296: It's just the Quanzhen Sect, is it that powerful?

"Good, good, you boy. We originally thought that letting you travel alone, with your honest and simple nature, it would be difficult for you to make it here."

"Looking at it now, we worried too much. You've done quite well." Ke Zhene nodded with satisfaction and patted Guo Jing's shoulder.

Receiving the Eldest Master's approval, Guo Jing scratched the back of his head with a silly grin.

"Hehe... it's all thanks to the good teachings of my Masters."

"Haha... good, very good. You boy, you truly haven't failed the teachings of the several of us." Ke Zhene nodded in satisfaction.

Now, as long as he won this martial arts competition, the bet from back then would be considered won.

At that moment, a dull, heavy sound rang out.

Then, everyone felt the entire restaurant tremble slightly.

Everyone looked toward the staircase together, only to see a middle-aged Daoist walking up while holding a large tripod with one hand.

This person was none other than one of the Seven Masters of Quanzhen, the Eternal Spring Immortal Master Qiu Chuji, Yang Kang's Master.

"Quanzhen's Qiu Chuji has come to fulfill the Eighteen-Year Promise." Qiu Chuji spoke calmly as he walked up carrying the tripod.

Beside him followed a handsome young man dressed in white with a sinister look in his eyes.

It was none other than Yang Kang.

The Seven Freaks of Jiangnan immediately looked toward the staircase, while only the eldest, Ke Zhene, sat there with a calm expression.

"Daoist Qiu, we haven't met for eighteen years. Have you been well?" Ke Zhene said in a calm tone.

"Haha... Hero Ke, eighteen years since we last met. Have you been well?"

"Since it's been so long, how about having a drink?" Qiu Chuji looked at Ke Zhene with a smile on his face.

"Haha... Good, having not seen each other for so long, we indeed should have a drink." Ke Zhene laughed and stood up.

This scene left the surrounding people with looks of surprise.

Quanzhen's Qiu Chuji was quite famous in the Song Dynasty Martial Arts World.

After all, that was the number one Daoist Sect in the Song Dynasty; the Seven Masters of Quanzhen under the Pure Yang Immortal Master were renowned in the Jianghu.

They hadn't expected to encounter them here.

Then who were these six strangely dressed people?

And what was this Eighteen-Year Promise?

"What's going on? Do you know?" Huang Rong looked at the situation that seemed ready for a fight and looked curiously at Duan Zhengchun.

"Yes, the Eighteen-Year Promise—an agreement between the Seven Freaks of Jiangnan and Qiu Chuji."

"Back then, the Seven Freaks of Jiangnan and Qiu Chuji fought a duel here, which ended with both sides injured, and neither side willing to back down."

"So they made an agreement for Qiu Chuji's disciple and the Seven Freaks of Jiangnan's disciple to compete again eighteen years later."

"That silly boy named Guo Jing is the disciple of the Seven Freaks of Jiangnan, and the young man beside Qiu Chuji is his disciple, Yang Kang."

"Guo Jing and Yang Kang are also descendants of famous men; their fathers were sworn brothers."

"Now that the Eighteen-Year Promise has arrived, they have come to fulfill it," Duan Zhengchun explained briefly.

"So that's how it is."

Duan Zhengchun's words weren't hidden from anyone, and the people around heard them.

Qiu Chuji and the Seven Freaks of Jiangnan naturally heard him too. They all looked toward Duan Zhengchun with surprised expressions.

Seeing Duan Zhengchun's extraordinary bearing and the noble air he exuded, they knew his identity was not simple.

When Yang Kang saw the Moon Princess, his eyes suddenly lit up.

What a beautiful woman. I've taken a fancy to her; I must get my hands on her today.

The Moon Princess instantly felt Yang Kang's gaze. Her eyes turned cold, and she gave him a chilling sidelong glance.

Instantly, a surge of killing intent shot toward Yang Kang.

Yang Kang had been looking at the Moon Princess infatuatedly when he suddenly felt the Aura around her change. The next moment, he felt a sharp pain in his eyes.

"Ugh... Ah, my eyes!" Yang Kang let out a miserable scream and covered his eyes.

The Moon Princess glanced at him and ignored him.

Qiu Chuji's expression changed. He couldn't care less about showing off anymore, put down the wine tripod, and hurriedly checked on Yang Kang's condition.

"Kanger, what happened? Are you alright?" Qiu Chuji asked anxiously.

"Master, I... I can't see anymore." Yang Kang's tone was filled with terror as he clutched his eyes and rolled on the ground in pain.

Qiu Chuji could see blood starting to flow from between Yang Kang's fingers.

Seeing this, his face instantly became dark and terrifying, and a horrifying Aura erupted from his body.

The strength of a Peak Grandmaster broke out, creating an Aura that the ordinary people around could not withstand, causing them to collapse onto the floor.

Yang Kang clutched his eyes with one hand in pain and pointed toward Duan Zhengchun's location with the other.

"Master, it's that woman, that bitch in purple."

Qiu Chuji suddenly turned to look at the Moon Princess's location. When he saw her, his expression instantly shifted.

He couldn't see through her strength, but for her to be able to blind his disciple invisibly without him noticing, her strength was definitely not simple.

It was very likely above his own.

"Young lady, in what way has my disciple offended you? Why did you strike so ruthlessly?" Qiu Chuji's face was dark as he struggled to suppress the fury in his heart while looking at the Moon Princess.

"If this disciple of yours cannot control his eyes, then there is no need for him to have them anymore." The Moon Princess's tone was cold and devoid of emotion.

She was originally an assassin and rarely smiled; only when facing Duan Zhengchun would she show a smile.

No one else could make her smile.

Qiu Chuji took a deep breath. He admitted that the purple-clad woman before him was indeed beautiful. Among the women he knew, perhaps only that young girl from the Ancient Tomb Sect could compare to her.

However, this girl's personality was quite different from that of the girl from the Ancient Tomb Sect.

The latter was indifferent and unconcerned with the outside world, as if nothing could catch her attention.

But the one before him was somewhat ruthless. Just because he looked at you a few times, you blinded him—wasn't that a bit much?

"If my disciple has offended you, it is due to my lack of discipline."

"I would have nothing to say if you had taught him a lesson, but for you to directly blind both his eyes, isn't that a bit excessive?"

"Or do you think my Quanzhen Sect is easy to bully?" Qiu Chuji stared at the Moon Princess with a grim face.

"Just the Quanzhen Sect, are they that impressive?" The Moon Princess's tone carried contempt.

Her words instantly made Qiu Chuji's hair stand on end.

The Quanzhen Sect and his Master were the gods in his heart, his highest faith.

He would never allow others to mock and despise them like this, even if the opponent was a woman.

"Impudent! Little girl, you dare to humiliate my Quanzhen Sect like this? Today, I, Qiu Chuji, shall see what skills you have." Qiu Chuji kicked back, and the sword on his back unsheathed itself.

With sword in hand, Qiu Chuji's Aura changed instantly, becoming sharp and piercing.

The Moon Princess's beautiful face suddenly turned cold. She gave Qiu Chuji a sidelong glance, her hand already placed on the sword she carried.

Seeing her gaze, Qiu Chuji's heart trembled. In that moment, he felt as if he had fallen into a life-and-death crisis.

If he dared to move even an inch, he would die in the next second.

"Go ahead. Leave him alive. Let him know that arrogance requires strength; if you have no strength, don't try to act tough here," Duan Zhengchun spoke in a calm tone.
