94: How to see 'see'

Xiaxia appeared in planetary orbit, piloting a streamlined, high-tech, and gorgeous silver mecha.

Cold light reflected off the mecha's surface, and energy light flowed continuously through its joints.

It looked incredibly cool!

"Handsome!"

Xiaxia waved the mecha's arms and performed a few cool rolling maneuvers, eliciting another wave of '666' in the bullet chat.

Soon, an NPC appeared beside Xiaxia. "Who are you?"

Seeing the plot begin, Xiaxia stopped showing off her skills. She figured this was asking for her in-game name.

She spoke up, "I'm Xiaxia."

The NPC, who was also piloting a mecha, paused for a moment before introducing herself, "You must be a Purifier too. I'm Miki."

"Sigh, our home has been eroded by pollution for hundreds of years. Now, we can only rely on us Purifiers to barely keep humanity alive."

Just as she finished speaking, dozens of huge, pulsating dark red pollution cores suddenly appeared on the planet's surface, with ugly black crystal clusters floating nearby.

"They've appeared again!" Miki's expression turned grim. "Follow me!"

As she spoke, she piloted her mecha and sped forward. Xiaxia was startled and quickly followed.

Her flight control wasn't great; she flew in a somewhat wobbly and crooked manner.

Miki said, "Looking at your operations, you must be a novice Purifier. Come, follow me."

"See those pollution sources? You need to pilot the mecha deep into the polluted zones, find the core pollution sources, and purify them."

"But be careful. The pollution will corrode your mecha and produce various mutated monsters to obstruct you."

Following Miki's explanation, a detailed operation guide popped up on the game interface.

Xiaxia noticed the mecha was equipped with various purification weapons, as well as an energy shield and a repair system.

"Family, it looks like this game is about fighting monsters again!"

Xiaxia sighed while familiarizing herself with the controls. "But the graphics are really well-done. Let's give it a try."

She piloted the mecha toward the nearest polluted zone.

As the distance closed, the details of the planet's surface became clearer; eerie purple liquid seeped from the cracked earth.

Twisted mutant plants bared their fangs and claws, and toxic particles floated in the air.

The bullet chat in the stream was very enthusiastic, with everyone guessing which Producer had made this.

Xiaxia followed the game instructions and prepared to clear the pollution source.

Unexpectedly, before she could react, a huge mutant creature pounced from the pollution fog. Its sharp claws scraped across the mecha, making a piercing metallic screech.

"Whoa!"

Xiaxia cried out in alarm and frantically pressed the attack button.

The purification cannon on the mecha's shoulder automatically locked on and fired a blue purification beam.

After being hit, the monster let out a shrill howl, and its body gradually decomposed into points of light and dissipated.

"Scared the life out of me!" Xiaxia breathed a long sigh of relief. "This monster design is too realistic. My hair stood on end just now!"

She continued deeper into the polluted zone, constantly encountering various mutant creatures and pollution traps along the way.

As the game progressed, Xiaxia found that the scene design for each polluted zone felt quite like a blockbuster movie.

Some were polluted forests, some were abandoned industrial zones, and there were even city ruins submerged in toxic liquid.

It had to be said that the game scenes created by this Producer were truly impressive.

If this were a movie, she would definitely give it a high rating.

Unfortunately, it was a game.

As the plot continued, the number of people in the stream began to drop rapidly.

Simply because Xiaxia was constantly fighting monsters and purifying pollution sources.

It seemed... to be constantly repeating.

[The graphics are indeed good, but it feels like the same old stuff...]

[Go Xiaxia!]

[Feels inferior to your farm; your farm is so much more fun.]

[How many damn pollution sources have been purified already? It feels like there's no end to it.]

[Sigh, better to go play a couple rounds of Honor of Kings. I'm out, I'm out.]

Xiaxia was also finding it increasingly boring. Aside from Miki who appeared at the start, no other NPCs had shown up.

She felt like she was just repeating the same operations over and over.

As expected... these games were still just combat games with a different coat of paint.

"Um... family," Xiaxia's tone carried a hint of subtle fatigue and confusion, "The graphics and special effects of this game are indeed top-tier, no doubt about that."

"But let's switch to another game."

She sighed. The people in the stream were almost all gone.

One could only imagine how boring this game was!

Is the brain of today's game Producers filled with soy sauce?

It really is inferior to your farm; at least the NPCs in that game are more numerous than theirs.

[Indeed... nothing but purification after purification. Watching it too much leads to aesthetic fatigue.]

[Next one, next one!]

[The graphics are cool, but it's not fun to play at all. Sigh, but games nowadays are basically all like this. I'm sick of playing them.]

[Better switch to another game.]

Xiaxia sighed and exited the game.

Afterward, she played a few more games, but they only made her head hurt.

The other games couldn't even compare to the planet-purifying one from earlier.

"Sigh," Xiaxia let out a deep sigh.

She felt like hosting this segment was a mistake.

Originally, at her peak, she could have hundreds of thousands of people in her stream, and that day really earned her a lot.

But later, the number of people in the stream dropped significantly. It was considered good if there were eighty or ninety thousand active users daily.

Now, the stream had been whittled down to only forty thousand people by those games.

She shook her head, thinking to herself: one last time.

"Come on, family, let's pick one last one, and then we'll go play your farm~"

[I'll watch whatever Xiaxia plays!]

[Hurry up with the last one. What kind of freaks and monsters are this year's public welfare games?]

[I feel like Xiaxia is tired too. To be honest, it's really not fun.]

[It's a pity Wandering God didn't participate. Otherwise, there might be something worth playing. I heard many Producers are trying to make mobile games now.]

[Do they even know what they're doing?]

[I really hope they make fewer combat games. They're so boring. I'll put it right here: combat games are dead, even Wandering God coming wouldn't help!]

Xiaxia looked at the unenthusiastic bullet chat, and her spirits were clearly not as high as when she first started the broadcast.

"I hope the last one is a bit interesting. Let's hope it's not another one with an empty shell."

Her gaze wandered through the list, feeling somewhat listless.

Just then, her eyes inadvertently swept over a game in the corner with an extremely minimalist icon design.

It was black and white, looking like a blurred human silhouette standing alone in a slanted beam of light.

That person was also holding a stick; Xiaxia couldn't see it very clearly.

However, this cover didn't look as flashy as the other games.

It didn't seem to be a combat game.

She clicked on it to take a look. "See?"

"This name... is a bit weird. The cover is also quite plain. It's the complete opposite of the one just now."

She clicked on the introduction, which had only one line of small text: "When familiar life gradually disappears from your eyes, how should you 'see'?"

"Huh?"
