated, he immediately used the Power of the Heavenly Dao to recall the four heavenly dao stones.

With a rumble, the formation vibrated violently.

After the light curtain flickered a few times, the figures of Lin Mu and the others disappeared within the altar.
