477: Why is Cheng so determined to confront the powerful King Kao Shan?

"You want to fight? I'll oblige..." Guihai Yidao sneered, his hand already resting on the hilt of his saber.

"Come on, come on! Whoever backs down is a coward." Cheng Shifei, emboldened, made a provocative gesture toward Guihai Yidao.

"That's enough! What kind of behavior is this?" Zhu Wushi snorted coldly.

The sound caused a sharp pain in Cheng Shifei's eardrums, making him involuntarily cover his ears.

"Hey, Divine Marquis, why are you shouting so loudly? I'm not deaf." Cheng Shifei looked at Zhu Wushi, annoyed.

This guy was originally a scoundrel; he wouldn't have dared to be this arrogant before he gained this level of strength.

But now that he had received Gu Santong's complete Internal Energy, the Vajra Indestructible Divine Skill, and the Cultivation Techniques of the Eight Great Sects, he had become utterly conceited.

He always thought he was invincible under heaven, and now he had become the Yellow Character Secret Agent, one of the Dragon Guard Manor's four great secret agents.

This made him feel like he had reached the Peak of his life; anyone who dared to disobey him would be dealt with.

Guihai Yidao had always looked down on him, which irritated him greatly. If they weren't colleagues, he would have attacked long ago.

Now that he was talking about him like this again, he wouldn't continue to swallow his anger.

Forget Guihai Yidao, he even had the confidence to fight the Divine Marquis.

Seeing the Divine Marquis openly take sides now made him even more unhappy.

"Some matters aren't as simple as you think. Being able to fight isn't enough. Your current strength is no different from an ant in front of that person."

"And yet, you still want to cause trouble for them?" Zhu Wushi stared at Cheng Shifei with a cold face.

"Hmph, Divine Marquis, I'm timid, so don't try to scare me."

"My current strength is at least that of a Grandmaster Peak Master. Who is so powerful that killing me would be as easy as crushing an ant?" Cheng Shifei looked unconvinced.

"Just Grandmaster Peak? Is that impressive? You can't even defeat This Marquis, yet you want to challenge them?" Zhu Wushi looked at Cheng Shifei with a mocking expression.

"That's because I haven't fully adapted yet. Once I've completely adapted, I will definitely be able to defeat the Divine Marquis." Cheng Shifei remained defiant.

"If you defeat me, you'll be invincible? Do you really think having the Vajra Indestructible Divine Skill makes you unbeatable?"

"In the face of true strength, there is no such thing as an unbeatable existence; only the strongest can be invincible."

"You aren't even in the Heavenly Human Realm, and you want to fight an Earth Immortal Realm Master? Is there something wrong with your head?" Zhu Wushi scolded him irritably.

"Wait, Divine Marquis, you aren't suggesting that this matter was handled by an Earth Immortal Realm Master, are you?" Cheng Shifei's expression suddenly changed as he looked at Zhu Wushi.

"This Marquis never said that, but if your recklessness ruins things, This Marquis won't be able to protect you."

"Alright, my mistake. I'm just curious about who that person is."

"There's no need to be so secretive about me, right? I'm one of the four great secret agents and participated in this mission. Why don't I have the right to know?" Cheng Shifei pouted, dissatisfied.

"You just joined the Dragon Guard Manor and don't know much about the matters of the Jianghu."

"But surely you've heard of the strongest person on the Kyushu Continent?" Zhu Wushi shook his head helplessly.

"The strongest person on the Kyushu Continent? Divine Marquis, are you talking about Prince Duan, King Kaoshan of the Kingdom of Dali?" Cheng Shifei looked at Zhu Wushi in surprise.

"Since you know of his existence, how could you not know that he came to my Great Ming to watch the duel between the two Sword Gods?" Zhu Wushi said with a dark expression.

"My heavens, Divine Marquis, you aren't saying that Prince Duan did this, are you? He, really is that formidable?"

