118: Chapter 117 As long as headquarters remains undetected, we will not lose!
Dragon Temple Headquarters.
Deep within the Great Desolation, hidden inside a giant folded space nine thousand meters underground.
This was the core hub of power for the entire Dragon Temple.
Inside the magnificent dark-gold hall, the atmosphere was oppressive to the extreme.
The First Elder, seated at the head, was clad in a black-and-gold dragon-patterned robe. He toyed with two purple-gold energy cores in his hand, his expression calm.
Below him, the Second and Third Elders were filled with anxiety.
"Big Brother, the five hundred personal guards and one hundred thousand elites that the Seventh Elder, Nu Yan, took with him are all gone."
The Third Elder's voice trembled.
"That Lin Mo is a monster that defies all common logic."
The Second Elder chimed in as well.
"Even the various traps and arrangements we left there were completely destroyed by him."
"If he attacks the other four peripheral outposts, who can stop him?"
Thwack.
The First Elder lightly tapped the table and glanced at them with an indifferent look.
"What's the panic?"
"It's just a temporary outpost we lost."
"Even if we handed over the remaining four outposts to him on a silver platter, what would it matter?"
The First Elder stood up, hands behind his back, his face serene and wearing an air of profound mystery.
"No matter how well Lin Mo can fight, he's just a brute crashing around with nothing but raw strength."
"It's impossible for him to find this place."
"Our Dragon Temple headquarters is located in an absolutely isolated folded space."
"As long as the headquarters isn't exposed and the Dragon Temple's foundation remains, we can raise another army of a hundred thousand at any time."
The First Elder walked to the center of the hall, looking up at the star-map dome above.
"Send out the order: have everyone in the remaining four outposts evacuate. Leave the empty cities for Lin Mo to smash."
"Once he's tired of smashing, he'll naturally scurry back to his Core City."
"When the Dragon King has fully awakened, today's humiliation will be repaid a thousandfold."
After hearing this, the two elders' racing hearts settled down a bit.
The First Elder was right.
This folded space was a spatial node personally set up by the Dragon King back then. Never mind a Third-Rank like Lin Mo; even an Eighth-Rank powerhouse from the Extraterrestrial Battlefield wouldn't be able to find their location.
Stay steady!
They had absolutely no reason to panic!
Just then.
The space in front of the hall suddenly distorted violently.
The Fourth Elder, who was responsible for intelligence monitoring, practically tumbled out of a spatial rift. He slammed headfirst into a jade pillar, not even pausing to wipe the blood from his forehead.
"B-Big Brother! Something's happened!"
The First Elder frowned.
"Did Lin Mo go to Outpost No. 2 or Outpost No. 3? Why such a flustered display? Where is your decorum!"
The Fourth Elder scrambled to his feet, his voice cracking.
"He went to neither! After leaving Outpost No. 1, he didn't even look at the other directions. He tore through the void and headed straight for our headquarters!"
The hall instantly fell deathly silent.
The smile on the Second Elder's face froze, and he swallowed hard.
"Fourth Brother, the Great Desolation is so big... is it possible he's just passing by?"
"Passing by my ass!"
The Fourth Elder slammed the Monitoring Array Disk onto the ground.
"Our headquarters is over 1.5 million kilometers away from Outpost No. 5, and it's nine thousand meters underground!"
"He dove six thousand meters into the earth and is charging straight at us in a perfectly straight line! You call that passing by?!"
The composure and calm on the First Elder's face vanished instantly.
He lunged toward the array disk.
On the disk, a red dot representing extreme danger was closing in on the headquarters' spatial coordinates at an absurd speed!
Estimated time of arrival: less than three minutes!
"How is that possible! How could he have locked onto our location?!"
The First Elder shoved the Fourth Elder aside and made a split-second decision.
"Notify the Inner Guard. Have them bring the void rings immediately. We're leaving now!"
The Third Elder was stunned.
"Big Brother, this... what about the remaining forty thousand guards and their families?"
"We can't worry about that anymore!"
The First Elder rushed toward the teleportation array at the back of the hall like a whirlwind.
