90: StarDigger Data Cores (4.3K!)

Jiang Feng walked up to the wreckage and shook his wristband.

The wristband projected an interface that was even more complex and detailed than yesterday's; it was a product of the Cybrex Warforge.

Jiang Feng had only one adjective for it: "flawless."

He didn't start dismantling it immediately, but instead let the worker bees and artisan begin a free scan.

He believed that even if the blueprints were identical, anything created by the Armory would be N times more powerful than the original machine.

Sure enough, the worker bees seemed to have ideas of their own; all ten of them gathered near the scrapped No. 1 energy pod.

The artisan was different; it circled around, as if making some kind of assessment.

Within moments, the interface before Jiang Feng changed rapidly. Not only did the structural diagram become clearer, but a real-time energy scan map was also added, showing that the worker bees had found several important energy circuits.

These energy circuits ran through the entire star digger, connecting the four energy pods together.

"Mainframe, deep synchronization."

Jiang Feng was not afraid of exposing his AI assistant; in this era, it would be strange not to have an AI assistant.

"worker bee swarm, target: isolate and cut off the residual energy circuits."

He gave the order, and the Mainframe cooperated by adjusting the drone parameters.

[Work Preset: Gamma-9, Synchronization Rate 100%.]

The Mainframe's feedback refreshed in text form.

The hovering worker bee swarm responded instantly; unlike the disorganized rabble of yesterday, they were a perfectly coordinated orchestra.

Several worker bees gathered together, approaching the dangerous energy cable.

Their movements were coordinated and without redundancy. They first cut separately, and once the cutting power was insufficient and the rate slowed down...

...several worker bees could complete calibration within milliseconds, firing laser beams simultaneously and merging them precisely in mid-air!

'Impressive.'

Jiang Feng praised them in his heart; he was the only person present who understood the technology.

Several slender lasers converged on the protective layer into a more concentrated, more lethal beam, precisely scorching the insulation layer.

Amazingly, this convergence produced almost no noticeable energy diffraction and caused almost no interference to the surrounding fragile areas.

This required unimaginable light wave control technology and synchronized calculation of optical phases.

Meanwhile, the seemingly clumsy artisans were not idle either.

They extended their powerful mechanical arms, selecting suitable metal from the relatively intact wreckage fragments scattered on the ground.

The massive hydraulic pliers, like the strength of a god, easily straightened the twisted steel plates and cut them into the required sizes.

Then, accompanied by the "hissing" sound of laser welding, support columns and reinforcement beams that looked rough and simple at first glance, but were full of industrial aesthetics upon closer inspection, appeared one after another.

They were placed, welded, riveted, and bolted onto the critical load-bearing parts of the wreckage, as well as the fragile connection points.

With these new supports, the triangular wreckage became stable, less prone to collapse, and vibrations were reduced.

As the artisan finished the reinforcement, Jiang Feng saw that it was time.

"worker bee swarm, target: No. 3 and No. 4 energy pod shells and internal components."

The Mainframe cooperated by adjusting the parameters.

[Work Preset: Omega-2, Vibration Compensation: Enabled. Thermal Management: Maximum.]

The real dismantling began.

The worker bees displayed even more breathtaking precision and coordination.

Cutting blades and laser beams took turns; when they encountered complex internal structures, they no longer needed to repeatedly adjust their paths like yesterday—they would collaborate directly.

Some were responsible for fixing, some for cutting, and some for clearing debris; their movements were smooth and fluid.

The most impressive thing was that they always kept the vibration frequency generated by the cutting at an extremely subtle level.

This could disrupt the inherent weak vibration frequency of the wreckage itself, minimizing the disaster that resonance might cause.

At the same time, under the control of the Mainframe, the heat generated by the cutting was suppressed by micro-cooling nozzles carried by the worker bees.

Jiang Feng looked over; no matter how he looked, he could only see a very faint, dark red area around the cutting point, which vanished in an instant.

The shell of the No. 3 energy pod, as well as the intricate internal pipes and energy converters, were all cleanly dismantled.

The No. 4 energy pod was no exception; the worker bees and artisan cooperated, and every part was placed on the ground without a scratch.

Throughout the process, the drone swarm maintained powerful control, regardless of what structure they encountered—melted alloys, fragile ceramics, or tangled cables.

They could all cut and separate at a constant and reassuring rate.

"They are so stable!"

Even if Moli didn't understand technology, she could tell good from bad.

"Indeed."

Jiang Feng didn't say anything more, and certainly didn't mention how the drones were yesterday.

He didn't want to create pressure for Moli, nor did he want to give her an excuse to be unhappy.

Moli paused, then added: "This Mr. S, can I ask him to customize some things for me?"

