25: Chapter 25 A-Rank Genius, Blood Kill
"Damn it!"
Back in his private room, 'Everyone Praises My Honesty' couldn't help but curse, mentally tearing Chen Mo, that devious brat, to shreds.
"No way, I have to get even." Brother Honesty slapped his thigh and decisively sent a friend request to Chen Mo with a message attached.
"Brat, if you've got the guts, let's go another round."
"Sorry, not interested. {Smirking Emoji}"
"Damn it." The man roared in anger, then, refusing to give up, sent another request.
"Wager match, dare you?"
This time, Chen Mo's reply was much slower.
"Ding-dong, friend request accepted."
"It worked!" The man felt a surge of joy, but Chen Mo's next reply made him grind his teeth in hatred.
"Busy for now. {'You're weak' Emoji}"
...
"This kid!"
Administrator 56, watching everything from the System backend, couldn't help but laugh out loud.
He had finally realized!
Chen Mo was like a Treasure Trove, constantly revealing new surprises.
"Another type of Law, and his comprehension has already crossed the threshold of a Second-Tier Divine Art."
56 watched the figure in the projection who had clicked match again, waiting for the final placement match, and silently made a decision.
One minute later.
"Match found!"
Chen Mo, who was teasing little Yu Mo, paused slightly. Compared to the last match, this match-up time was much faster than he had anticipated.
"Master, good luck."
Yu Mo waved her little fist vigorously, not forgetting to display the opponent's information to Chen Mo via projection before leaving.
ID: White Phoenix
Rank: Gold III
Record: 27 wins, 1 loss.
"An expert!"
Chen Mo's heart tightened, and his gaze immediately turned to the figure walking out.
White clothes, white hair, and a longsword encased in ice crystals in his hand.
"Placement match?"
White Phoenix first glanced at Chen Mo in surprise, then the next second, his longsword was drawn, and he slashed diagonally at Chen Mo.
No hesitation, and certainly no underestimation of Chen Mo.
As for why one would say that...
"A divine relics!"
The Divine Power in Chen Mo's hand couldn't help but tremble slightly. It wasn't out of nervousness, but because of the bone-chilling cold that had reached him even before the Sword Qi.
Although the Myriad Domain Arena had certain restrictions on external items, it only limited disposable items, such as divine art cards or secret medicines.
However, for special equipment like divine relicss that required prior ownership, the Myriad Domain Arena allowed them to be replicated and brought into the arena.
This wasn't fair, but in a sense, it was the greatest fairness, as a divine relics was also a part of one's strength.
As for what a divine relics is, you can understand it as a type of Law Divine Artifact, but one that comes from civilizations that have already perished.
Anything that can be called a divine relics could only possibly be produced by at least a medium-level civilization that had birthed a Supreme Being, or even a high-level civilization.
In his past life, Chen Mo didn't know how many player wars he had participated in that were triggered by divine relicss, yet he had never succeeded once.
"System, are you targeting me?"
Chen Mo couldn't help but complain while using Earth Control to erect several stone walls.
He had thought the opponent in the tenth stage would be strong, but he hadn't expected them to be this strong.
"First-Tier Earth Defense Divine Art!"
Watching the blocked Sword Qi, White Phoenix frowned slightly, seemingly dissatisfied with the result, so he swung a second sword strike.
Compared to the sword strike he had casually swung before, this one clearly contained a formidable Ice Law.
In an instant, the world seemed to turn frost-white.
The Sword Qi flew in front, and the world behind was being frozen inch by inch.
"Damn it!"
Chen Mo finally couldn't help but curse, but he could only exhaust all his strength to drive the power of earth and the Earth Law. Soon, walls of stone stood before him, numbering in the dozens.
Yet even so, these stone walls, which could block most First-Tier Divine Arts, were like paper; they were cut open one by one by the Sword Qi, then shattered into ice shards all over the ground.
Fortunately, the Divine Power that both Chen Mo and White Phoenix could utilize was limited.
After the Divine Power contained in this sword strike was exhausted, the Sword Qi finally dissipated slowly with only three walls left between it and Chen Mo.
"56, it's not that I'm criticizing you, but while this kid is decent, there was no need to send White Phoenix!"
In the Virtual Universe backend, there was another figure beside 56 at this moment.
Both of them were watching the projection, but their expressions were completely different.
"Don't be impatient."
56 stared at Chen Mo in the projection; while he appeared calm on the surface, he was actually quite anxious inside.
He had personally arranged this battle, even going so far as to ask another Administrator to step in.
White Phoenix, a true Genius who had already signed an a-rank contract with a major power.
Not only was his comprehension of Laws far beyond his peers, but he was also a direct descendant of a powerful clan.
As long as such a person didn't fall midway, a True God was just the starting point. The major power that signed White Phoenix had also explicitly stated that they were cultivating White Phoenix as a 'Supreme Being stock'.
"You're still not giving up. Can't you see how big the gap is between the two of them?"
77, who had personally signed White Phoenix, shook his head helplessly, not considering Chen Mo to be a match for White Phoenix at all.
"Quiet!"
56 suddenly became incomparably serious. It wasn't just him; even 77, who had been uninterested just a moment ago, paused slightly, looking in surprise at the wave of blood-red that had dyed the world red.
"Divine Art!"
Chen Mo's voice carried thick killing intent. The blood threads covering the world converged entirely before him at this moment, forming a scarlet spear made of countless intertwined blood threads.
"Blood Kill!"
"Whoosh!"
The spear flew out like a sharp arrow, aiming straight at White Phoenix.
"You... are not bad!"
White Phoenix, watching the blood-red light shooting towards him, showed a hint of fluctuation in his calm, unruffled eyes for the first time, and then he simply swung his sword again.
But this sword strike was no longer a simple slash; it contained a powerful Divine Art that far exceeded Chen Mo's current limit.
"Third-Tier Divine Art: Cold Moon!"
The cold voice and the sound of the Sword Qi piercing the air rang out simultaneously, as if tolling the funeral bell for Chen Mo!
The next instant, the world stood still.
Not in terms of time, but physically.
As far as the eye could see, everything was covered in frost, including the Blood Kill spear that had shot towards him, and including... Chen Mo!
"He lost after all, but it's not easy to force out White Phoenix's Third-Tier Divine Art." 77 nodded, acknowledging Chen Mo's potential.
Hearing this, 56 took a deep breath. After hesitating for a few seconds, he prepared to turn off the projection, but the next second.
"Pfft..."
White Phoenix, who had been standing on the spot like a cold, aloof male god, suddenly spat out a large mouthful of black blood.
The blood hit the ground, and even the already frozen ground was corroded into holes.
White Phoenix raised his head in pain, looking in disbelief at the figure that had already been frozen.
"Winner, White Phoenix!"
The delayed notification sound rang out slowly, and Chen Mo, in his frozen state, completely lost his vitality and dissipated into countless specks of light.
