51: Chapter 51 Violent Demolition, Blood and Flesh Resisting the Law
The moment the wedge formation crashed into the mechanical position, all of Kyle's ranged advantages were torn to shreds.
At a distance of three miles, tank main guns could slowly calibrate, mobile artillery could calmly provide coverage, and combat mechs could pour out firepower round after round.
But now, Wang Pingan's Heavy Infantry had already charged right into their faces.
A Black Iron Shield slammed into the chest of the first combat mech. Blood-colored Qi burst along the shield's surface, causing the mech's chest armor to cave in instantly as it slid back several zhang.
Wang Shan flicked his Cavalry lance, sending a blocking mech flying into the air, then slashed horizontally with his crimson flame saber, severing half of its mechanical arm.
The mech's severed arm hit the ground, sparks of electricity flying everywhere.
Kyle's electronic eyes flickered rapidly, and a piercing alarm blared through the mechanical communication channel.
"Close-combat units press forward, tanks retreat, artillery re-lock onto the back row!"
The order was issued, but it was already too late.
The front-row tanks tried to reverse, but just as their treads began to turn, three Martial Dao Citizens had already charged to the side of the vehicles.
One raised a shield to take the machine-gun fire head-on, while the other two swung their blades at the tread connection axles.
A flash of white light from a crimson flame saber, and the treads snapped; the entire tank was paralyzed on the spot.
The turret tried to rotate, but another Martial Dao Citizen leaped onto the roof from behind, gripped the edge of the turret with both hands, and violently exploded with Qi and blood.
"Get down here!"
The turret emitted a harsh, distorted sound as he forcibly pried it up by half a foot.
Several Titan Star spectators nearby saw this scene and were filled with shock.
That was a composite-armor tank; even if it was just a beginner-stage configuration, it was not something that a flesh-and-blood body could casually tear apart.
Yet Wang Pingan's Martial Dao Citizens did exactly that.
And they did it very skillfully.
Wang Shan had already charged into the most densely packed area of the tank group.
He vaulted off his horse, his feet shattering the metal ground, and he launched himself into the air. The high-tier enchanted crimson flame saber in his hand carried a blood-colored blade aura compressed to its limit.
An armed tank's muzzle turned right toward him.
The muzzle lit up with blue light.
Wang Shan did not dodge.
While in mid-air, he gripped his blade with both hands and slashed down toward the muzzle.
"Open!"
As the blade fell, the tank's barrel split down the middle, a deep gash was cut into the composite armor, and then the entire tank was cleaved in two, from the turret to the chassis.
The internal energy core lost control and exploded with a boom.
Firelight engulfed Wang Shan's figure.
The next moment, Wang Shan charged out of the flames, his heavy armor charred, his fighting spirit even higher.
He raised a hand to wipe the ash off his face and pointed his crimson flame saber directly at the mechanical position: "These iron hunks, they only sound scary!"
With this slash, Wang Shan raised the morale of the Immortal Martial Legion to its peak.
Five hundred Martial Heavy Armor roared in unison; the shield wall was no longer just for defense, but had become a battering ram.
They withstood the energy guns of the mechs and pressed forward, stepping over craters.
When they got close to tanks, they chopped the treads; when they got close to mechs, they slashed the joints; and when they encountered mobile artillery, they first struck the supports before smashing the core.
Wang Pingan stood on the high ground in the rear, watching the entire battlefield with a calm gaze.
The greatest strength of mechanical civilization is distance.
As long as they keep their distance, firepower coverage can blast a flesh-and-blood legion into fragments.
But once they are engaged at close quarters, tanks cannot turn their muzzles, artillery cannot adjust their angles, and mech arrays block each other's lines of fire; the so-called steel torrent becomes just a pile of crowded iron shells.
This was the result Wang Pingan wanted.
Wang Pingan raised his hand and issued a divine decree.
"Wang Shan, keep dismantling."
As the divine decree fell, Wang Shan grinned and pointed his crimson flame saber forward.
"Brothers, the Divine Lord has commanded us to dismantle everything!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the livestream chat barrage rolled like a waterfall.
[Dismantle everything? Is this a playoff match or a demolition crew arriving?]
[Titan Star's tanks must be crying, they are really crying!]
[Flesh defying the law, dismantling artillery at point-blank range, this is too ruthless!]
The scenes on the battlefield were even more brutal.
A combat mech raised its arms, its shoulder-mounted rapid-fire cannons firing continuously; blue beams struck the Black Iron Shield, sending sparks flying everywhere.
Two Martial Dao Citizens pressed forward with shields, while a third rushed out from behind the shield, slashing the mech's knee joint horizontally with a crimson flame saber.
The mech's right leg snapped instantly.
Before it could fall, another Martial Dao Citizen had already grabbed its mechanical head, channeled Qi and blood into their arms, and forcibly ripped the head off.
Electric currents sprayed, and that mech turned into scrap metal.
On the other side, three tanks retreated side-by-side, attempting to create distance.
Wang Shan led twenty elites in pursuit; the heavy Cavalry crashed into the escort mechs from the flank, and the infantry threw themselves directly onto the tanks.
Some chopped off the barrels, some tore open observation ports, and some used Black Iron Shields to smash the external energy conduits.
The most ruthless Martial Dao Citizen gripped the tank treads with both hands, exploded with Qi and blood beneath their feet, and actually ripped the entire tread off.
The tank body tilted over, the turret slammed into the ground, and it turned into a pile of scrap metal.
Kyle watched, his electronic eyes flickering frequently.
