Chapter 145 The Secrets of the Divine Realm

Retina was the first to land at the core, and upon seeing the scene before her, a look of unbelievable astonishment instantly surfaced on her face.

Xu Ruo followed closely behind, landing beside Retina and looking in the direction of her gaze.

A giant Black Orb of Light was quietly suspended in the center of the core.

The aura that had surprised Xu Ruo was precisely what this black orb was emitting.

"This... this is!!"

Retina stared at the black orb, incredibly excited yet also filled with a hint of disbelief.

"How did cracks appear on it?"

With just a single glance, Xu Ruo determined that the black orb before them was indeed the core of the Floating Island.

But when Xu Ruo truly saw the core of the Floating Island, he was still shocked by that black orb.

He didn't expect this thing...

...to actually be emitting a genuine Divine Aura.

Moreover... a mysterious object containing a Divine Aura was actually willing to be manipulated by Retina...

Xu Ruo couldn't help but take a few more looks at the black orb.

It seemed he was assessing whether this strange Divine Aura posed any threat.

On the other side, Retina was also using Detection Magic to very carefully examine the cracks on the black orb. After a long moment of contemplation, she looked at Xu Ruo somewhat uneasily.

"Master, the situation seems to be a mix of good and bad."

Xu Ruo withdrew his gaze and looked at Retina. "How so?"

"The appearance of cracks in the core means that the Floating Island could completely collapse and fall to the Continent at any time." After a pause, a solemn Retina added:

"But for some reason... I feel as though there's a power inside helping me maintain the Floating Island and preventing it from collapsing."

Xu Ruo nodded slightly; he had felt it too.

Based on his brief observation, the black orb before them didn't pose any threat.

Although it emitted a seemingly powerful Divine Aura,

upon sensing it closely...

this aura was merely superficial.

It might be enough to scare people, but when it came to actual deterrence...

it wasn't even a thousandth of the aura Xu Ruo would release if he truly let loose.

After thinking for a moment, Xu Ruo said to Retina:

"Can I touch this thing?"

"I want to see if I can help stop the cracks from spreading."

Hearing this, Retina looked at Xu Ruo, hesitated for a moment, and then nodded.

"Okay."

She then stepped aside and gestured for Xu Ruo to step forward.

Xu Ruo didn't stand on ceremony.

Walking up to the black orb, he reached out and touched it.

The moment he made contact, Xu Ruo experienced an extremely peculiar sensation.

There was a powerful mana within the black orb.

However, it showed no hostility.

In fact... there was even a faint sense of affinity.

Xu Ruo didn't rush to inject mana into the black orb, but instead quietly felt it.

At the same time, he also quietly released a portion of his own aura.

As Xu Ruo's aura intertwined with the black orb, there was actually a feeling of perfect blending!

A strange light flashed in Xu Ruo's eyes. Almost instantly, he understood the general situation.

This black orb was likely some kind of Divine Relic.

Although there was still an unknown power hidden inside,

it bore no ill will toward Xu Ruo.

It even... seemed to crave the mana within Xu Ruo's body.

Since that was the case, Xu Ruo naturally had no more reservations.

With a thought, he released a stream of pure mana, which flowed from his palm into the black orb.

As Xu Ruo's mana was injected, the black orb immediately began to tremble slightly, and even stronger fluctuations erupted.

Retina watched the changes before her without blinking, feeling somewhat nervous.

Fortunately...

the cracks on the black orb seemed to have been halted!

No... it was more than that...

Once Xu Ruo's mana entered the black orb, the cracks immediately stopped spreading and began to heal.

Standing nearby, Retina couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief at this sight.

While continuing to inject mana, Xu Ruo asked:

"What exactly is the origin of this thing?"

Hearing this, Retina explained without hesitation:

"I found this in a ruin; it contains many Magic Runes that I have never seen before."

"The reason the Floating Island can remain airborne is precisely because I deciphered one of those runes..."

"By utilizing that rune and the orb's own power, I was able to ensure the Floating Island never falls."

Hearing Retina's explanation, Xu Ruo's heart stirred.

No wonder...

Even though the Divine Aura within this black orb was hollow, it had given him a faint sense of familiarity.

So that was it.

"It seems... those Magic Runes were very likely carved onto it by deities."

"But as for which deity specifically... that is unclear."

Xu Ruo's words seemed to remind Retina of something.

With a sudden flash of inspiration, she asked Xu Ruo:

"By the way, Master..."

"I heard you say when I was a child that once one's strength reaches a certain level, they can tear through space even without relying on magic, and even travel to the legendary Heavenly Realm and Divine Realm..."

"Master, with your power, you should be able to travel through the Divine Realm easily, right?"

"If you just meet those deities, wouldn't you be able to find out who created this black orb?"

Logically speaking, there was nothing wrong with Retina's suggestion.

With Xu Ruo's strength, he could indeed tear through space and travel freely between various worlds.

However, the Divine Realm...

After thinking for a bit, Xu Ruo finally chose to reveal it to Retina:

"It's possible, but something has happened in the Divine Realm."

"Outsiders cannot enter, and deities cannot leave..."

"That world has already become closed off."

Retina couldn't help but be startled upon hearing this.

"Closed off?"

Xu Ruo nodded slightly. "Yes, a very special kind of closure."

"Now, even if I can tear through space, it's difficult to go to the Divine Realm."

Retina came to a sudden realization, and a hint of regret appeared in her expression.

"I see..."

"That really is a pity."

As they spoke, the cracks on the black orb had completely vanished, and it had stabilized entirely.

Xu Ruo also stopped the injection of mana.

He looked at the black orb again, lost in thought.

"Although I don't know why this black orb feels an affinity toward me, nevertheless..."

"Since it can help you maintain the Floating Island, there shouldn't be any problem."

"I have already injected a trace of my Soul Power into it. If anything similar happens, I'll be able to sense it immediately."

Retina nodded.

Looking at the restored black orb before her, a bit of regret surfaced on her pretty face—

"I originally wanted to make Master proud of me."

"But now... Master still had to come and help me clean up the mess..."

Hearing Retina's words, Xu Ruo patted her small head and smiled dotingly:

"How could I not be proud?"

"These Magic Runes carved by deities are something even I might not be able to decipher."

"But you not only deciphered one, you even made it your own and turned it into your own strength..."

"In this regard alone, you have surpassed your master in a certain sense."

"How could I not be proud of you?"

Hearing this, Retina felt a bit embarrassed and stuck out her tongue.

"Master, you flatter me."

"I only deciphered a few Magic Runes."

"It's far from the level you're talking about."

Xu Ruo shook his head quite seriously and said:

"No, it's different."

"These Magic Runes carved by deities contain the most difficult magical mysteries in the world to decipher."

"Even Lilia—that is, my master—only deciphered fewer than three divine magics in her entire life."

"You already have the qualifications to make even her marvel."
