130: Chapter 129 You get what you pay for
Three seconds later, she suddenly jumped up.
Her delicate face was contorted with an unprecedented rage.
"Lin Mo! Delete that right now!"
Lin Mo ignored her. He extended a finger and pressed pause on the communicator's screen.
He dragged the progress bar again, replaying the clip of the Demon King calling out to him at the end.
"Delete it? On what grounds?"
Lin Mo spoke with righteous confidence,
"I recorded this myself. You think you can just tell me to delete it?"
"State your conditions."
She stared coldly at Lin Mo.
"What conditions?"
Lin Mo pocketed the communicator.
"Name a price."
The Demon King's voice was icy cold.
"Keeping that thing has no practical meaning for you. Hand it over to me, and I will give you the benefits you desire."
Lin Mo rubbed his chin with a playful expression.
"What can you give? Let me see."
The Demon King gave a cold laugh and raised her right hand.
A streak of dark-gold light condensed in her palm.
The light gradually solidified, turning into a diamond-shaped crystal the size of a fingernail.
The interior of the crystal seemed to nurture a piece of the void. As the light circulated, the surrounding space felt a faint sense of stagnation.
"This is a Time-type skill stone, [Time Stasis]."
The Demon King looked at the crystal, her tone carrying a hint of arrogance:
"It shares the same origin as the [Time Cage] and [Time Dagger] I gave you before. However, it contains power from a more fundamental source of laws."
"Absorb it, and you can awaken an extremely rare Time Domain."
Lin Mo's gaze fell upon the crystal.
Four thousand laws intertwined within his body. He could clearly perceive that the time energy contained within that crystal was extremely pure.
If he could refine it into a law, it would further perfect the Time Law within his embryonic world.
"Is it enough?" the Demon King asked.
"It's enough."
Lin Mo agreed extremely readily.
Without any hesitation, he pulled a black square data chip from his pants pocket and tossed it toward the Demon King like a piece of trash.
"The original file is inside."
The Demon King caught the data chip in one hand.
To prevent Lin Mo from playing tricks, she immediately sent a sliver of power into it to investigate.
After confirming that the ultra-high-definition video footage from just now was indeed stored inside, she let out a heavy sigh of relief.
She didn't hesitate for a moment.
Her five fingers suddenly exerted force.
*Bang!*
The hard data chip turned into a cloud of fine powder in her hand and scattered with the wind.
The Demon King clapped her hands, her gaze toward Lin Mo becoming superior once again, even carrying a few hints of mockery:
"Ignorant native. A mere mortal object, yet you dared to record this King's true visage."
She was completely relieved.
The mark of shame had been completely erased. She was still that overlord of the Boundary Sea who schemed against the world.
However, in the next second...
That voice that caused her such shame rang out again.
"Fa... Father..."
On a giant screen, the Demon King was sprawled in the dirt, her face covered in tear stains.
In the tearful close-up shot, even the particles of mud on her face were clearly visible.
The air of superiority the Demon King had just put on instantly shattered into pieces.
Her entire body froze in place, her eyes fixed on that massive screen, and her extended right hand was still shaking uncontrollably.
"You... how do you still have it?!"
The Demon King's voice had distorted.
Lin Mo looked at her with a face full of innocence.
"When did I ever say I only had one copy?"
"You clearly said just now..."
"I said the original file was in there. I never said I didn't make a backup copy."
Lin Mo tapped the casing of the large screen.
"You only bought the source file just now."
"I kept the backup. You get what you pay for; it's a very fair trade."
"Lin Mo! You damned bastard!!!"
The Demon King's vision went dark. She was so dizzy with rage that she almost spat out a mouthful of blood!
This bastard was actually treating her like an ATM!
"Don't be angry."
Lin Mo stood the giant screen up beside him with a smile.
"Do you want to buy the backup? This time, there really is only one copy left."
Fire almost spewed from the Demon King's eyes.
This native's way of doing things was simply more bottomless than a demon's!
"What exactly do you want!"
The Demon King ground her teeth.
Lin Mo reached out and beckoned with his finger.
"Another skill stone that can produce a Domain. It has to be a different one."
"Fine!"
She took an angry breath.
She flipped her right hand, and another ball of light lit up.
This time, it was an oval-shaped crystal that was silver-white all over.
"This is Time Acceleration. it can accelerate the flow of time within a certain range."
The Demon King threw the crystal hard at Lin Mo, her eyes looking as if she wanted to eat him alive.
"This is the last one! If you dare to bring out some backup again, I'll have my true body charge in here and leave you without a corpse!"
Lin Mo caught the crystal easily and weighed it a couple of times.
He gave a casual wave of his hand.
The giant screen, along with the storage device inside, was instantly crushed into nothingness.
"Pleasure doing business with you!"
Lin Mo tossed the silver-white [Time Acceleration] skill stone into the air, caught it firmly in his palm, and casually stuffed it into his pocket.
Two Time-type Mythical skill stones acquired.
He brushed the dust off his hands, feeling extremely refreshed.
He looked up ahead.
On the vast Gobi desert, there was only the whistling wind kicking up a few wisps of yellow sand.
The 6,000th wave of the infinite beast tide had just been wiped out by a casual punch from him.
According to the dungeon's patterns, the next wave of monsters should spawn on time within 10 seconds.
But minute after minute passed.
There was no sign of any spatial distortion ahead. Nor was there the shadow of a single monster.
Lin Mo waited for a full three minutes.
"What's going on?"
Lin Mo kicked a pebble at his feet. The stone flew several kilometers and smashed a large crater into the ground.
"Is there a bug? Or did the dungeon server crash?"
The Demon King stood a dozen meters away, having just straightened her messy black robes.
Hearing Lin Mo's complaints, she mocked him.
"A bug? A native is just a native; your knowledge is pitifully shallow."
The Demon King crossed her arms and slightly tilted her delicate chin.
"You really think there's such a thing as a so-called infinite dungeon?"
"There is no such thing as an infinite thing in this world, unless it's... forget it, you wouldn't understand."
Lin Mo turned his head to look at her without responding.
The Demon King enjoyed this moment of lecturing the native.
"This place is called the Gate of World-Breaking."
"In reality, it is a massive seal constructed from countless rule fragments by your world's will to plug the cracks in the Boundary Sea."
"Those monsters you killed just now were merely defective products that automatically evolved from rule fragments combined with void energy."
The Demon King pointed a finger toward the sky.
"Seals always have limits, and rule fragments also have an end."
"There was never any so-called infinite dungeon. It's just that before, no native was ever able to reach the limit of this seal."
Lin Mo understood.
"In other words."
Lin Mo rubbed his chin,
"I've grinded this infinite dungeon to its level cap?"
"You could understand it that way."
The Demon King looked at him coldly.
"If you keep fighting, what you'll break is this sealing formation itself!"
"Beyond this sealing formation lies the true Boundary Sea!"
"In the eyes of those indescribable evil gods, giant Void Creatures, and the stowaways wandering in the Boundary Sea, you are just a delicious little cupcake!"
Lin Mo was lost in thought.
"Void Creatures, huh?"
