122: Who is the ghost?

The Streamer's scream was stuck in her throat, her entire body stiffened as if frozen by ice.

That pale face streaming with bloody tears was none other than Xiao Mei, who had jumped to her death during the day!

At this moment, that face was almost pressed against hers, its hollow, abyss-like eyes locked onto her, and the bloody scent of the tears beneath them rushed straight into her nasal cavity.

It made her almost want to vomit.

There was no sound at all, as if time had been frozen.

The face merely cracked into an extremely twisted smile, then suddenly disappeared.

[Ahhhhh! What the hell was that? It scared the life out of me.]

[I was wrong, I shouldn't have said it wasn't scary. It's over, I don't dare to sleep at all now.]

[That scared me so much my heart almost stopped!]

[Damn, and you guys still said it wasn't scary? I was already terrified when I saw Xiao Mei free-falling.]

The Streamer gasped violently, her heart pounding like a drum.

She tremblingly looked toward Chen Xiaohu's bed; it was empty, the bed curtain swaying as if no one had ever gotten up, and certainly no pale hand had been there.

"Was it a hallucination? I was too scared, so..."

The Streamer comforted herself, but the lingering cold sensation on her nose and that bloody scent were incredibly real.

She tremblingly took out her phone to check the time, only to find that no matter how she pressed it, the screen wouldn't light up.

Not just the phone; the electronic alarm clock on the bedside table had also gone black.

A sense of immense unease gripped her.

She gently lifted a corner of the bed curtain to peek into the dormitory.

Yu Shi and Zheng Feilong seemed to be sleeping soundly, completely unresponsive to the commotion from just a moment ago.

Chen Xiaohu's bed was a mess, but he was nowhere to be seen.

Where did he go?

The Streamer didn't dare to make a sound, let alone get out of bed to search.

The entire dormitory was eerily quiet, with only the sound of her own heartbeat: "Thump, thump! Thump, thump! Thump, thump!"

Just then—

"Knock, knock... Knock, knock..."

A slow and clear knocking sound came from the direction of the dormitory door.

The Streamer held her breath, every hair on her body standing on end.

The sound was very light, yet it carried a stubborn regularity, neither fast nor slow, as if patiently waiting for a response.

"Knock... Knock..."

The sound seemed to have moved.

From the door panel, it had shifted to... the edge of her bed?

It was as if someone was using their knuckles to gently tap, one by one, on the ladder beneath her bed!

The Streamer was so terrified she nearly lost her soul; she pulled the blanket over her head, curled into a ball, and shivered silently.

She could feel that cold presence right by the bed, separated only by the thin bed board and the blanket, watching her.

"Knock... Screech... Screech..."

The knocking stopped, turning into the sound of fingernails scratching a chalkboard—exceptionally piercing and irritating.

Yet the Streamer didn't dare to make even the slightest sound.

She was somewhat regretting it now; why on earth did she have to play this game?

"Fam... Family, how about we log off first?"

As she spoke, she wanted to turn off the stream and exit the game, but the number of people in the stream had somehow already reached over three hundred thousand.

[Don't! Even though I'm scared, I can still watch while curled up under my blanket.]

[Keep playing a bit more.]

[Don't be afraid, Streamer, we're here with you.]

[Don't open your eyes, whatever you do, don't open your eyes.]

[Help, I'm watching this stream in the middle of the night and I've already been scared to death.]

Seeing that the stream was telling her to keep going, the Streamer felt conflicted, even though she was terrified.

But for the money!

She took a deep breath. "Alright, I'll keep streaming!"

She said this through gritted teeth—this was over three hundred thousand people!

With so many people watching, imagine how many followers she would gain once this stream was over!

Unknowingly, her consciousness seemed to gradually drift into sleep.

When she opened her eyes again, she was shaken awake by Yu Shi. "Wake up, Dashu!"

The Streamer's head felt like it was splitting; the terrifying memories of last night rushed back instantly, and she sat up abruptly. "What's wrong?!"

"Xiaohu... he's missing!" Yu Shi was frantically scratching his hair beside her. "And look at the group chat!"