"Take the treasury resources and initiate an Ultra-Long Distance Spatial Shift immediately. Teleport the core of the hall to the West Pole Ice Field!"
"No matter how bizarre he is, there's no way he can catch up to our Spatial Shift!"
...
Six thousand meters beneath the Great Desolation.
Lin Mo had simultaneously deployed over thirty layers of domains for path-clearing and acceleration.
Soil, rock layers, underground rivers.
Before the meat grinder created by the intersection of the Blade Domain and the Haste Domain, everything was sliced open as easily as tofu.
He simply strolled through the earth.
The thick rock layers ahead couldn't even leave a speck of dust on the hem of his clothes.
Lin Mo raised his left hand.
He was holding the bronze-colored [void treasure seeker].
The blood-red eyeball in the center of the compass was staring fixedly at a certain set of coordinates straight ahead, flashing with golden light.
"One million kilometers left."
Lin Mo let out a yawn.
Just then.
The red eyeball that had been pointing dead ahead suddenly gave a violent shudder.
Then, the eye rolled around and suddenly pointed toward the far distance to the northwest.
The golden coordinate prompts changed drastically along with it.
Lin Mo stopped in his tracks, the shockwave from his step causing a large section of the surrounding underground caves to collapse.
He looked down at the compass in his hand.
That extremely dense mass of spatial energy had actually vanished from the front and moved to the northwest.
A hint of excitement appeared in Lin Mo's eyes.
"As expected of a precious spatial-type treasure; it can actually move on its own!"
"Could this be what they call 'sentient treasures' in novels?"
Lin Mo immediately changed direction and headed toward the West Pole Ice Field.
It was only a matter of a few extra minutes, so Lin Mo didn't find it troublesome.
...
The frigid lands of the northwest.
Amidst the swirling snow, space suddenly tore open.
A battered dark-gold hall, carrying a large group of high-ranking Dragon Generals, crashed heavily out of the void and into the thick ice sheet.
This was the core hall of the Dragon Temple's main headquarters; the peripheral buildings and tens of thousands of people had all been abandoned.
The First Elder, still shaken, slumped onto the damaged throne, gasping for breath.
"Finally... we lost him."
He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, looking at the three void rings clutched tightly in his arms.
These contained the last and most central resources and foundations of the Dragon Temple.
"As long as we have these, we can make a comeback anywhere."
Below the hall, dozens of high-ranking Dragon Generals were also collapsed on the ground, lingering fear in their hearts.
This was more torturous than facing the God of Death.
"Fourth Brother, check the array disk."
The First Elder recovered slightly, returning to his composed and calm demeanor.
The Fourth Elder tremblingly pulled out the Monitoring Array Disk and injected mana into it.
The next second.
The Fourth Elder's eyes bugged out, and he slumped to the ground as if his bones had been removed.
The array disk in his hand rolled to the First Elder's feet.
"Big Brother..."
The First Elder's heart sank, and he barked, "Spit it out!"
The Fourth Elder pointed at the array disk, his voice thick with a sobbing tone.
"He turned with us! And he's even faster than before!"
"He's only eight hundred thousand kilometers away from us now!"
Silence fell over the hall.
The First Elder stared fixedly at the bright red dot on the array disk.
That red dot was like it had some kind of GPS navigation, tracing an arrogant straight line as it pierced toward the West Pole Ice Field!
All the elders suffered a mental breakdown.
The Third Elder jumped up and shattered the ice beneath his feet with a kick.
"What kind of method is this!"
"Why can he find us no matter if we run to the ends of the earth!"
The Space Law they were so proud of, the Ultra-Long Distance Spatial Shift they took such pride in...
Before that kid, it was like a girl who had been stripped naked in public!
Stared at intently, with no privacy whatsoever!
"Big Brother, what do we do!"
"The Ultra-Long Distance Spatial Shift can't be used again in such a short time!"
"He'll be here in a few minutes!"
The Third Elder was so panicked he had already drawn his weapon, not knowing which direction to defend against.
The First Elder was also completely terrified.
His previous composure and calm were gone, and his image of a mastermind in control had completely vanished.