"Even if he is that formidable, he shouldn't just randomly kill the innocent, right? Isn't this slapping the face of my Great Ming?" Cheng Shifei said, displeased.

"Hmph, arrogant and ignorant. Since you insist, This Marquis will give you a choice: if you want to live, give up the investigation; if you want to die, then go ahead. I'll tell you where he lives right now." Zhu Wushi said coldly.

"Wait, Divine Marquis, does this guy really dare to kill people from our Dragon Guard Manor? I am one of the four great secret agents, representing the Imperial Family."

"If he kills me, won't he fear causing conflict between the Great Ming and the Kingdom of Dali?" Cheng Shifei's expression changed, and he looked nervously at Zhu Wushi.

"Idiot! Only someone at your low level would have such a foolish idea. Since you know Duan Zhengchun's identity, you should also know that he single-handedly destroyed the 400,000-strong army of the Jin Kingdom."

"An existence who can suppress an entire nation alone—and you're here telling This Marquis that he wouldn't dare kill a mere secret agent like you?"

"Since you're so defiant, I'll hand this matter over to you. However, this will be your personal action, unrelated to the Dragon Guard Manor or the Imperial Court."

"Go handle it. Prince Duan is currently at the largest estate in the west of the city. If you can succeed in this matter, This Marquis will step down and let you become the Manor Lord." After Zhu Wushi finished speaking, he didn't even glance at Cheng Shifei and turned to leave.

Cheng Shifei's face instantly turned green. He was supposed to go alone? And represent himself as an individual? Unrelated to the Dragon Guard Manor or the Imperial Court?

If he went by himself, wouldn't he just be asking for trouble?

"Hey, wait! Divine Marquis, you can't play like this! If I don't have the status of a secret agent, what reason do I have to go look for trouble with him?" Cheng Shifei shouted anxiously.

"You're stubborn. Why talk about this? The Dragon Guard Manor doesn't dare to trouble him, but you do. You fear no one, yet you fear this?" Guihai Yidao stared blankly, glanced at him, and turned to leave.

Duan Tianya opened his mouth, unsure of what to say for a moment.

This guy really is a newborn calf! But thinking about it, it was normal. He was originally an ignorant hoodlum; suddenly gaining such power, how could he not become inflated?

In the blink of an eye, only Cheng Shifei was left.

Cheng Shifei saw that he was the only one remaining, and his face alternated between green and white.

"Fine, very well. If that's the case, then This Young Master will go personally."

"When the time comes, once I capture that Duan Zhengchun, we'll see what you all do." Cheng Shifei spat disdainfully and walked away with arrogant steps.

After Zhu Wushi left the Dragon Guard Manor, he headed to the Imperial Palace to see The Emperor.

Just as Zhuge Xiaohua had said, The Emperor still needed to know about this matter. Perhaps this opportunity could be used to improve relations with Duan Zhengchun.

As expected, Zhuge Xiaohua also appeared.

Moreover, he was one step ahead of him. It seemed, just as Duan Tianya had said, that the Six Doors people had moved first.

"Divine Constable Zhuge, what a coincidence. Do you have something to discuss with The Emperor?" Zhu Wushi looked at Zhuge Xiaohua with a smile.

"Greetings, Prince. It's nothing major, just some minor incidents that I came to report to The Emperor." Zhuge Xiaohua smiled and nodded.

"What a coincidence, This Prince also has some matters to discuss with The Emperor. How about we go together?" Zhu Wushi looked at Zhuge Xiaohua with a smile.

Both of them knew exactly why they were there, but neither spoke of it directly.

The two didn't have to wait long before Cao Zhengchun arrived before them with a smiling face.

"Divine Constable, Marquis, The Emperor requests your presence in the Imperial Study."

Zhu Wushi and Zhuge Xiaohua exchanged glances, followed Cao Zhengchun to the Imperial Study, where The Emperor was handling memorials at his desk.
