492: Life phased radar database established

The two looked at the billowing dust and smoke in the distance, exchanged a glance, and flew out of Linhai City together, chasing in the direction the Sea Race was retreating. For them, they certainly could not rest easy without investigating the situation... Rewinding time by over an hour, the Sea Race was still fiercely attacking the city. However, long before the siege began, the Ming Army had already arranged various defensive strategies, forming a layered protective posture:

The first layer was clearing the fields and fortifying the walls. The Ming Army had long since forcibly moved the settlements outside the city back inside. All timber, ironware, grain, fresh water, and tools were also moved away. Anything that could not be moved was finally burned in a great fire to leave nothing for the enemy, ensuring they would not obtain any resources for the siege or survival.

The second layer involved building additional Corner Towers in all directions of Linhai City. These towers served as high points on the battlefield for observation and attack. If the opponent also built trebuchets or other high-point offensive structures, they could be discovered in time and destroyed early.

The third layer consisted of multiple obstacles set in the direction of the enemy's advance, making them pay a heavy price for every step forward. First, a belt of Iron Caltrops several hundred meters wide was spread on the ground, followed by deep trenches filled with dense spikes. After the trenches were built, a ring of Abatis was erected on the periphery. These Abatis could block not only horses but also the large creatures among the Sea Race, preventing them from charging rapidly to bypass the trenches.

The fourth layer, behind the trenches, was a moat over a hundred meters wide built by the Ming Army. The water was extremely deep, and a wall several people high, called the Niuma Wall, was built by the riverside. This high wall was not the main wall of Linhai City, but the first ambush line built behind the moat. From here, the defenders could bombard the enemy from a distance.

The fifth layer: if the Sea Race passed the previous obstacles and finally drove back the ambushers at the Niuma Wall, they would then see the true walls of Linhai City. Only then would the siege battle officially begin. At this point, various heavy city-defense weapons would be deployed together: Mortal Xuan Gun squads, ordinary Xuan Practitioner archer squads, elite Xuan Practitioner archer squads, long crossbow machines with a range of two kilometers, single-person rocket launchers, ordinary Mystic Cannons, medium-to-high-level Mystic Cannons, and the giant god cannon. Experts at or above the Martial Ancestor level focused on preventing raids from the Flying Fish Tribe in the sky. Since the opponent had no firearms, there was no need to worry about defending against incoming Mystic Cannon shells, but they did have trebuchets; the Sea Race had long since learned to use this Sharp Weapon for sieges.

The sixth layer: if the Sea Race could break through layer by layer to the wall-climbing stage, the stones, logs, golden juice, oil cabinets, and so on piled on the city walls could cause the opponent to suffer massive losses.

The seventh layer: if the Sea Race could break into the city after passing through the previous layers of Hell-level defenses, they would not immediately see the residential areas of Linhai City. Instead, they would face a Barbican ambush surrounded by high walls on four sides. This was a Shura field for slaughtering enemies. Once the outer city gate was closed, the enemies here would be like turtles in a jar, with no choice but to be shot down, and absolutely no possibility of escape.

The eighth layer: even if the Sea Race could smash through this first Barbican, they would still face the ambush circles of two more Barbicans behind it. Only by destroying those two subsequent Barbicans could Linhai City be considered truly breached!

In the eyes of Prince An, Qin Yuan, and the others, it would be no easy task for the Sea Race to take down Linhai City. It would be impossible without paying a massive price. As long as the Ming Army held firm, they could certainly drag out this war for a long time.

However, after the war broke out, the Sea Race proved that the Ming Army's judgment was still too optimistic!

After a large number of the Sea Race emerged from the sea, they advanced all the way with a majestic Aura. Although the several-hundred-meter-wide iron caltrop belt played a certain hindering role, the Sea Race simply had too much cannon fodder. Many of them were massive, thick-skinned, and covered in hard scales. Although a small group of the Sea Race died in the caltrop belt, they used their corpses to pave the way for those who followed!

Next, their ultra-high trebuchets were quickly built and prepared for the siege. Seeing this, Linhai City hurriedly used Mystic Cannons to exchange fire, suppressing the opponent for a while. But once the Sea Race had fully constructed them, one huge stone ball after another was hurled over. Not only did they destroy many Abatis and Niuma Walls, but some also crashed into the city, triggering chain reactions of destruction. The city began to become somewhat chaotic.

After that, the Sea Race used the corpses of their cannon fodder to fill the trenches, destroyed the Abatis, and pushed to the moat!

The moat was over a hundred meters wide. It seemed useless against the Sea Race, but it actually served a purpose because the Ming Army had poured poison into the water. The leading Sea Race members, unaware of the depth, entered recklessly and soon sank from the poison. The Ming Army watched with joy, but after a while, they could no longer smile. They discovered that the Sea Race cannon fodder was completely unafraid of death. As waves of cannon fodder rushed into the river, their corpses began to pile up. Seeing that a platform was about to be formed, Qin Yuan quickly ordered a bombardment. The Sea Race cannon fodder must not be allowed into the moat again, because if they crossed it and broke through the first ambush wall, they would soon face the actual walls of Linhai City... This point in time was only about twenty minutes from when Qin Yuan discovered the anomaly. At this moment, a change occurred, but it was so small that many people didn't notice it at all!

Previously, Long Yuan had dispatched Qian Xiaosen with two convoys to Linhai City. Their primary responsibility was to collect information on various life forms and build a Life Phased Array Radar database.

Upon arrival, they reported the situation to Prince An and were then stationed at the ambush line behind the moat. This location was indeed an excellent observation point, allowing them to directly face various life forms of the Sea Race, as well as all the soldiers and civilians in Linhai City. It was extremely beneficial for collecting life information, which was why Qian Xiaosen had specifically requested to be stationed there after observing the battlefield layout.

Sure enough, after moving in, the two teams quickly completed the information scanning of the soldiers and civilians in Linhai City. Even Prince An and Sabado became their scanning targets. Their life data was read and stored in the database, and everyone was completely unaware of it.

Once the Sea Race appeared, the phased array radar immediately scanned them all. They recorded the information of each Sea Race life form into the System at an extremely fast speed. The reason they could be so fast was that they used a Classification Method. Since the same racial categories could be scanned and registered together, the same Cultivation levels could be entered together, and the same abilities and spiritual power could be grouped together. This greatly reduced the workload, and the Life Phased Array Radar would soon be able to play its role!

From the moment the Life Phased Array Radar database was completed, the invading Sea Race had no more secrets before the two teams...
