57: Chapter 57 The Origin of Virtual Laws
"Dear Master, you're finally back."
Chen Mo had gone directly to the Public Divine Kingdom after finishing his seclusion in the Divine Domain, so Yu Mo hadn't seen him for nearly a day.
This made the little fellow a bit worried while also missing her dear master immensely.
"You little thing!"
Chen Mo pulled Yu Mo away from his forehead and smiled gently. "So, did anyone come looking for me at home?"

"Yes, people have been looking for you in both reality and the Virtual Universe."
As she spoke, Yu Mo used information particles to outline two figures. One was his third uncle, Chen Xueli, standing outside Chen Mo's small courtyard.
The other was outside Chen Mo's exclusive room in the Virtual Universe, where a cool, aloof young man in white stood.
"White Phoenix!"
Chen Mo glanced at White Phoenix, wondering in his heart why this guy would come looking for him.
"Did he leave any message?"
"No. I chatted for a bit with his Virtual Elf, and then he left on his own."
Yu Mo shook her little head, then flew onto the Virtual Watch, looking at Chen Mo with expectant eyes. "Master, are we going to the Virtual Universe?"
"Yeah, let's go to the Virtual Universe first."
Chen Mo didn't refuse, because he indeed had many things that had to be handled in the Virtual Universe.
First and foremost were the resources after his Second Transition.
According to his contract with Blue Cave, he had to apply to No. 56, the middleman.
Three minutes later, inside Chen Mo's exclusive room in the Virtual Universe.
"I'm not criticizing you, but you're willing to treat me to such good tea, so why are you so stingy about expanding your room?"
Sitting on the sofa Chen Mo had just 'purchased' and holding a teacup, No. 56 pointed at the slightly cramped room, somewhat speechless.
"Why waste money on that?"
Chen Mo chuckled and refilled No. 56's cup. This wasn't just simple tea; it was premium Spirit Tea from a large-scale plane.
In reality, a single tael of this tea could be exchanged for hundreds of transcendent slaves. If converted to Federation Credits, it would be at least a hundred thousand or more.
However, this was the Virtual Universe; Chen Mo only spent one percent of the price to enjoy an almost identical experience.
"You rascal!"
No. 56 took the teacup from Chen Mo and couldn't help but shake his head with a chuckle.
"So, tell me, why did you call me here this time?"
As the middleman between Chen Mo and Blue Cave, No. 56 naturally knew that the other had formally signed with Blue Cave.
Usually, this was the period when 'geniuses' exerted all their effort using resources to improve themselves. Since Chen Mo came looking for him, there was surely something important.
"Actually, it's nothing major. I'm here to apply for Second Transition resources."
Chen Mo finally stated his main purpose, but at these words, No. 56's hand trembled, and he almost dropped his teacup.
"You... reached the Second Transition?"
No. 56 looked at Chen Mo in disbelief.
"Yeah."
"Impressive!" No. 56 immediately downed the tea in his cup, then looked at Chen Mo with burning eyes.
Although he didn't feel anything unusual, Chen Mo knew that No. 56 was using his Administrator authority to check his true realm.
"Indeed, you've reached the Second Transition."
A few seconds later, No. 56 nodded and then laughed out loud. "Good lad, I knew I wasn't wrong about you. Alright, I'll send the application to Blue Cave right away."
With that, No. 56 prepared to leave, but before he could stand up, Chen Mo pressed him back onto the sofa.
"What? There's more?"
"There is indeed something else. Didn't Blue Cave give me 5 million Virtual Universe Points? I want to use those points to upgrade little Yu Mo."
Chen Mo reached behind him and pulled out a bewildered Yu Mo.
"Upgrade a Virtual Intelligence?"
No. 56 looked at Yu Mo and then at Chen Mo, his expression somewhat hesitant.
"Are you sure? Although an upgraded Virtual Intelligence will possess stronger computing power and wisdom..."
"...unless you're willing to spend hundreds of millions of points, it's impossible to raise her to the level of an Intelligent Life form."
"I know." Chen Mo nodded, then chuckled as he held Yu Mo up.
"My requirements aren't that high. 5 million is enough to upgrade her to an Intermediate Intelligence, and I remember Intermediate Intelligences can be taken into the Outer Domain."
"Yes, Intermediate Intelligences can indeed establish a temporary connection with the Virtual Universe in the Outer Domain, but it's not lasting. Why, are you going to the Outer Domain?"
No. 56 looked sharply at Chen Mo, clearly disapproving of this decision.
"Not my main body." Chen Mo immediately explained.
"That's good then." No. 56 finally relaxed.
The Outer Domain is not a good place for the vast majority of demigods. The number of transcendent demigods who die there every year could fill a small city.
Although Shinto Demigods are much safer because of the unique existence of the Divine Domain, Chen Mo's current realm is simply too low.
If any accident happens, he might not even have the chance to escape into his Divine Domain.
And even escaping into the Divine Domain doesn't mean absolute safety.
Some powerful alien civilizations have also mastered methods to connect with the Void Realm. If you dare to escape into the Divine Domain in front of them, the coordinates of your Divine Domain will almost certainly be exposed. At that point, it's just a matter of dying sooner or later.
"Alright, since you insist, I can help you. And with my authority, it should be a bit cheaper."
"Thanks!" Saying that, Chen Mo handed Yu Mo to No. 56. "Yu Mo, hurry and thank your Uncle Zhou."
"Thank you, Uncle Zhou."
Although little Yu Mo was only a low-level Virtual Intelligence, she also knew the benefits of an upgrade.
Although it was just the beginning, it was her first step from ordinary intelligence toward becoming an Intelligent Life form!"
"Ah!"
No. 56 smiled and then took Yu Mo.
"The Virtual Universe is powerful, but the allocation of computing power and the output of the Virtual Law Source are also limited."
"I'm only a Level 2 Administrator. Even adding my share for this month, I can only save you a third at most."
"How can I use your share?"
Chen Mo immediately shook his head.
"The reason why Administrators like No. 56 can exist in the Virtual Universe is, firstly, that most of them were deities of the Mechanical God System while alive, and secondly, the mysterious Virtual Laws of the Virtual Universe."
"With these laws, the virtual is no longer just virtual, and No. 56 is not just a bunch of dispensable data."
"In a sense, No. 56 himself is an Intelligent Life form."
"But as long as it is Life, it must rely on 'food' to survive."
"And the Virtual Origin of the Virtual Universe is the food for people like No. 56 to survive, and it's also the best choice for upgrading Virtual Intelligence."
"Don't worry, I'll definitely set aside the portion needed to maintain my existence. There's always extra every month anyway; it doesn't matter who I give it to."
No. 56 teased Yu Mo with his finger, making her giggle.