"I could tell from the drones you bought that his level is quite high, higher than those people I found."

'This is a probe.' Jiang Feng smiled slightly in his heart; what Moli wanted to know was nothing more than his attitude.

This had nothing to do with customizing things, and it had absolutely nothing to do with whether Mr. S's level was high or not.

Jiang Feng turned his head to look at her and smiled faintly: "If it were anyone else, don't even think about it, but..."

He sighed deliberately, tapped on his wristband, and sent Mr. S's contact information over.

"Here you go."

Moli immediately pursed her lips, the corners of her eyes curving upward.

Noli sighed slightly on the side; she really hadn't expected Jiang Feng to be so generous, easily sharing his own connections and channels.

'Doesn't he know that connections are the foundation of standing in society, and channels are the king of opportunities?'

'Or is it that...'

Noli's heart skipped a beat: 'Is he really infatuated with the Young Lady?'

Only silence remained in the air, but from some unknown moment, this silence had been sweetened.

Finally, when the last power interface of the No. 4 energy pod was precisely fused by the laser, the flashing red warning on Jiang Feng's wristband representing the danger of electrical leakage finally went out completely.

"Residual energy circuits, completely cut off!"

Jiang Feng exhaled deeply and shook his head with a smile: "Only now have we completed the first step."

"After shutting down, remove the battery."

With the power cut, it meant the biggest risk had been eliminated.

The speed of dismantling accelerated sharply; with no concerns about self-destruction, the movements of the worker bee swarm became bold and swift.

The last few layers of protective armor covering the core storage unit, as well as the cooling network, were stripped away in no time.

"artisan, prepare to receive the data core!" Jiang Feng shouted.

Two artisans immediately extended the mechanical arms at the top of their bodies, steadily holding a huge "cradle" wrapped in shock-absorbing material, hovering steadily below the core position.

This was to prevent it from falling out.

Soon, the last protective plate was removed, and the dense interfaces and cooling pipelines were dismantled one after another.

An object deeply embedded in a complex base finally revealed its true form.

Moli's breathing stopped; she turned her head to lean closer to Noli, and Noli cooperated by bending down.

"We found the right person!"

Moli's voice was very soft, inaudible to anyone else, like a little girl running out barefoot in the middle of the night to steal cotton candy.

"Young Lady has a discerning eye." Noli nodded sincerely and replied softly.

Moli pursed her lips, looked at Jiang Feng's back, took a deep breath, and smiled in her heart.

'We are accomplices now, Mr. Great Engineer.'

Jiang Feng was fully focused, holding his breath, controlling the worker bees to perform the final base cutting.

This data core was different from traditional processors; it was welded into the slot, apparently to facilitate heat dissipation.

A few faint lasers flashed by, the fixed solder joints were melted, but the data core did not slide out naturally.

Jiang Feng's heart sank, then he felt a surge of joy.

The sinking was because he was afraid that internal deformation would jam the data core inside.

The joy was because he didn't want to see it fall, not even into the "cradle."

This was the safety instinct of an engineer.

The artisan's mechanical claw reached in gently, precisely clamped the data core, pulled it out slowly, took it out completely, and then transferred it to an operation table nearby that had already been prepared and covered with cushioning material.

Jiang Feng immediately leaned in, and Moli also leaned over, their shoulders bumping into each other.

"You did it!" Moli exclaimed in surprise.

However, Jiang Feng only took one look, and the joy on his face vanished completely, as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.

The data core lying quietly on the operation table was not in the chassis or server form he had expected.

It was a transparent cylindrical body about half a meter long and about twenty centimeters in diameter.

Both ends were heavy alloy interface covers, and through the crystal-clear, high-strength crystal shell, the internal structure could be clearly seen.

Dozens of layers of vertically arranged, thin-as-cicada-wings dark chips were fixed side by side, like dense bookshelves in a library.

These chips had advanced architecture, integrated storage and computing, optoelectronic co-processing, and extremely high efficiency.

But the problem was that inside this cylinder, it should have been filled with a certain pale golden oily liquid.

It possessed a very high thermal conductivity coefficient, used to conduct the huge heat generated by the chip's operation out.

At the same time, it could also absorb impact energy for the chips, forming a protective buffer.

However, at this moment, near the interface cover at one end, a tiny crack was clearly visible!

The pale golden liquid seeped out from the crack, spreading a small pool of oil stains on the cushioning material of the operation table.

And the liquid level inside the cylinder had already dropped by nearly a third.

'Damn, won't all our efforts be in vain?'

Jiang Feng's vision almost went black; he hurriedly steadied his breathing and checked carefully.

Sure enough, due to the lack of liquid, the bottom few layers of storage and computing chips were already completely exposed to the air.

