144: Choose Trust

Big bosses, my body is a year older, but my soul is a year younger. (●ˇ∀ˇ●)

Thank you all for your support and encouragement. (•̀ ω •́)y

I hope you are all safe, healthy, and happy. (●'◡'●)

Happiness!!! ┗|`O ′| ┛ Awoo~~

The hovercar parked smoothly into the club's parking lot. The door opened, and the sweltering night wind, carrying the beat of the music, rushed toward him.

Jiang Feng carried his black briefcase and stepped out of the car.

Gold-Wrapped Silver leapt down, and Little Handsome followed quietly, like its shadow.

The moment he approached the club's main entrance.

A strange, almost viscous atmosphere, like a cold tide, instantly enveloped him.

Usually, whether inside or outside the door, whether it was the scantily clad dancers, the muscular security guards, or the waiters weaving through the crowd delivering drinks, whenever they saw him, they would always cast glances of either awe or sycophancy.

There was even no lack of bold flirtation.

But tonight, everything had changed.

Those gazes were like poison-tipped whips.

The two security guards at the entrance immediately fell silent as he passed by and no longer opened the door for him. Their eyes were like cold searchlights, locked tightly onto him, their muscles tense, filled with undisguised vigilance and hostility.

Those looks were not those of seeing an acquaintance, but rather of seeing an enemy who had intruded upon their territory with malicious intent.

In the bizarre and kaleidoscopic hall, several dancers who were flirting by the bar saw him enter, and the smiles on their faces instantly froze.

They immediately turned into undisguised disdain and whispers, their red lips curled, their eyes looking as if they were examining a dirty rag.

A waiter carrying a tray stiffened noticeably when he saw him, quickly lowered his head, and hurried past, as if he were carrying a plague.

The fighters were even more exaggerated; every one of them seemed eager to puff out their chests and come over to pick a fight.

Jiang Feng was very glad he had brought Little Handsome and Gold-Wrapped Silver with him; they prevented anyone from making any irrational, extreme moves.

In the air, the originally decadent atmosphere now seemed mixed with invisible gunpowder smoke.

The massive waves of music vibrated against his eardrums, but Jiang Feng clearly caught fragments of the suppressed discussion.

Interspersed with sharp words like "traitor," "turncoat," and "liar."

They were like small centipedes, crawling through the gaps in the clamor.

But at the same time, Jiang Feng also saw many gazes filled with sympathy and trust, such as from the bartender "A-Qiang" and the dancer "Jiajia."

Even a big, muscular fighter who had once blocked him even gave him a distant salute.

But they could not say it out loud, nor could they rashly express support; the most they could do was give a look.

Jiang Feng understood them; everyone looks out for themselves, which is nothing to be ashamed of.

Jiang Feng's expression was calm.

He ignored all the glaring gazes and silent discussions cast his way. His pace did not falter in the slightest, nor did he attempt to explain or greet anyone.

Walking straight through the hall of blurred lights and chaotic dancing, Jiang Feng arrived at the back area and walked toward the exclusive elevator leading to the top floor.

Those malicious gazes that tried to block his path subconsciously shrank back when they met his cold, waveless eyes.

The elevator ascended silently, the metal walls of the cabin reflecting his expressionless face.

The elevator door opened, and the area where Molly's office was located was as quiet as another world.

In the hallway, outside that heavy door, stood a silent mountain.

Noli's nearly 2.5-meter-tall, massive frame was wrapped in black. Its matte exoskeleton looked black at first glance, but upon closer inspection, it was a very special camouflage pattern.

It crossed its arms, like an eternal guardian statue.

As Jiang Feng approached, its deep gaze fell upon him.

There was no scrutiny, no suspicion, only a kind of tranquility.

It turned slightly, asked nothing, and said nothing; it simply extended its massive palm, covered in exoskeleton armor, and silently pushed open the heavy office door.

Warm light spilled out from inside, along with the faint, cold scent of perfume that belonged to Molly.

From that brief exchange of glances with Noli, Jiang Feng read a message that calmed his mind.

It was trust.

Inside the office, Molly stood before the massive floor-to-ceiling window, her back to the door, gazing at the neon lights outside.

She was wearing a velvet gown today, the black fabric outlining her graceful yet powerful curves.

Her calves, wrapped in black silk, would vaguely peek out from the slit in the skirt as she took slight steps, only to hide back again.

It was just like those charcoal-colored cats—reaching out, pulling back, reaching out, pulling back, back and forth, very cute.

Hearing the door open, she turned around.

On that face capable of turning the world upside down, there was no usual teasing smile or sharp edge, but rather a layer of faint exhaustion and lingering gloom.

She looked at Jiang Feng, said nothing, and just sighed softly.

Molly shook her wrist, and the wristband on her fair wrist lit up.

A light screen was projected into the air, showing the chat history of an encrypted high-level group within the club.

Messages were scrolling like an avalanche.

"Is Molly for real? She's calling it quits? Then what about the rest of us? Setting up our own factions? Or going out to drink the northwest wind?"

"I heard that guy surnamed Jiang is a degenerate gambler who whispered some pillow talk and emptied our club's assets to fill his bottomless pit!"

"And that's not all! The news was leaked by him! It's spread like wildfire on the streets!"

"Ingrate! He probably took someone's bribe to come and seduce Molly."

"Where's the evidence? What if all this was fabricated by outsiders just to make us kill each other?"

"What more evidence do you need? Can you dare say it has nothing to do with Jiang Feng? Molly must have been deceived! There's no doubt about that."

"People's hearts have scattered... That pack of mad dogs, Garol's crew, will definitely seize this opportunity to bite."

"Not just them, but the Iron Hand Gang too. A whole bunch of scum, some guy called Brother Mantis, has already come to my place to cause trouble."

"Molly must step forward and give us an explanation."

"That's right, that guy named Jiang Feng must die."

"Not only that, Molly has an obligation to disclose her account records so we can feel at ease..."

Every word and sentence pointed directly at Jiang Feng. Those two-faced branch managers who were usually sycophantic were now taking the opportunity to bare their tusks.

Jiang Feng's gaze swept over the scrolling, malicious text, his face still devoid of any expression.

It was as if none of this had anything to do with him.

He walked calmly to the large sofa, sat down, and leaned back slightly.

He did not look at the light screen that was still constantly refreshing, nor was he in a hurry to defend himself.

He simply raised his eyes, looking steadily and directly into Molly's eyes.

In his deep eyes, there was no panic, no grievance, only a vast, open calm and... a silent question.

'Do you trust me, or do you trust them?'

The silent words rose from Jiang Feng's heart and were transmitted through his eyes.

The office was silent, with only the faint flickering of neon lights from outside the window.

Molly met his gaze without blinking.

Time seemed to freeze for a few seconds.

Then, Molly made a move that even surprised Jiang Feng slightly.

She took a deep breath, her full chest heaving, as if she had made up her mind about something.

She shook her wrist, and the light screen extinguished naturally.

She took a step, her high heels treading on the thick carpet, and walked straight to Jiang Feng.

Without a shred of hesitation.

For the first time, she proactively, with an almost declarative posture, sat sideways into his arms, onto his lap.

Her warm, fragrant body fell into his arms, carrying her unique, cold scent and surprising suppleness.

All the suspicion, all the rumors, all the heavy pressure.

At this moment, all of it was dispelled to the nine heavens by this sudden intimate action.

The tense air in the office was instantly replaced by a more intimate, more scorching atmosphere.
