553: The Clay Bodhisattva Appears, the Second Half of Xiong Ba's Life

"Feng'er, are you certain Duan Zhengchun stated those conditions?" Tyrant's eyes were fixed on Nie Feng.

"Master is wise; there is not a single word of falsehood."

"It's just that we didn't know Master had a daughter, so the Alliance negotiations didn't succeed this time. I ask for Master's punishment." Nie Feng lowered his head, not daring to look at Tyrant.

Tyrant took a deep breath; a fire cannot be wrapped in paper forever.

He knew this matter would be discovered sooner or later, but he still wanted to keep it hidden as long as possible to provide an extra layer of security for his daughter.

He hadn't expected that this Duan Zhengchun, far away in the Kingdom, would actually know about this. How exactly did he find out?

Could it be that there was a spy from the Kingdom by his side?

That shouldn't be possible. The World Society was tens of thousands of miles away from the Kingdom and had no dealings with it; there was no reason for him to plant a mole in the World Society.

Furthermore, never mind Duan Zhengchun—even the Emperor could only be considered a Junior before him, and they had no contact at all.

What exactly was going on? Could it be that this Duan Zhengchun had some sort of clairvoyant ability?

Just like that Clay Buddha, who could know all the affairs of the world?

"You didn't know about this, so I cannot blame you."

"You've worked hard on this journey. Go down and rest first." Tyrant waved his hand.

"Tyrant, give me your life!"

At that moment, an angry shout rang out, and two Men in Black rushed in, their swords aimed straight for Tyrant.

Tyrant sat steadily on his throne, looking at the sudden assassins with a dark expression and a cold sneer in his heart.

Mere Grandmasters dare to assassinate this seat? They are simply seeking death.

As expected, he didn't need to act; Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun had already moved to intercept the black-clad assassins.

Bu Jingyun was already in the Grandmaster Realm, and Nie Feng was also in the Grandmaster Realm. Facing two such assassins was no trouble at all.

Nie Feng was faster, instantly executing the Wind God Kick to suppress one of the Grandmasters.

Meanwhile, Bu Jingyun used the Cloud-Dispelling Palm to fight the other Grandmaster. However, when he saw the sword technique the opponent was using, a sharp light flashed in Bu Jingyun's eyes.

His movements paused for a split second, and the opponent immediately seized the opportunity, unleashing a fierce sword technique that sent countless sword shadows stabbing toward Bu Jingyun's vital points.

Bu Jingyun quickly regained his focus and immediately unleashed the Cloud-Dispelling Palm. His Grandmaster Realm aura erupted as he directly met those sword shadows.

"Clang, clang, clang..."

A series of metallic clashing sounds rang out. The sword light vanished, and Bu Jingyun's palm strike hit the Man in Black directly, sending him flying backward instantly.

Just as the man tried to get up, a long sword was already pressed against his neck.

"Audacious assassins, how dare you try to assassinate our Sect Leader! You're simply seeking death! Men, take them away and behead them!" Wen Chou Chou ordered imperiously.

"Wait... take them down first and interrogate them to find out their identities," Tyrant said coldly.

"Yes, Master..."

Bu Jingyun bowed to Tyrant and turned to lead the two assassins away.

"Master, if there is nothing else, your disciple will take his leave." Nie Feng cupped his hands.

Tyrant waved his hand, his expression shifting between light and dark.

He was weighing the pros and cons of whether to agree to Duan Zhengchun's request.

Now that news of his daughter had leaked, his enemies would likely come knocking. Even if they didn't dare show up directly at the World Society, there was no guarantee their people weren't already inside.

If the enemy used underhanded methods against those close to him, he would be powerless. His daughter was his weakness; once someone got a hold of her, he would be the one to suffer.

"Sect Leader, that brat Duan Lang has run away."

"Oh? So Dugu Yifang doesn't intend to surrender?" Tyrant narrowed his eyes, a cold sneer playing on his lips.

"Then, what should we do next?" Wen Chou Chou asked cautiously.

"Has Qin Shuang returned?" Tyrant asked expressionlessly, answering with a question.

"Not yet, but he should be back soon." Wen Chou Chou's expression stiffened.

He naturally knew why Tyrant was asking; he was waiting for news of the Clay Buddha. Tyrant wanted the Clay Buddha to divine the fate of the second half of his life.

"Get news of Qin Shuang as soon as possible. As for the rest, we'll talk after he returns." Tyrant's face was grim and unsightly.

"Report... Reporting to the Sect Leader, Hall Master Shuang has returned."

"Quick, have him come see me immediately!"

Upon hearing that Qin Shuang was back, Tyrant's eyes lit up, and the corners of his mouth curled slightly.

His mood improved significantly; he needed to clarify the prophecy for the second half of his life, otherwise, he would be unable to eat or sleep in peace.

It would have been one thing if the Clay Buddha's previous words hadn't come true, but they had. It was precisely because of Feng and Yun that the World Society had become the number one sect in the Martial Forest. However, back then, the Clay Buddha had only given the prophecy for the first half of his life.

As for the second half, he hadn't spoken, insisting on waiting until Feng and Yun were found and the world was won. He said that even if he spoke it, it would be useless if Tyrant didn't obtain those Geniuses.

Back then, Tyrant had a favor to ask, so he could only listen to the Clay Buddha.

Because in the Jianghu, it was rumored that there was nothing the Clay Buddha could not calculate accurately.

Sure enough, following the Clay Buddha's prophecy, he found Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun. With the two of them, the World Society's momentum in unifying the Jianghu was unstoppable.

Now, the World Society claimed to have a million members, and only Peerless City had yet to submit.

This was mainly because Peerless City was guarded by a Sword Saint. Out of wariness for the Sword Saint, Tyrant had not used force.

However, even so, he was determined to take Peerless City to achieve true unification of the Jianghu.

Soon, Qin Shuang arrived at the Heaven-Reaching Pavilion with a man whose face was covered in sores and a little girl of four or five.

"Master, I have successfully completed the mission. The Clay Buddha has been brought here." Qin Shuang cupped his hands in greeting to Tyrant.

"Shuang'er has done well. You've worked hard on this journey; go and rest." Tyrant nodded with satisfaction, signaling that Qin Shuang could leave.

Qin Shuang nodded and took his leave.

Tyrant looked at the Clay Buddha with a smile.

"Clay Buddha, you certainly made me search for you."

"Sect Leader Tyrant, why must you do this?"

"Sect Leader Tyrant has already achieved his current success. The World Society is the number one sect, its prestige surpassing even the Beggars Sect."

"Why do you still persist in this?" The Clay Buddha looked at Tyrant with a face full of helplessness.

"Clay Buddha, back then you only gave me the prophecy for the first half of my life. According to your words, I found Feng and Yun, and I obtained this Jianghu."

"But I need you to tell me exactly what the prophecy for the second half of my life is."

"If there are changes, I must make preparations in advance." Tyrant's tone was full of confidence and dominance, a powerful aura of a grand hegemon erupting from him.

However, in the Clay Buddha's eyes, Tyrant's hegemonic Luck had already begun to decline. This decline was destined from the moment he was captured.

Because he understood Tyrant better than anyone; if he didn't speak, Tyrant would surely use every means to coerce him.

And once he spoke, Tyrant was destined for destruction.

"Sect Leader Tyrant, take my advice and give it up. As the saying goes, it is better to remain ignorant."
