109: Chapter 109 Going Home

[Tang Junlin's Guidance: You have completed all guidance tasks. The guidance tasks originated from me, but your choices, your specific actions, including your Natal Hero, have nothing to do with me. You can understand this guidance as me embedding a framework into a foundational item, which then provided you with guidance based on reality...]

A long, rambling passage of text transformed into a letter and slipped into Chen Aoyun's backpack. It felt very much like an admonition of the "I, Tang Junlin, have done what I should and what I could; what happens next has nothing to do with me, you must forge ahead" variety... it even carried a hint of shirking responsibility.

Chen Aoyun didn't have time to finish reading the letter, because a group of Charr soldiers suddenly appeared in front of him.

The group of Charr soldiers parted to the left and right to clear a path, from which three people emerged:

A taller Charr, who seemed to be the commander of this group of Charr warriors.

Chen Aoyun was somewhat surprised by the other two.

One was from the Shadow Race, and the other was from the Norn race.

There are 9 major races in the 'Terry World', and the Charr, Shadow Race, and Norn are the 'Top Three Races'.

"You are the one who controls this engineering item?" the Charr commander asked. "Can you use this engineering item to determine the anchor point of the civilization it belongs to?"

After receiving an affirmative answer, the Charr commander paid no more attention to Chen Aoyun, instead turning to converse with the Shadow Person and the Norn:

"A very special unknown world. Since you both claim that this world has a civilization that matches your attributes, then the right of the first descent into this world is sold to you at the previously agreed-upon price... There is no room for negotiation; the item is my Charr's, and the anchor point was found by my Charr's servant race..."

The trio's bargaining was nothing more than a matter of benefits and the ownership of Blue Star.

The Charr had discovered the uniqueness of Blue Star, but they didn't seem to view it as a treasure.

If Chen Aoyun's judgment was correct, Blue Star's special nature was only related to its 'historical records'; from this perspective, Blue Star really didn't have anything particularly special about it.

On the contrary, the phrase "this world has a civilization that matches your attributes" made Chen Aoyun's eyelids twitch.

The Shadow Race is cold-blooded and dark. In the images provided by Tang Junlin, Sakura Country was deeply connected with them; even the [Heroes] of Sakura Country, especially those with the 'Ninja' tag, possessed some abilities of the Shadow Race, which was the result of assimilation.

Likewise, the Norn, especially the high-ranking beings among the Norn known as 'Lightforged Norn', had also, in the images provided by Tang Junlin, taken some countries on Blue Star that believed in the Holy Light and were full of 'virtue-signaling saints' as servants.

If these two were brought back to Blue Star, their collusion with the traitorous countries could be under Chen Aoyun's surveillance, giving this trip to the other world an extra layer of significance!

The conversation did not avoid Chen Aoyun. To better bewitch a civilization from another world, provide them with power, and satisfy their desires, the emblem stele in the hands of the two was very important.

The Shadow Person and the Norn each had an emblem stele. This stele, made of a special material, could allow other races to perceive the Heroes within and obtain certain special abilities unique to the 'Terry World' Heroes.

At the same time, this was also the tool for the Shadow Person and the Norn to connect with the 'Terry World'.

Chen Aoyun watched silently as the Shadow Person and the Norn put away the steles, and under the guidance of this group of Charr, he arrived at a special building in the city.

Things that looked like magic arrays or inscriptions were engraved on the floors and walls.

When making first contact with an unknown world that has not experienced the Star Chess War, the number of people who can be sent to descend is only three.

Chen Aoyun was the anchor provider, and there was one from the Shadow Race and one from the Norn, making exactly three people.

An indescribable, mysterious power of rules appeared in this room filled with magic arrays and inscriptions.

The 'spatial vortex' to go home appeared.

Chen Aoyun finally embarked on the road back to Blue Star!

The road home was not as straightforward as Chen Aoyun had imagined.

The three were wrapped in something like a bubble, as if they were taking a trans-dimensional space trip. Time stagnated, space was stretched, and in the endless darkness, dense, particle-sized starlight rushed backward.

The Shadow Person and the Norn did not have a good relationship with each other and were at odds throughout the journey through the vortex.

But without exception, they both treated Blue Star, which had not experienced the Star Chess War, as a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.

