88: Miss Tang

Zhou Zhiruo watched Duan Zhengchun as he left, her heart filled with confusion.

She didn't know if what she was doing was right or wrong, but this was all she could do.

She only hoped now that her sacrifice would bring hope to the Emei Sect, and that Duan Zhengchun would keep his promise.

To spare the Emei Sect this once; otherwise, her sacrifice would be in vain.

"Hmph, I hope he is as good as his word. Otherwise, even if I have to die, I won't let him have me again," Zhou Zhiruo swore to herself.

After tidying herself up, Zhou Zhiruo went downstairs to eat.

However, while eating downstairs, she noticed that A Li and Yang Buhui were listless and had dark circles under their eyes, which made her curious.

"Eh? Did you two not rest last night?" Duan Zhengchun asked curiously.

Hearing Duan Zhengchun's words, A Li and Yang Buhui gave him a sharp eye-roll.

The meaning was obvious: don't you know exactly what's going on with us?

You bastard, the noise was so loud; it would be a miracle if we could rest well.

Yang Buhui looked at Duan Zhengchun with a resentful expression, unable to describe the feeling in her heart.

"What's with that look? Did I say something wrong?" Duan Zhengchun said.

"Young Master, do you really not know, or are you just pretending?"

"Are you really not clear about why we are like this?" Yang Buhui said.

Only then did Duan Zhengchun realize that last night, it seemed he had "blown up the street" with all the noise.

No wonder A Li and Yang Buhui had those expressions.

Blowing up the street—that sound was too stimulating; any normal person wouldn't be able to sleep.

However, what puzzled him was why only A Li and Yang Buhui looked like this. Why hadn't Zhao Min, Xiao Zhao, and Daiqisi come down yet?

"Cough... well, my mistake, my mistake. I'll be more careful in the future, I'll be more careful."

"Why is it just the two of you? Where are Min Min and the others?" Duan Zhengchun asked.

"Don't know. We didn't see them when we got up," A Li said listlessly.

Just as she finished speaking, footsteps were heard.

Zhao Min, Xiao Zhao, and Daiqisi walked down, looking full of energy.

Seeing A Li and Yang Buhui's listless appearance, they couldn't help but exchange glances, each seeing the amusement in the others' eyes.

"Eh? A Li, Buhui, what's wrong with you two? Why do you look so drained?" Zhao Min asked curiously.

"Sister Minmin, it was so noisy last night, did you guys not hear anything?" A Li looked at Zhao Min in surprise.

"I heard it. Someone so lacking in public spirit in the middle of the night—I can't think of anyone else besides my husband," Zhao Min said.

"You heard it, so why do you look completely unaffected?" A Li asked in astonishment.

"Because I fell asleep," Zhao Min shrugged.

"With all that commotion, you could actually sleep?" A Li stared at Zhao Min with wide eyes.

"Couldn't you just seal your sense of hearing?" Zhao Min said.

A Li: ... Yang Buhui: ... That actually does seem like a solution.

Why hadn't they thought of that?

A Li and Yang Buhui exchanged a look, the gloom on their faces deepening.

Zhao Min looked at Duan Zhengchun and found that his mental state was completely unaffected.

"So? Did you have fun last night?" Zhao Min asked with a smile.

"Don't talk nonsense. I didn't do anything. I just went out for a stroll. I'm a decent man," Duan Zhengchun said with a smile.

Zhao Min looked puzzled. For a moment, even with her high IQ, she was baffled by Duan Zhengchun's words. You, a decent man? You're probably not even human when you're being 'decent', right?

However, she had already figured out her man's character; he loved to say all sorts of nonsense, and often things that were hard to understand.

Whenever he said these mysterious things, they were definitely nothing good. It was best to just pretend not to hear them. Otherwise, she would be the one to suffer.

"As long as my husband is happy. If Zhou Zhiruo can't satisfy you, I'll have someone kill her right now," Zhao Min said with a smile.

"Hey, a young girl shouldn't always be talking about fighting and killing."

"Leave the rough work like fighting and killing to your husband," Duan Zhengchun said.

"Is this 'fighting and killing' you're talking about decent?" Zhao Min looked at Duan Zhengchun with a blossoming smile.

"Decent, of course it's decent," Duan Zhengchun said with a serious expression.

"Alright, it's getting late. Let's eat something and get on our way," Zhao Min said with a smile.

As for her lustful and audacious husband, she didn't believe a single word he said regarding such matters.

After everyone had eaten and just as they were setting off, their path was blocked by someone.

"Who goes there? Why are you blocking the way?" Crane Brush Elder asked coldly.

"Your Excellency, please don't misunderstand. We are here because our Young Miss would like to invite Young Master Tang to the manor for a chat." The man was dressed in blue, a kind smile on his face.

"Who is your Young Miss?" Crane Brush Elder frowned.

"Well, Young Master Tang will know once he gets there."

"Hmph, someone like you who doesn't even dare to state their identity wants to invite our Young Master? Are you dreaming?" Deer Staff Guest said coldly.

"I think this matter should be put to Young Master Tang himself."

"I believe Young Master Tang will definitely agree to come."

"After all, wasn't everything he did before for the sake of today?" the man said calmly.

At this time, Duan Zhengchun and the others in the carriage also heard the voices outside.

Zhao Min looked at Duan Zhengchun with great interest, her expression carrying a hint of teasing.

"Uh, Min Min, why are you looking at me like that?" Duan Zhengchun felt a bit embarrassed under her gaze.

"The Eldest Young Miss has personally sent an invitation to your door. Aren't you going to say something?"

"Or do you intend to just avoid meeting her like this?" Zhao Min said with a smile.

"But I really don't know who that Young Miss is!" Duan Zhengchun said with a bewildered look.

"You really don't know?" Zhao Min narrowed her eyes at Duan Zhengchun.

"Well... should I know, or should I not know?" Duan Zhengchun said awkwardly.

"Hmph, that's your own business. She's here for you, so why are you telling me?"

"Go if you want to go, don't if you don't. It's your freedom," Zhao Min said irritably.

"Forget it, I'll go see what's going on."
