33: Chapter 33 Girls in the Club

Recently, Qin Feng had been returning to the academy from time to time to participate in some club activities.

Tianhe Academy, a certain dance hall.

Many people were gathered here, mostly freshmen and sophomores, including students from the Element Department, Department of Physical Taoism, Department of Artifact Taoism... and various other departments.

In a corner, Qin Feng was dressed in a black formal suit, sipping fine wine and recording a live video.

"Old Chen, look at this atmosphere. I think it's pretty good, and there are plenty of beauties. Do you have time to come? There's going to be a martial arts exchange later; we'll probably be hanging out until tomorrow morning," he sent to Chen Xing.

"Not in the mood." Chen Xing replied with only those three words.

Qin Feng paused. Had something happened?

"Are you in trouble? Do you need me?" he asked directly.

"Then let me tell you a story." Chen Xing happened to be feeling a bit depressed, so he recounted his recent experience from beginning to end.

"Damn, the Evil Path? How is your luck so bad? You ran into them on your very first trial away from home." Qin Feng shook his head repeatedly.

"What a pity. Xiao Xia was a good person; how could he die so young... Sigh, I wonder what Shengyuan Academy will do about this." He sighed.

"I don't know, but they definitely won't just sit idly by. Their person died within the boundaries of the Tianhe System, so they'll surely come demanding an explanation," Chen Xing said.

"Then don't blame yourself too much. After all, who could have reacted in that situation?" Qin Feng comforted him.

Chen Xing fell silent. Regarding the situation at the time, he had actually raised his vigilance to the highest level.

The reason he hadn't reacted was that his precautions only applied to himself, not others.

No matter what, Lu Wu, Xiao Xia, and the others were just teammates he had met recently; Chen Xing couldn't possibly focus his energy on them.

It just so happened that he had been surrounded by a herd of rhinoceroses at the time and was too far away to save them.

Qin Feng added, "And think about it, those two guys were both in the Divine Sea Realm. Not only was their cultivation higher than yours, but they also had Magical Artifacts to hide their presence. How could you have detected them? This isn't your fault at all."

Chen Xing nodded slightly. "I know, I'm just a bit unwilling to accept it. If I fail to detect an opponent's true cultivation next time, won't I be the one to suffer?"

Qin Feng paused and asked, "So, what do you plan to do?"

"I'll Cultivate Battle Techniques in this area—perception types. I absolutely won't allow this to happen again," Chen Xing said seriously.

"Alright, I believe in you," Qin Feng said, though in his heart, he also wanted to Cultivate similar Battle Techniques.

After all, in a place like the Hunting Zone, one couldn't easily trust anyone. With such an example before him, he had to be prepared.

The two stopped talking and went back to their own business.

"Qingyao, I was just over there. Why are you sitting here?"

At the table next to Qin Feng's, two girls were talking and playfully pulling at each other.

A pink-haired girl was grabbing another black-haired girl, gesturing for her to go to the livelier area to drink with everyone.

Before coming, Qin Feng had learned about some of the people; these two were Lin Qingyao and Li Linglong.

"No, I still prefer a bit of peace and quiet," the black-haired girl said, shaking her head with a smile.

"Huh? Just a few days ago you said staying cooped up alone was too boring. Why the sudden change of heart?" The pink-haired girl stood with her hands on her hips, staring straight at her.

"It is boring, but I just got back from the Hunting Zone today and I'm really tired. Let me drink in peace for a bit," Lin Qingyao said, waving her hand.

"Oh—! No wonder you didn't answer when I called yesterday. You actually went hunting by yourself? Why didn't you take me along?" Li Linglong seemed somewhat dissatisfied.

"I asked if you wanted to come out, but didn't you say you were going shopping with your boyfriend and had no time?" Lin Qingyao countered.

"Ah? Did that happen?" Hearing this, Li Linglong was stunned for a moment. She quickly recalled and checked the chat records on her Optical Computer.

"Oh, that night at the hotel, I thought you wanted me to go shopping with you. Uh... next time, just state your purpose directly, okay? The Hunting Zone is so dangerous; if you had said that, I definitely would have gone with you!" She slapped her forehead.

"Forget it, I wouldn't dare disturb the fun you two were having. I heard you bought quite a few clothes; were you wearing them for him that night?" Lin Qingyao teased.

"Oh, don't talk nonsense! There are outsiders here!" Li Linglong's face turned red.

"Alright, alright. Help me order another glass of Blue Wine and go back to what you were doing," Lin Qingyao said with a smile.

"Fine, I'm off to have fun then." With that, Li Linglong skipped away.

Lin Qingyao watched her leave with a smile. After a moment, she felt it was a bit quiet, so she turned around and began looking at her Optical Computer.

However, as she looked up, her eyes met a gaze, and the atmosphere froze in that instant.

Qin Feng realized what was happening and quickly turned his head away.

"Cough... sorry." Qin Feng looked embarrassed. Eavesdropping on someone's conversation was impolite no matter how you looked at it, and he couldn't find an excuse.

Lin Qingyao glanced at him, narrowed her eyes slightly, and asked tentatively, "Are you... Qin Feng?"

Hearing this, Qin Feng was startled.

He stood up abruptly, his eyes wide. "Wait, big sister, I just accidentally overheard your conversation. I really didn't mean to. There's no need to call me out like that, is there?"

Lin Qingyao was speechless, looking at him as if he were a fool.

She didn't explain but turned her Optical Computer around.

Qin Feng looked closely and saw that it was a topic on the school forum about Grade A freshmen; someone had posted about him.

Over the past few days, he had occasionally participated in club activities and gatherings, so his reputation had gradually spread. Everyone knew he was a Grade A Dragon Soul Body.

"Oh... I see. You gave me a fright." Qin Feng rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.

Lin Qingyao glanced at him and stopped talking, continuing to scroll through forum videos.

Qin Feng was silent, feeling a bit of interest in this somewhat cold girl.

If he remembered correctly, the families within the Tianhe System that could be called great families included the Lin Family, in addition to the Mu Family.

Lin Qingyao was the daughter of the current head of the Lin Family. She also had an older brother, and together they were known as the Lin Family's Twin Stars, both possessing extraordinary talent.

But how should he strike up a conversation with a girl?

This was something Old Chen, that perennial bachelor, definitely wouldn't know how to do. Although Qin Feng had some experience, this person was on a completely different level than his ex-girlfriend.

"Sorry, I was impolite just now," Qin Feng said after some thought.

Lin Qingyao gave him a flat look and was about to speak when she saw him hand over a business card.

"If you ever need any help, I can assist. Consider it an apology for my rudeness just now," Qin Feng said seriously.

"Is this supposed to be polite?" Lin Qingyao said coldly.

"Oh... sorry. Then just pretend I never said anything." Qin Feng coughed dryly and silently withdrew his hand.

However, Lin Qingyao pressed down on the business card and said, "Next Monday, I'm organizing a hunting team. Remember to come."

Qin Feng grinned. "Alright, I'll definitely be there!"