Those chip surfaces had lost their protective liquid coverage and had directly withstood the peak voltage before the data core stopped running.

Their originally dark surfaces now presented an ominous scorched yellow, looking just like toast that had been over-baked.

Jiang Feng felt his throat tighten; he heard Moli's voice coming in a rush, even with a hint of a sob.

"How is it? Can it still be restored?"

Jiang Feng's face was pale; he really didn't dare to guarantee anything right now.

Moli's body tensed like a fully drawn bow; she watched Jiang Feng's face, which had lost its color, and watched his eyes staring fixedly at the crack, a cold chill instantly shooting from the soles of her feet up her spine.

Her toes curled uncontrollably inside her exquisite high heels, her nails almost digging through the earth.

Her heels tapped unconsciously and gently on the concrete floor, making a fine and dense "tap-tap" sound.

Noli, standing behind her, couldn't help but clench her fists; her sharp gaze shifted from Jiang Feng and landed on Moli's calves wrapped in black silk, and she saw that Moli was trembling slightly.

Noli lowered her eyes; she had never seen Moli lose her composure like this—except for that one time.

That time was in a top-tier medical center, where the full-spectrum lights were blindingly cold.

Moli's mother, that once-illustrious Alice, lay on the hospital bed like a withered leaf.

The doctor in a white coat announced in a regretful tone that Alice had been diagnosed with an extremely rare disease; her specific gene sequence mutation had triggered a catastrophic "cancerous constitution."

Cancer cells were very easy to proliferate and very easy to metastasize.

A proton knife would eliminate one tumor, and a second tumor would surface.

Targeted drugs would eliminate one type of cancer, and a second type of cancer would jump out.

Small-molecule robots were constantly wandering in her body, yet even so, her body was still deteriorating.

And for adults, gene therapy targeting all cells was very dangerous; one wrong move, and she would die.

That time, Moli was just like this.

Her toes curled tightly inside her shoes, her nails dug into her palms, but she stubbornly straightened her back, and not a single tear fell.

Moli didn't know what others were thinking at this moment.

All her thoughts were drawn to the transparent cylinder before her, which carried their last hope but was on the verge of destruction.

Moli looked at the man beside the cylinder, and her heart tightened.

In a trance, Alice's weak voice echoed in her mind, unusually clear, as if it were yesterday.

"Moli, in my life, I have danced on the tip of a knife; glamorous on the surface, but actually... heh."

On the hospital bed, her mother's withered hand gripped her wrist tightly; that was the greatest strength she had ever felt in her life.

She still remembered that she didn't dare to look into her mother's eyes, afraid of the last light burning inside them.

"But the only thing I can never let go of is always you..."

"If things don't work out, then leave, go far away, find a good person to spend your life with, and don't come back!"

Moli's heart felt as if it were being gripped by a cold hand; her mother was still persisting, still fighting, and every treatment was like burning the last of her oil, waiting for a slim chance of survival.

If not for the bottomless wealth and the support of top-tier medical technology, Alice would have long since turned to dust.

If this wealth were to suddenly disappear...

Moli's throat felt as if it were blocked.

'Never give up!'

This thought exploded in her heart like a clap of thunder.

Her mother Alice, a woman who had crawled out of hell, had fought all her life and never bowed her head.

She was Moli, with the same blood flowing through her, how could she retreat at this moment?

An indescribable power instantly infused her whole body, dispelling that bone-chilling cold.

Her rapidly tapping high heels stopped abruptly, stepping steadily on the ground.

She took a deep breath, air surging into her lungs, causing her churning emotions to settle instantly, turning into a frozen lake surface.

'I believe in him; he can solve all this.'

No one knew that she had staked everything on the man beside her.

Without unnecessary questions or impatient urging, she just stood quietly by Jiang Feng's side.

Jiang Feng had already conceived N methods in his mind; the most reliable one was simply to take this thing to the Armory.

But if the data was damaged, given the current state of the Armory, he wasn't sure if it could be repaired or completed.

But Moli was right there, and he couldn't take the risk of exposing the Armory.

Sending her away wasn't realistic either; this was her lifeline, and she wouldn't let it out of her sight.

He lowered his head, looked at his wristband, and asked silently in his heart: 'Are you sure?'

No text appeared, but a certain icon in his wristband suddenly transformed into a young girl wearing a white dress.

She smiled at Jiang Feng and gave him a thumbs-up.

The corners of Jiang Feng's mouth curled up slightly; since that was the case, he would give it a try first. Anyway, he had the Armory to fall back on; worst case, he would deal with it later.

"Success or failure, it all depends on this move."

He didn't look at Moli, but this sentence was meant for her to hear.
