17: Chapter 17 Warm Spirit Domain, Hunting Grounds

On August 12th, Ye Jianxing sent him a stack of information.

"Go to this place. If you encounter any obstacles on the way, handle them yourself. You can act boldly without any worries. If things don't work out, just reveal your identity."

Although Ye Jianxing was assigning a mission, his words provided a sense of security that no bodyguard could offer.

Chen Xing carefully reviewed the information and understood what the other meant.

Teacher Ye wanted him to go to a hunting ground, team up with others, hunt together, and specifically required him to kill certain Yao Beasts.

To this end, the teacher also gave him a list of key parts from different Yao Beasts.

"Ten horns of Thunder-Horned Rhinos, ten pairs of wings from Mysterious Wind Falcons, and ten fruits of Fire Spring Trees. Teacher, are you using me as your supplier?" Chen Xing quipped.

"Just a reminder, the Hunting Zone isn't just full of Yao Beasts; it's a mixed bag of people, including many vicious criminals, and the order there is chaotic," Ye Jianxing sent another message.

"A mixed bag... Does that place have something like a black market?" Chen Xing pondered.

"Yes, but since you have no money, it's best not to go in. Otherwise, you'll be the best ingredient in others' eyes," Ye Jianxing said.

"Those people actually eat humans?" Chen Xing was shocked.

"The world is full of wonders; many places have cults. To them, the pure light power within you is definitely the rarest treasure. Do not go near them," Ye Jianxing warned.

"Since there are such twisted and unethical heretics, why doesn't the Alliance wipe them out?" Chen Xing was puzzled.

"This matter is complicated, not as simple as you think. In short, they can't be completely eliminated, and the Alliance is also wary of them," Ye Jianxing said.

Chen Xing understood that his teacher was telling him not to ask further; there were things he wasn't ready to know yet.

The next day, he took Li Qingyi and the others to the destination.

...

Wenling Domain was located outside the Tianhe System.

At first glance, the name suggested a decent area, but in reality, half of it was under the shadow of the underworld.

Besides the black market, there were many Hunting Zones here. People who wanted to make money but lacked other channels would basically come here to hunt Yao Beasts and sell them to the black market.

Inside the city, there was a post station belonging to the academy.

"Boss, there are no good people in the Wenling Domain. To be safe, take these with you," Li Qingyi said, handing over several small jade plaques.

"Mhm." Chen Xing tucked them into his bag.

These were life-saving Magical Artifacts. Although not as good as the one Ye Jianxing gave him, they were academy-made and contained the power of several Spirit Seed Realm experts.

All in all, there were five pieces, which was enough for now.

Before setting off, Chen Xing checked his equipment.

He wore a suit of black clothes and looked ordinary, though his appearance and temperament were somewhat outstanding. More importantly, all the clothes he wore were Magical Artifacts.

Furthermore, Ye Jianxing had given him a silver sword with a star pattern engraved on the hilt, which was the most suitable sword-type weapon for the Light System.

"Having a good teacher is so comfortable; he's never stingy with anything!" Chen Xing smiled slightly.

Immediately, he stepped off the train and headed straight for the northern Hunting Zone.

...

Outside the Northwest Hunting Zone were several large buildings belonging to the administrators. To obtain hunting qualifications, one had to come here and wait in line to purchase them.

It was only eight in the morning, but a long queue had already formed. Chen Xing wore a hood and hid in the crowd, looking inconspicuous.

There was no need to worry about his aura either, as his clothes were Magical Artifacts with concealment effects that no one below the Spirit Seed Realm could see through.

"Name."

"Chen Feng."

"Gender."

Chen Xing: "?"

The man at the counter was thin and weak, seemingly lethargic from working overtime for too long, with dark circles under his eyes.

He looked up, gave a listless glance, and after confirming he was a man, began typing on the keyboard.

"Pay the deposit first, one thousand Star Coinss."

Star Coinss were the universal currency of the entire Universe. On ordinary planets, they used cut plates, which were incomplete and lacked much spirituality.

Naturally, the current Chen Xing was not short of Star Coinss.

He paid the money, and the man at the counter handed him a token engraved with a lion's head, about the size of a palm and made of a special material.

Li Qingyi was very helpful, having briefed him on the relevant knowledge before he arrived.

This kind of token could track location and record personal information, allowing them to know how long someone stayed in the Hunting Zone, as it charged based on time.

It was impossible for anyone to sneak away because they couldn't leave the Hunting Zone without a token. Guards at the main gate would be watching, and anyone coming out would be taken to settle their fees.

"It's dangerous inside. I'll find a team first and just go with the flow," Chen Xing thought.

He walked to a nearby square crowded with people, almost all of whom were hunters looking to team up.

The Hunting Zone was too dangerous, with life and death being unpredictable. No one knew how many people perished there every year; having one more person meant an extra layer of security.

Except for those who were extremely confident, no one wanted to act alone.

Chen Xing searched around and didn't hide his identity as an S-class, but he ended up being met with suspicion.

"Buddy, I know everyone here wants to hide their identity, but you should at least make up a reasonable one," someone couldn't help but say.

"Do I even need to make it up? I really am an S-class," Chen Xing was speechless; he had revealed his identity, and yet people still doubted him.

"Stop your bullshit!" a short-tempered person couldn't help but swear.

In a place like this, it was hard to even see a B-class, let alone the legendary S-class.

Besides, information about S-class Espers had long since spread across the network. They remembered who those people were; how could they not recognize him?

"Fine, fine, go find someone else then. Our little team really can't accommodate a great deity like you. Find someone better!" The man cupped his fists, then turned and left.

Chen Xing facepalmed, completely at a loss for words.

The surroundings were bustling with people, everyone busy with their own business, seemingly not caring at all about this so-called S-class Genius.

Just as he was at his wits' end, someone approached him.

"Brother, I heard you're a Light Element user?" The newcomer was a blue-haired youth with a slender build and long clothes, looking neat and capable.

"Yes, I am," Chen Xing nodded.

"What specific class are you? Could you reveal that?" the blue-haired youth asked with a smile.

"S-class," Chen Xing told him truthfully.

Blue-haired youth: "..."

He couldn't help but say, "Brother, if you really can't say, we can talk privately. There's no need for this."

A burly man with short red hair walked up from behind and said, "I've seen many people playing the pig to eat the tiger, but brother, there's really no need for you to actively play the tiger."

Chen Xing fell silent. Two seconds later, he lowered his voice and said, "C-class, Profound Light System."

Li Tan smiled. "Let's get acquainted. I'm Li Tan, C-class Thunder Blade. This guy is Zhou Chen, C-class Blood Lion."

According to the introduction, their team had four people in total. The other two were a man and a woman; the man's name was Lu Wu, and the woman's name was Xia Qinger.