The Streamer hurriedly picked up her phone; it had actually returned to normal.

The class group chat was exploding. The latest message was from the counselor: "Students, please remain calm. Do not approach the Old Art Building for the time being; wait for further notice from the police..."

A bold student in the group had sent an image—a mosaic-blurred photo.

It was vaguely discernible as a dead person, covered in a lot of blood, with limbs twisted almost beyond recognition; it looked extremely eerie.

Soon, the image was retracted by the administrator.

"This is..."

Yu Shi spoke heavily, "It's Zheng Feilong."

"What?" The Streamer was shocked and pale. "How could he be dead?"

Yu Shi shook his head. "I don't know either. When I woke up at noon, I found that Chen Xiaohu and Zheng Feilong were missing, but I didn't think much of it and just prepared to go out to eat."

"But who would have thought that before I even reached the cafeteria, I heard someone saying that someone had died in the Old Art Building—a man wearing glasses."

"I didn't dare to go over and look at that time, but then a classmate sent me a message saying that the one who died was Zheng Feilong."

"It's the spirit pen game... It's the spirit pen game!" He muttered to himself.

[Holy crap, someone died again!]

[No way, I've got goosebumps all over, why is this so scary?]

[I don't dare to breathe...]

The audience in the stream felt terrified watching it, but they couldn't stop.

They just wanted to figure out what was really going on.

Those who were faint of heart had already left the stream, but even more viewers were flooding in.

Horror themes were a rare type of game on Blue Star.

Not to mention that this was a collaboration between Master Qin and Wandering God; most players would choose to come and see what it was really like.

And at this moment, they didn't know that this bit of horror was merely an appetizer.

The Streamer and Yu Shi discussed for a long time and decided to go out and look for Chen Xiaohu.

They couldn't get through to his phone, so they could only go to the places he frequented to look for him.

After searching for a round, the Streamer had just returned to the dormitory when she saw Zheng Feilong, who was supposed to be dead, actually inside the dormitory.

Seeing her return, Zheng Feilong spoke anxiously, "Why are you only just getting back! Where on earth did you go?"

"Do you know that Yu Shi is dead!"

The Streamer's blood seemed to freeze instantly; she looked at the anxious Zheng Feilong before her, her mind going blank.

"You... You..."

The Streamer's voice was shaking uncontrollably; she subconsciously took a step back, her spine pressing against the cold dormitory door panel. "Aren't you..."

Wasn't Zheng Feilong dead?

Why was he standing in front of her now!

What on earth was going on? Was she dreaming?

Zheng Feilong looked confused, even carrying a hint of annoyance. "What 'you'? I've been out since noon buying food for you. Didn't you say you didn't sleep well last night and wanted to drink some warm porridge?"

As he spoke, he pointed to a plastic bag sitting on the Streamer's desk, which indeed contained a bowl of porridge that had long since cooled.

"But Yu Shi clearly told me that you were dead..."

The Streamer felt her worldview collapsing; confusion and fear wrapped around her heart like vines.

Zheng Feilong's face turned deathly pale in an instant. "Bullshit! I'm alive and well! When did Yu Shi tell you that?"

"Just, just about two hours ago, he shook me awake, said you were missing, and then said it was at the Old Art Building..."

The Streamer's words came to an abrupt halt, and she couldn't help but feel terrified.

At this moment, she only felt a chill from head to toe, making her unable to move even a single step.

If what Zheng Feilong said was true, then who was the Yu Shi who spoke to her at noon?

If Zheng Feilong was really dead, then who was the person in front of her now?

The Streamer felt she couldn't take it anymore.

"Yu Shi is really dead. He committed suicide by jumping off the Old Art Building," Zheng Feilong's voice also carried fear. "If you don't believe me, we can go out and see."

"I watched him jump with my own eyes!"

[Holy crap, holy crap! A chill just crawled onto my shoulder.]

[Was the Yu Shi at noon a ghost?]

[So who is actually dead now? Is Zheng Feilong even human?]

[Ahhhhh, I really can't tell anymore. Streamer, run! Both of these people are terrifying.]
