14: Chapter 14 Absolute Combat Power Overwhelming

The sandbox simulation room was pin-drop silent, and it took Liu Cheng a long time to recover from the blow of being crushed.

He stared fixedly at the ten Immortal Martial Citizens on the right side of the sandbox, his eyes filled with unwillingness.

The battle just now had been lost too fast, so fast that it was hard for him to accept.

His side had eighty-six people; although the equipment was a bit worse and the training a bit loose, the numbers were right there.

In less than a minute, the formation was pierced, the front row was overturned, and the back row suffered a complete collapse.

Liu Cheng felt embarrassed, and even more, his chest felt stuffy.

Yesterday, he had awakened a Grade C Rock and Earth Talent, which was considered upper-middle in the class, and his family had even poured resources into him, yet today he was beaten into this miserable state by Wang Pingan's ten people.

The gazes cast by the surrounding classmates made him feel as if pins and needles were pricking his back.

Liu Cheng turned his head to look at the few students behind him, gritting his teeth as he proposed: "We didn't gather all our people just now, and our formation wasn't set up properly either. Let's do it again."

A male student showed hesitation: "Still want to come again?"

Liu Cheng refused to give up: "Come on, just now was only a demonstration, not a formal confrontation. If we gather more than a hundred people, we can wear his ten people down to exhaustion."

The other few students exchanged glances, equally unconvinced in their hearts.

They had just stood out to support comprehensive development; if they directly gave in now, they wouldn't be able to hold their heads high in class hereafter.

What was even more crucial was that their situation was similar to Liu Cheng's.

Their talent was passable, their family had given them resources, and they considered themselves a cut above ordinary students.

If they admitted today that they had chosen the wrong path, it would be equivalent to admitting that their early investments had gone down the drain.

This was no longer just a matter of Face.

This was a struggle over resource paths.

They were unwilling to switch to the logistics path at this moment, which meant they could only depend on others in the future.

The few students quickly stepped forward and connected their respective citizens' projections into the sandbox once again.

The light gates on the left side of the sandbox lit up one after another.

One after another, citizens who were half-farmer and half-soldier stepped out.

Some held wooden shields, some carried pickaxes, some held fish forks, and there were also a few wearing animal skin vests, holding freshly sharpened wooden spears.

The number quickly exceeded one hundred.

It finally stopped at one hundred and thirty-two people.

Old Li glanced over the ragtag army on the left, his Face as gloomy as water: "No matter how many people there are, the problem remains the same. Are you sure you want to fight?"

Liu Cheng braced himself and replied: "Teacher, quantity is equally critical in Divine Kingdom wars. No matter how strong the Combat Path is, it cannot ignore the gulf in numbers."

Old Li turned his head to look at Wang Pingan: "Make your own decision on whether to accept or not."

The gazes of the whole class converged on Wang Pingan all at once.

Zhao Yang sat in the back row, his hands tightly gripping the edge of the table.

Naturally, he believed in Wang Pingan's strength, but ten people against one hundred and thirty-two, and everyone had only awakened for a single day, sounded truly outrageous.

Wang Pingan did not hesitate at all: "Accept."

As soon as these words were spoken, the atmosphere in the simulation room instantly became tense as if on a hair trigger.

A flash of triumphant cunning swept across Liu Cheng's eyes.

He concluded that Wang Pingan was overly conceited.

Being able to win ten against eighty-six just now did not mean winning ten against one hundred and thirty-two would still be possible.

Once numbers were stacked, even if they just stood there and took a beating, they could drag it out for a long time.

Besides, this time they would scatter their formation and absolutely not bunch up together to throw away their lives in vain.

Old Li started the countdown for the formal confrontation.

Countdown numbers appeared above the sandbox.

Three.

Two.

One.

The battle commenced.

Liu Cheng commanded sharply: "Scatter, flank from left and right, don't all bunch up in the front!"

The projections of the one hundred and thirty-two citizens quickly dispersed, with shield-bearers in the front row pushing forward and wooden spear holders advancing from both flanks.

This response was indeed somewhat smarter than before.

Even though the formation was still crude, once the numerical advantage was spread out, a sense of oppressive momentum instantly arose on the left side of the sandbox.

Wang Pingan's ten citizens still had a firm footing.

Five Martial Dao Citizens lined up in the front row, two in the center, and three split between the left and right.

