3: Chapter 3 Prion X
The [Viral Primogenitor Library] was Chen Mo's greatest achievement in his past Life, second only to the Plague God System.
Using a godhead as a carrier, it stored tens of thousands of transcendent viruses he had painstakingly collected, along with their improved variants; it was also the prototype for the countless servant races in his Divine Kingdom in his previous Life.
"Although there are many choices, the ones most suitable for me right now are actually quite limited."
Chen Mo had a clear goal as he browsed through the viral library.
For him at this moment, a good virus was one that was easy to sustain and could rapidly form combat power.
"It's you, [Prion X]."
Chen Mo took out the godhead crystal. Within the seemingly transparent, pale purple crystal, tens of thousands of particles resembling stars were suspended.
Under the intervention of his will, one of the dark red 'stars' suddenly magnified, passing through the godhead crystal in the blink of an eye and appearing before him.
'Prion X' was a transcendent virus variant that Chen Mo had used from his early days all the way to his late-stage period.
However, to fully utilize this virus, a prerequisite was needed—or rather, most of the viruses in Chen Mo's hands required this condition—and that was... a carrier.
In the Plague God System, except for a few elemental types or those used directly as weapons, the reproduction and growth of most viruses required a carrier.
The good news was that Prion X had very low requirements for a carrier, which was exactly why Chen Mo chose it.
Without hesitation, Chen Mo's right hand twitched slightly, and a pale gold card moved from his storage bracelet to his fingertips.
[retinue card]!
As the name suggested, this was a spatial card specifically used to store servant races.
For some powerful deities, cultivating transcendent creatures that reproduced quickly and held high value was not a difficult task.
It was worth mentioning that whether it was a True God's Divine Kingdom or a demigod's Divine Domain, only Rank One Life forms and below could be used as initial servant races.
As long as non-native Life forms higher than Rank One appeared, they would be rejected by the Divine Domain and quickly perish.
Therefore, powerful servant races were all cultivated slowly by oneself; this was one of the underlying rules of the Divine Domain.
However, the retinue card in his hand was not a 'transcendent Life' bred in the Divine Domain, but a type of 'exotic beast' bred in the present world by an Interstellar Conglomerate.
For the New Human Federation at the top of the food chain, there were massive amounts of occupied civilized continents and interstellar planets in the outer domains.
These were all precious lands that could serve as resource extraction sites and breeding grounds for initial servant races.
[Blood Beast: Flesh-and-blood type Rank One exotic beast {Extremely low potential, no evolution path}]
Looking at the name and description on the back of the retinue card, Chen Mo shook his head inwardly.
To be honest, unless one was driven mad by poverty, no one would ever cultivate this kind of trash, fit only to serve as blood food or consumables, as a servant race.
*Snap!*
With a light tap of Chen Mo's finger, the card instantly shattered. A hundred streaks of light flew out, transforming into bloated beastly shadows, each over two meters tall.
How should one describe them? They were somewhat like a combination of a hippopotamus and a domestic pig, with reddish-brown fur.
"Wooo wooo...!"
As soon as the hundred or so Blood Beasts landed, they let out uneasy whimpers, their eyes filled with fear of the unfamiliar environment.
But Chen Mo didn't care about any of that.
From his first year to his third year of high school, the weekly exotic race dissection classes had long since made him cast aside that useless 'mercy.'
He held the Prion Virus primogenitor in his hand, and the orb of light, as if conscious, sent him a sense of longing.
"Don't be in a hurry, it's all yours."
With Chen Mo's approval, the blood-colored orb of light immediately leaped up and, in an impatient manner, submerged into the body of the Blood Beast closest to it.
The parasitism began, and it was also the end.
That Blood Beast, which had still been roaring in fear, went limp on the ground in just a few seconds.
When it stood up again, its eyes had already turned a blood-like crimson, and it then lunged without hesitation at the nearest member of its own kind.
