25: Chapter 25 Reflections on Enhancing the Fate Platform
The announcement hung in everyone's consciousness, red as dripping blood.
Both large group chats were silent for three seconds, then exploded.
The Wang family group was in total chaos. The cousin sent a barrage of voice messages crying that she didn't want to die, the younger cousin shouted that his boat still had holes leaking, and Auntie only sent the three words, "What do we do?" Uncle tried to stabilize the situation, but was immediately undercut by his own juniors: "Uncle, your boat planks aren't any better than mine."
The Yang family's large group was much the same. Second Uncle's voice trembled as he said he was in the shallow sea area with no shelter; Uncle-in-law sighed, saying his rotten-wood grade dock would fall apart at a touch. Panic spread, filling the screen with questions: How do we reinforce?
Then someone quietly popped up with a sentence: "Yang Hang's family boat has cannons and radar; they'll definitely be fine..."
Another message floated up right after: "But with that kind of boat, won't the Magic Sea Beast Tide rush toward them even more?"
Yang Hang scrolled back and forth between the two groups, not saying a word.
In his own private family group, Mom and Dad were criticizing his younger sister.
Mother blamed her for posting photos randomly, and Yang Jianguo said that one shouldn't flaunt wealth. Yang Yue sent a crying emoji to apologize, and Yang Hang chimed in to say let it be, it wouldn't affect him. The topic quickly shifted to that deadly announcement.
Yang Jianguo told his wife and daughter to stay where they were, activate their defenses, and wait for him to arrive. Mother firmly opposed this, telling him to find their daughter first. Yang Yue also refused, saying she had supernatural abilities to protect herself and insisted that Dad go find Mom first. The three argued in a mess, and Mother finally delivered an ultimatum: if they didn't listen to her, she would divorce him immediately after leaving the Magic Sea.
Yang Hang waited until they finished arguing, then sent two messages.
"Mom, Dad, Little Yue, listen to me. Stay where you are tonight, activate your defenses, and leave the rest to me."
He paused, then added another sentence: "As for the relatives, I will help if I have the spare capacity."
The group was silent for a few seconds.
Mother finally only replied with one sentence: "Xiao Xing, prioritize yourself. As for us, it's all fate."
Yang Hang didn't reply again.
He scrolled through the messages in the three groups again.
Having comforted his parents, Yang Hang took a moment to look at the Cause and Effect Fate Platform; clearly, once this Magic Sea announcement came out, all the survivors in the Magic Sea world were in an uproar.
Survivors from other civilizations were okay, left to digest their shock and panic on their own, but the Yanxia survivors, who had communication through the Cause and Effect Fate Platform, had already made the Fate Platform boil like a pot of water.
Whether it was the World Echo, regional echo, or group chat echoes, the chat messages in every communication domain were filling up the screens.
Panic, shock, excitement, agitation, annoyance, despair, regret, and various other emotions spread across the entire Fate Platform.
Help-seeking posts, discussion posts, team-up posts, and beast-hunting posts were issued like a tide.
It was obvious that, except for a few, even the Yanxia civilization, which currently had the advantage of the Cause and Effect Fate Platform, was still filled with fear and worry about this unknown Magic Sea Beast Tide.
Because quite a few people had, to varying degrees, encountered some of the unique, fierce, and bizarre sea beasts of this Magic Sea territory over the past few days and understood how formidable they were.
Fear was born from this.
Yang Hang furrowed his brows tightly and looked toward the dock fishing spot that was still emitting a faint blue halo.
His plan probably had to change.
He wasn't too worried about himself and his family.
He had opened the silver dock for his family, and various life-saving abilities and equipment had also been opened today; combined with the Karmic lines he had set as protection, there was definitely no need to worry about personal safety. The only variable was whether his younger sister, Yang Yue, and his father would get addicted to hunting the beast tide.
As for himself, he lived on a golden giant ship, and not to mention that his food, drink, and safety guarantees were fully maxed out, by relying on his own abilities as the Lord of Causality, he could, in a sense, have his wishes fulfilled and traverse the Magic Sea at will.
This Magic Sea Beast Tide was actually no different from usual for him.
Oh, that's not right; perhaps he would also go fight the beast tide just like his younger sister's father... and he was inexplicably looking forward to it.
So, could it be that today's treasure chest would open a chest that would increase his individual means of hunting sea beasts?
Superpowers? Immortal arts? Physical arts?
And what about teleportation, invincibility, invulnerability, and things like that—abilities that would make him drool just hearing about them before his Transmigration into the Magic Sea?
Amazing! Truly amazing. Right now, just thinking about himself obtaining these abilities, slaughtering in all directions within the Magic Sea Beast Tide, traversing the four seas, and turning the world upside down felt incredibly satisfying.
But the next moment, he denied it himself.
No!
The only things he truly needed were of one category.
Things that could make the Fate Platform stronger, that could help all Yanxia survivors improve their survival capabilities in this Magic Sea Beast Tide, or even obtain higher rewards and merit points.
The Cause and Effect Fate Platform and all the Yanxia survivors were one of the foundations for his ability to traverse this Magic Sea, and even for future interdimensional civilization hegemony.
Only by making the Fate Platform increasingly powerful, and the Yanxia survivors increasingly powerful, would he become increasingly powerful.
So, what he needed to think about now was how to use today's sunken sea treasure chest to strengthen his Fate Platform's abilities or enhance the survival capabilities of all Yanxia survivors.
What is the Fate Platform? An information network woven by the Power of Causality. 1.4 billion Karmic lines converged into that boundless abyss of energy in his mind. If the Fate Platform is strong, Karma is strong. If Karma is strong, the Opportunities he can glimpse, the risks he can avoid, and the future he can leverage all become stronger along with it.
And what ability could make the Fate Platform stronger?
Deduction types, information types, Karmic perception types—developing any one of these directions could achieve this step.
In his mind, Yang Hang had already shoved all abilities auxiliary to his individual combat into the trash heap in the corner, leaving all his brain's thinking space for directions that would assist the Fate Platform.
Then he sank his consciousness, invoked the Power of Causality, and began to peer forward.
The future is fluid. What he could see were countless branching possibilities—rotten-wood, bronze, silver, and gold appearing alternately, with the contents of the chests being strange and varied.
After scanning around, his mouth corners pressed down slightly; there were still many methods.
"The highest is gold, huh."
President Shen Qing's analysis post wasn't wrong; opening gold with 610,000 merit points, his upper limit at this magnitude was just that.
Magic Sea territory, is this all the sincerity you have?
Forget it, as long as it's enough to use.
He didn't hesitate any longer; with a movement of the Power of Causality, he anchored the fate line of the golden treasure chest among the myriad futures.
He reached out and touched the chest.
Golden light exploded.
As the light faded, the object lying in the chest was beyond his expectations.
It was not a token, not a weapon, and not a skill book.
It was a seashell.
It had a deep blue shell, unassuming on the surface, but inside, tiny specks of light flowed slowly, like stardust from the night sky pressed into a small container.
[Ding! You have obtained the wonder "magic sea compass".]
"magic sea compass": Can scan the surrounding sea area for material distribution, sea beast traces, weather changes, and detailed information about objects.]
Yang Hang stared at this line of description for a full five seconds.
An ordinary person seeing this would probably frown—material scanning, sea beast warning; frankly, it's just a scouting skill, with zero attack power, and even the basic Identification Technique could overlap with its functions.
But Yang Hang's first reaction was not "mediocre."
