Chapter 396 Biden's Counterattack

As the Dragon Country fleet departed resolutely with the precious samples, the land shrouded in war and fear—the Eagle Country—instantly plunged into an abyss of no return!

It began to suffer the monsters' frenzied retaliation, which came like a surging tide.

The once bustling and prosperous states and counties had now turned into a living hell.

The army of monsters, like a black torrent, swept across the land, leaving devastation in its wake.

Those territories that President Biden had painstakingly reclaimed were now like withered leaves in the wind, ruthlessly devoured once more and falling back under the monsters' control.

The towering skyscrapers that once served as the landmark for the Umbrella Corporation had vanished without a trace, as if they had never existed in this world.

In their place stood a massive castle, exuding a nauseating, fishy stench.

This castle was built entirely from rotting flesh, twisted fascia, and writhing blood vessels.

It was like an evil entity that had burst forth from the abyss of hell, radiating endless gloom and terror.

Inside the castle stood a towering, majestic throne.

It emitted an eerie, ghostly light from all around.

The monster leader, Caesar, sat upon it, looking like a master of darkness as he overlooked the dense crowd of "subjects" below.

These so-called subjects were bizarre in appearance; they had humanoid bodies, but their heads were entirely like octopuses!

Slimy tentacles danced wantonly in the air, sending out waves of chill.

Behind Caesar, a pair of huge bone wings trembled slightly, each flap stirring up a gust of foul, rotting wind.

His expression was cold and stern, his gaze like torches, sharp as tangible blades!

He swept his gaze over the crowd below and questioned his subordinate:

"L, how is the matter I tasked you with going?"

Mr. L hurriedly stepped forward, his body trembling slightly, his face full of reverence, and said in a nearly fawning tone:

"My Lord, as you commanded, our troops have swarmed out, attacking multiple Nuclear Weapons facilities of the Eagle Country with all their might."

"As of now, we have successfully infiltrated and destroyed nearly eighty percent of the Eagle Country's Nuclear Weapons facilities."

Upon hearing this, Caesar's eyes instantly turned as cold as frost, like polar ice, and his voice carried deep dissatisfaction:

"Only eighty percent! What about the remaining twenty percent?"

Mr. L's heart tightened, beads of sweat instantly forming on his forehead, and he replied nervously:

"The remaining twenty percent... we are already working on it urgently."

"Please rest assured, my Lord. I believe it won't be long before we completely destroy all of the Eagle Country's Nuclear Weapons facilities."

Caesar snorted coldly, his voice sounding as if it came from the depths of the underworld:

"You should have completed these tasks perfectly before respectfully inviting me to descend!"

"Instead of having me come over now to clean up this mess for you!"

Mr. L's legs went weak with fear, and with a "thud," he knelt directly on the ground, his body shaking like a sieve as he hurriedly repented:

"I repent, my Lord!"

"If everything had gone according to our original meticulous expectations, I definitely would have handled things beautifully."

"But I didn't expect the Dragon Country to emerge so suddenly, and their combat power is becoming increasingly stronger, more and more beyond our control."

"I was worried they would become an unstable and dangerous factor in our great plan, which is why I dared to beg for your early arrival."

Caesar was silent for a moment, his expression gradually returning to calm, and he nodded slightly:

"I did underestimate this country."

"But it doesn't matter. As long as we complete that ultimate plan, we will have nothing to fear from humanity's Nuclear Weapons."

"I don't mind waiting a little longer. During this time, you must keep a close eye on those Eagle Country fellows and absolutely not let them disrupt our plan."

Mr. L felt as if he had been granted an amnesty and hurriedly replied: "Yes, my respected Master."

After saying this, he slowly stood up, lowered his head, and retreated cautiously.

Just as he stepped out of the castle gate and looked up at the sky, it was so dark it seemed covered by a huge black cloth, and bean-sized raindrops came pattering down, landing on his face.

Mr. L, however, seemed not to notice; instead, he extended a strange, long tongue and slowly licked the rainwater!

Meanwhile, outside a secret basement in the mountains of the Eagle Country, the atmosphere was suffocatingly oppressive.

The Secretary of Defense, Cesari, was reporting the catastrophic war situation to President Biden:

"The Nuclear Weapons facilities in all our northern states have been destroyed; now, only the Nuclear Weapons facilities in some southern states have a glimmer of survival."

"This frenzied attack by the monsters is estimated to have caused over ten million civilian casualties. Our country's estimated remaining population is less than ten million, and the total number of casualties is as high as hundreds of millions. This is simply a disaster of extinction..."

President Biden sat there, his face as gloomy as water, showing no signs of joy or anger, like a wooden statue.

Cesari snuck a glance at him and continued:

"Now the monsters' attack target is very clear; they are determined to destroy our Nuclear Weapons facilities."

"From this, it is not difficult to see that they seem to fear our Nuclear Weapons."

"But if we do not take decisive measures, it is very likely that our remaining few Nuclear Weapons facilities will suffer even more violent attacks from them."

Cesari's words were like a heavy boulder falling into a calm lake, plunging everyone in the basement into a deathly silence.

After a long time, President Biden seemed to snap out of his contemplation and suddenly spoke, his voice low and hoarse:

"Is it true that if things continue like this, our entire country will completely become a nest for those monsters, left to be slaughtered by them?"

Cesari frowned, pondered for a moment, and then nodded heavily:

"It seems... that is the case."

A look of determination flashed in President Biden's eyes, and he spoke again, his voice as cold and sharp as an ice blade in the winter wind:

"Those monsters are truly foolish! Do they really think we will just sit and wait for death, unable to resist?"

"When someone wants to sever your limbs and leave you with no power to resist, anyone with even a shred of spirit should think of resistance first!"

The Secretary of State heard this, and an ominous premonition welled up in his heart; he couldn't help but ask:

"Mr. President, do you mean to..."

President Biden did not answer, just nodded heavily, his eyes revealing a desperate madness.

He slowly stood up, his gaze like torches, sweeping over everyone one by one, finally resting on their faces, his voice cold enough to make one shudder:

"We have no other choice!"

"It is they who forced us to this point."

"Secretary of Defense, listen to my order: immediately contact all our nuclear strike units and bomb Washington D.C.! Use... all of our nuclear warheads."

"And... have our military prepare for the fall of our nation."

As soon as these words were spoken, the high-ranking officials of the Eagle Country were in an uproar; someone was so shocked they jumped up, their face pale as paper, shouting in a trembling voice:

"No! You can't, Mr. President!"

"We already angered them before, which caused millions to lose their lives."

"They have already issued stern warnings; if we continue to offend them, we will all die without a burial place!"

President Biden's gaze, like cold stars, landed on him, and he said coldly:

"Mr. Scody, things have come to this point; have you not yet prepared yourself for death?"