Five Cultivation Citizens retreated half a step, Spiritual Qi circulating in their palms, ready to provide support at any time.

Wang Pingan stared at the sandbox and issued an oracle.

"Front row withstands head-on, back row interrupts, weave through and rout them."

The ten citizens immediately followed orders.

A dozen enemy citizens on the left flank made the first move, attempting to tear open the formation with wooden spears.

One Martial Dao Citizen under Wang Pingan's command sidestepped to dodge, swept the wooden spear aside with his left arm, and drove his right fist straight into the opponent's chest.

That projected citizen fell to the ground in response, stumbling backward together with several people behind him.

Another Martial Dao Citizen took a large stride forward, fully displaying the might of the Savage Bull Body-Forging Fist, striking out with consecutive punches that forced the left-wing shield-bearing team to retreat step by step.

The Cultivation Citizens in the back row raised their hands to cast a Spell, and the Spiritual Qi impact accurately landed on the densest part of the enemy crowd.

Although the power of the Spell was not astonishing, it happened to disrupt the enemy's charge rhythm.

As soon as the enemy's footsteps fell into disorder, the front-row Martial Dao Citizens cut into the enemy formation like sharp blades.

Wang Pingan's ten-person squad began weaving back and forth within the hundred-person formation.

They did not blindly pursue, nor did they stand in place to fight to the death.

The Martial Dao Citizens were responsible for tearing apart the defense line, and the Cultivation Citizens were responsible for applying crowd control and interference.

Whenever the ragtag army on the left attempted to encircle them, the back-row Spells would always manage to preemptively cut off the offensive on one side.

Whenever anyone attempted to flank behind them, the Martial Dao Citizens on the flanks would turn around and intercept them with heavy punches.

Above the sandbox, the ten-person formation changed in a myriad of ways, yet it always gathered without scattering.

In contrast, on Liu Cheng's side, the more people there were, the more chaotic it became instead.

The front row was pushed back, the rear view was obstructed, the left and right wings squeezed against each other, and commands simply could not be conveyed to the entire army.

Some wanted to charge, some wanted to retreat, and even more were tripped to the ground by companions in front of them.

Old Li pointed at the sandbox and commented: "This is the bitter consequence of untrained citizens. In ordinary days they do all sorts of chores, and when they truly reach the battlefield, they can't even perform the most basic coordinated combat."

Quite a few people in the class showed fearful expressions.

The citizens in their Divine Kingdoms were probably much like this appearance.

Able to farm, able to cut wood, able to mine, and also able to pick up wooden spears to gesture a couple of times.

But if truly dragged onto the battlefield, the end would be like this mob of rabble in the sandbox.

Liu Cheng was burning with anxiety and roared repeatedly: "Don't panic, encircle them, surround and kill them!"

But the projected citizens would never be reborn just because of a shout from him.

The five Martial Dao Citizens under Wang Pingan's command had already pierced through the center lane.

They withstood the attacks of wooden spears and stone axes, braving forward with only a few shallow projection damages on their bodies, their movements completely unobstructed.

The gulf between Body Forging Level 1 and Mortals was visible to the naked eye.

The offensive of the half-farmer-half-soldier fell upon them without even being able to shake their critical defense line.

The five Cultivation Citizens pressed step by step, their Spiritual Qi impacts specifically targeting the shield-holders and commanders.

Once anyone attempted to reorganize the defense line, the Spells would ruthlessly rout them.

The combat situation within the sandbox rapidly evolved into a one-sided suppression.

The one hundred and thirty-two ragtag citizens were divided into several pieces, unable to look after the head and tail at once.

The ten Immortal Martial Citizens moved through the enemy array as if entering an uninhabited realm, with the front row enduring pressure and the back row casting Spells, maintaining a steady rhythm.

Zhao Yang watched with his eyes wide open: "Where are these ten citizens? They are clearly ten fierce gods descending to the world."

Not a single classmate by his side echoed.

They were all awed by the battle situation before their eyes.

In barely three minutes, the projection of the last citizen on the left side of the sandbox crashed to the ground with a boom.

The confrontation came to an end.

The light screen displayed the battle results.

[Wang Pingan wins.]

[Friendly casualties: Zero.]

[Enemy casualties: One hundred and thirty-two.]
