5: Lin Feng makes his appearance

Match-fixing!

For a fighter, this was an insult.

But... thinking of his sister in the hospital bed, Wu Poshan hesitated.

"No, Brother Hui. I, Wu Poshan, am a fighter."

"I won't break my own convictions."

To the side, listening to the conversation, Ling Xian felt a sense of admiration for this Boxing King whom he had never met before.

"No wonder his future path in martial arts was so smooth."

"Martial artists with such extreme conviction are rare and terrifying."

"Rumor has it that there are martial artists in the Dragon Kingdom who, through extreme conviction and long-term accumulation, burst forth with power."

"With a single step, they enter the Grandmaster realm directly."

He was determined to have this Wu Poshan!

"Shouldn't his payment be settled?"

Everyone looked toward the source of the voice, only to see a young man in a custom-made casual suit standing behind Wu Poshan at some unknown point.

His extraordinary temperament was completely out of place in this chaotic and filthy environment.

It was Ling Xian who had spoken.

Ling Wu, acting like a shadow, followed silently a few steps behind, his tiger-like gaze scanning the surroundings.

Brother Hui was stunned for a moment. One of his subordinates immediately barked in anger, "Who the f*ck are you? Is it your turn to talk here? This is Brother Hui's territory, let me tell you—"

*Slap!*

Before the subordinate could finish, Brother Hui immediately gave him a heavy slap. "Haha, Young Master Ling, my subordinate is ignorant."

"Brother Hui?" Ling Xian looked at Brother Hui with a sarcastic expression.

Sensing Ling Xian's gaze, Brother Hui felt like he was sitting on pins and needles. He immediately bowed his head. "I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare. Young Master Ling can just call me Xiao Hui."

Ling Xian didn't want to bother with this small fry at all. Instead, his gaze fell on Wu Poshan, and the more he looked, the more he liked what he saw.

"Wu Poshan, right? How much do you need for your sister's surgery?"

Wu Poshan's sturdy frame shuddered as he looked at Ling Xian in disbelief.

His sister was his greatest weakness. If the youth before him used her as a threat, he would be completely helpless.

"How... how do you know?" Wu Poshan's voice was weak.

"You were all talking about it for so long just now; it's not like I'm deaf," Ling Xian said nonchalantly.

"I'll cover your sister's surgery, her subsequent treatment, and the future livelihood of you and your sister."

"Come with me and work for me. I'll give you both a clean and honorable future."

"Instead of fighting underground matches in this filthy, run-down place."

As he spoke, he pulled a checkbook from his pocket, scribbled on it, tore off a check, and handed it to Wu Poshan. "This is a one-million-yuan advance on your salary."

"My employees get a base salary of one hundred thousand a month, full benefits, and year-end bonuses."

"There are bonuses for good performance, occasional red envelopes, and plenty of opportunities for raises in the future."

"Plus, there's professional team training to teach you how to become a true martial artist."

"By the way, I've already contacted the cardiac surgery expert team at Donghai First Hospital. They can arrange a full check-up and pre-op preparations for your sister at any time."

This series of actions and words flowed like water.

Yet the shock it delivered came in wave after wave.

Looking at that flimsy yet incredibly valuable check, Wu Poshan's heart pounded uncontrollably.

Compared to Brother Hui's empty promises and deductions, the person before him was like heaven compared to earth.

Wu Poshan couldn't snap out of it for a long time, not because he was worried the man was lying.

Someone even Brother Hui respected wouldn't bother tricking him.

Rather, everything felt a bit surreal.

"Bro... Brother..." Wu Poshan's hands and voice trembled.

"My name is Ling Xian," Ling Xian said calmly. "In the future, you can call me Boss."

"Wait!"

Just as Wu Poshan was about to agree, a deep and confident voice came from the entrance.

The crowd parted as a young man with a straight posture and ordinary appearance, wearing a simple jacket, strode forward.

His steps were steady, his aura restrained, and every movement bore the marks of professional training.

As expected of Lin Feng, who had been a mercenary abroad for many years.

Lin Feng had originally just been "passing by," but hearing the noise from the underground boxing arena, he habitually came in to check it out, never expecting to run into Wu Poshan.

He saw at a glance that Wu Poshan was a rare talent.

That ruthlessness and potential made him ecstatic.

You see, he had just returned and had no subordinates yet.

Even his former mercenary group couldn't follow him into the Dragon Kingdom.

So he simply wanted to recruit him for his own use.

Originally, he planned to wait until Wu Poshan truly couldn't take it anymore before stepping in to help.

Who would have thought someone would butt in halfway?

What annoyed him even more was that the other party was doing it by "throwing money around."

This gave him the feeling of having his thunder stolen.

Ignoring Ling Xian and Ling Wu, he walked straight up to Wu Poshan and struck a pose of speaking up for justice. "Brother, I can see you're an honest man."

"If you have any difficulties, you can tell me. I, Lin Feng, hate seeing people bully the virtuous the most."

"Why bow your head to others for a bit of money?"

A bit of money?

He deliberately ignored the fact that Ling Xian had offered a million, while Brother Hui had only offered ten thousand.

He downplayed Ling Xian's recruitment as "buying someone with a bit of money," attempting to take the moral high ground.

If Wu Poshan actually believed Lin Feng's words...

...then it could only be said that Wu Poshan's brain was mediocre at best, and he wouldn't be worth having.

Wu Poshan looked at Lin Feng, then at Ling Xian, his brow furrowed.

Lin Feng's words sounded righteous, but if one really thought about it, they'd realize he was even more shameless than Brother Hui.

A pure attempt to get something for nothing.

Besides, the man couldn't solve his urgent problem at all.

Ling Xian finally turned his gaze toward this King of Soldiers from the mercenary world, Lin Feng.

His face bore an undisguised sneer. "This... Mr. Lin Feng? Quite the big talker."

"You say he's bowing his head? I think you've got two things wrong."

He held up one finger. "First, I'm not making him bow his head; I'm solving a problem for my subordinate."

He placed special emphasis on the words "my subordinate."

Then, he held up a second finger, his gaze sweeping over the strangely-expressioned Brother Hui before returning to Lin Feng:

"Second, the one bullying the virtuous isn't me, it's this Brother Hui."

"You come in here pointing fingers at me without knowing right from wrong. Are you trying to show off your sense of justice, or..."

Ling Xian paused here, his tone playful. "...do you just find me eyesore and want an excuse to step on me?"

Lin Feng was choked up by Ling Xian's words.

He truly didn't know the situation; he just found Ling Xian annoying for some reason, feeling like the other man was stealing a "fortuitous encounter" that should have been his.

"What a glib tongue! I see you and this Brother Hui are just birds of a feather. For all I know, you two set this whole thing up."

Lin Feng turned back to Wu Poshan. "Brother, come with me."

"I can help you find a way to deal with the money issue."

"I even have ways to treat those Hidden injuries of yours, ensuring your strength reaches the next level."

Wu Poshan's eyes flickered.

Hidden injuries had always been a concern in his heart.