*Crunch!*
Though it was a herbivorous creature, it bit off nearly half of its companion's neck in a single mouthful. Then, without the slightest lingering attachment, it ran straight toward its next target.
The other Blood Beasts watched this scene in horror. They wanted to run, but they found that their bloated, fat bodies could not move at all.
Not far away, Chen Mo watched all of this expressionlessly, a speck of golden light dancing on his fingertip—clearly his handiwork.
Just moments ago, he had crushed another card. But this time it wasn't a retinue card; it was a Rank Three divine power card containing 100 points of divine power.
As for what divine power was?
It was a high-level energy formed by the condensation and sublimation of Power Of Faith, also known as the universal power.
As long as one had enough divine power, whether it was expanding the area of the Divine Domain or accelerating the development of the Divine Domain and its servant races, nothing was difficult.
And divine power itself was also an important component of a deity's combat strength.
For example, right now, Chen Mo had spent less than one point of divine power to pin down nearly a hundred Blood Beasts that had stepped into the transcendent rank, making them unable to move.
But what was most desperate and most terrifying for these Blood Beasts was not the inability to move, but...
"Awoo... wooo...!"
A screech that didn't sound like a living thing rang out.
The source was none other than the Blood Beast that had 'died miserably' after having half its neck bitten off.
It stood up with difficulty, and even though blood bubbles were still constantly rising from its throat, it still stumbled toward its companions nearby.
The slaughter continued. In less than five minutes, all one hundred Blood Beasts had become hosts for Prion X, or rather... 'mothers.'
Servant Race: Blood Beast {Parasitic Species}
Rating: Common
Level: 12 {Transcendent Rank One}
Strength 13, Speed 7, Spirit 6
Faith Level: True Believer
Special Status: [Aberration] {Completion 1.49%}
[Note: In the Aberration state, all data of the Parasitic Species will continue to decline until it completely becomes nourishment for the virus.]
[Note: After the Aberration is complete, the viral primogenitor will change the host's original Life form and complete its transformation.]
Chen Mo looked at these hundred Blood Beasts with missing limbs, and the hundred Blood Beasts also looked at Chen Mo.
In their blood-colored pupils, there was nothing but reverence for Chen Mo, even fanaticism.
In the next second, exactly one hundred pale red thin lines suddenly flew out from the heads of the Blood Beasts, aimed directly at Chen Mo.
Chen Mo did not dodge, allowing these thin lines to pass through his body.
Faith—the foundation for the growth and expansion of the Divine Path. And this happened to be another major advantage of the Plague God System.
Because they were directly split from the viral primogenitor, all Parasitic Species were born with absolute faith in Chen Mo.
As for how much Faith Power a believer could produce, that depended on the believer's faith level.
From low to high, faith levels were divided into four grades: Casual Believer, True Believer, fanatic, and Saint, with each level differing by tenfold.
According to the Faith Power output standard of a True Believer, one natural day in the Void Realm could provide roughly 1 unit of Power Of Faith; converted to the time of the present world, that was 100 points a day.
It seemed like a lot, but it was actually pitifully little, because the conversion ratio of Faith Power to divine power was a staggering 10,000:1.
However, Chen Mo was not unprepared.
Although most initial retinue cards were not cheap, the Blood Beast card was an exception; besides the one he had just used, there were nine more in his storage bracelet.
*Snap... snap... snap...*
The sounds of cards shattering were continuous. In the blink of an eye, the space before Chen Mo was filled with beastly shadows.
Interestingly, as soon as these extremely low-intelligence Blood Beasts appeared, they very consciously avoided the Parasitic Species located in the center, seemingly instinctively fearing these 'kin' who looked like them but were already completely different.
As for the Parasitic Species, there was nothing but greed in their eyes.
For them, infection would accelerate the progress of Aberration. If Chen Mo hadn't yet given the order, these guys would have lunged forward long ago.