Blue Star might not have experienced the Star Chess War, but Blue Star has the 'beta version' of the Game of National Destiny!

Chen Aoyun was looking forward to what would happen after arriving at Blue Star.

Snap—! A slight collision sound echoed in the endless void.

The bubble wrapping the three of them shook violently, as if it had hit an invisible, tough wall, and their speed dropped sharply.

Ahead, the silhouette of Blue Star's star sea was already visible, yet it felt as if it were separated by a layer of impenetrable frosted glass, blurry and distant.

"What's going on?!" A flash of Holy Light flickered across the Norn's face in astonishment.

The Shadow Person also looked astonished: "World barrier?! How could a primitive world that hasn't experienced the Star Chess War possess such self-protection?!"

Chen Aoyun remained silent, only narrowing his raccoon eyes, taking in their reactions, and sneering in his heart: "Is the beta server somewhere you can just enter whenever you want?"

Just then, the Shadow Person beside Chen Aoyun pointed at the figure that had suddenly appeared ahead, with a look of shock on his face, "It's not just a barrier, there are also Heroes! This world already has a civilization that has obtained enough National Destiny to produce Heroes who actively resist invasions! Something is wrong, very wrong! Although this Hero is very weak, as invaders, the power of Terry World has no foothold here at all. We can't deal with this Hero right now, damn it!"

Encountering trouble before even descending was both bad news and good news for the Shadow Person and the Norn.

The bad news was, of course, that they might have to return empty-handed this time, but the good news was that this world was special enough to be a big cake!

"Retreat first, and take the news back! This world might be worth a larger investment!"

That's what they said, but neither the Shadow Person nor the Norn was willing to leave so easily.

The bigger the cake, the more easily it attracts bees and butterflies. They had just set foot on the road to Blue Star, and if they turned back to Terry World, anyone would know that an accident had occurred.

In this way, the cake that originally belonged to the Shadow Race and the Norn, at most with the Charr added, was in danger of being carved up.

What's more, there was power struggling within each race, as well as infighting between families; returning just like that, these two were not willing.

Chen Aoyun observed every move of these two, and then looked at the suddenly appeared Blue Star Hero.

"A [Hero] from Sakura Country?"

Chen Aoyun didn't know who the [Hero] was, but the samurai outfit was too obvious. Chen Aoyun thought for a moment, "Perhaps it has something to do with this engineering item?"

Since it was a Sakura Country Hero, Chen Aoyun had no psychological burden at all.

Chen Aoyun timely revealed a look of panic and exhaustion (although it couldn't be seen on his furry face). He "struggled" to hold up the two torpedoes, his tone carrying just the right amount of obsequiousness and fear: "This item should belong to the same civilization as the Hero in front of us. Since the Hero of this civilization is special, then this engineering item, which was used as a Star Chess War reward, should also be special enough. Furthermore, both are creations of this world. One is a Hero. The other is an engineering item infused with the power of rules, which can be regarded as a [wonder]. In this way, can we use the [wonder] to break the [Hero]?"

The advice of a junior engineering technician was worth listening to, especially since this suggestion was extremely reasonable.

Using Blue Star's engineering items, which were equivalent to items or [wonders], to deal with Blue Star's [Hero], and having the Shadow Person and the Norn infuse their own power, which they originally couldn't use, into it—wouldn't the Hero in front of them be killable then!?

"My power is weak, and I have already exhausted myself maintaining the anchor point. I can only rely on you to activate this engineering item. Killing a Hero from another world has National Destiny rewards, and I dare not ask for them... The item is yours. I learned from a branch that this engineering item is called: kaitian torpedo. It has already been activated by me..."

kaitian torpedo! A creation of the Sakura civilization, captured by some will and turned into a reward for the Star Chess War. This thing is definitely not something to use on oneself! Of course, Chen Aoyun wouldn't say that.

He just silently handed one torpedo each to the Shadow Person and the Norn.

The Shadow Person praised him, this raccoon, for being sensible.

The Norn also patted Chen Aoyun on the shoulder and promised him a 'huge' reward of one gold coin.

Chen Aoyun looked obsequious, but his eyes uncontrollably glanced at their waists. What was tucked at their waists were precisely the 'emblem stele' of their two races.