His mechanical legion did not fear death, did not fear pain, and would not feel fear, but mechanical creations required structural integrity, needed signal transmission, and needed energy cores to operate stably.
Wang Pingan's Martial Dao Citizens didn't argue theory with him.
They only dismantled critical components.
Treads broken, the tank couldn't move.
Turret crooked, the muzzle couldn't aim.
Joints shattered, the mech couldn't stand steady.
Energy conduits slashed open, mobile artillery shut down on the spot.
This battle, from the moment it came to close quarters, was no longer a conventional confrontation.
This was violent demolition.
Wang Mu was not idle either.
Five hundred Cultivation Citizens in the rear were divided into ten groups, their compressed fire beams focusing specifically on the connection nodes of the mechanical legion.
Wherever artillery attempted to re-set up, white flying swords would slice over.
Wherever tanks gathered to counterattack, compressed fireballs would fall, scattering the convoy.
Kyle tried to use the mech escort squad to block Wang Shan.
Three hundred close-combat mechs pressed out from the center line, high-frequency cutting blades popping out from their arms, wanting to use mechanical close-combat capabilities to push back.
Wang Shan charged straight to meet them.
He didn't let the Cavalry charge; he just took one hundred Peak-stage Martial Dao Citizens to crash into them head-on.
The high-frequency cutting blades struck the Black Iron Shields, leaving white marks on the shield surfaces, but failing to cut through.
Wang Shan slashed and severed the cutting arm of the first mech, then slammed his left fist into the mech's chest.
Blood-colored Qi surged, the mech's chest cavity caved in, and the internal core began emitting black smoke.
The Martial Dao Citizens behind followed up, in groups of three, focusing on slashing joints and smashing cores.
The three hundred close-combat mechs lasted less than a quarter of an hour before being dismantled into pieces.
Kyle finally realized that he had no room left for a comeback.
His pride-and-joy firepower line had been scattered, the mech escort squad had been broken through, the tank group had been torn open, and the mobile artillery was being suppressed by Wang Mu's flying swords and the Artillery Battalion, unable to reform their formation.
Wang Pingan's legion was still pushing forward.
For every ten zhang they advanced, a swath of mechanical creations was scrapped.
Everywhere on the battlefield were broken barrels, shattered armor, overturned turrets, and mechanical wreckage emitting blue electric sparks.
Kyle stood in front of the Divine Core Projection, his right-arm particle cannon aimed at the distant Wang Pingan.
His voice stuttered noticeably for the first time.
"Flesh-and-blood civilization... should not have this level of close-combat strength."
Wang Pingan looked at him without answering.
There was no need to answer.
The battlefield had already answered.
Red light flashed in Kyle's electronic eyes, and he suddenly raised his left hand, pressing it against the core location on his chest.
A circle of dangerous blue light spread out from his chest.
"Since victory is impossible, then I will execute the final protocol."
Kyle's voice spread across the battlefield.
"Core self-destruct, clearing everything within a radius of five hundred zhang."
The Titan Star spectator area was silent.
This was not a real-world death, but in a Divine Kingdom projection battle, a core self-destruct was enough to severely damage a large number of the opponent's citizens.
Kyle wanted to use his final strike before elimination to blow up Wang Pingan's main legion.
The livestream chat was in chaos.
[He's going to self-destruct!]
[Five hundred zhang radius, all of Wang Pingan's vanguard are inside it!]
[Retreat quickly! If you don't retreat now, it'll be too late!]
Wang Shan also saw the blue light on Kyle's chest; just as he was about to rush over, Wang Mu's voice reached him.
"Don't be hasty, the circuit hasn't closed yet."
Ten Cultivation elites acted simultaneously.
Under Wang Mu's command, they had long since locked onto the energy conduction lines around Kyle.
White flying swords streaked across the sky above the battlefield, not cutting at Kyle himself, but slicing toward the three blue lines behind him that connected to the Divine Core Projection.
The first sword cut off the external energy feedback.
The second sword cut off the core detonation array.
The third sword cut off the backup transmission node.
The surging blue light on Kyle's chest suddenly dimmed.
The red light in his electronic eyes suddenly froze.
"Impossible!"
Wang Mu stood in the distance, his expression calm.
"No matter how tough a mechanical creation is, the circuits must still connect."
The next moment, Wang Shan had already charged in front of Kyle.
He did not use his blade.
The crimson flame saber was sheathed, his right fist clenched, blood-colored Qi compressed layer by layer, and his entire arm emitted a roaring sound of bones.
Kyle raised his right-arm particle cannon; the muzzle had just lit up when it was grabbed by Wang Shan's left hand and forcibly bent aside.
The particle beam shot out along the ground, blasting out a long trench.
Wang Shan threw his right fist out.
This punch slammed into the Divine Core Projection behind Kyle.
The gray Divine Core Projection vibrated violently, and cracks quickly spread across its surface.
Wang Shan stepped forward again and threw a second punch.
"Shatter!"
The Divine Core Projection shattered on the spot, turning into light spots filling the sky.
Kyle's mechanical body stopped in place, the blue light in his electronic eyes dimming bit by bit.
A system notification simultaneously appeared over the battlefield.
[Wang Pingan wins.]
[Kyle Titan Star, eliminated.]
The entire steel plain went quiet.
Three thousand Xianwu Citizens stood amidst the mechanical wreckage, their heavy armor stained with smoke, Black Iron Shields still held upright, the fiery glow of the crimson flame sabers not yet dissipated.
Wang Shan stood before the shattered Divine Core Projection, raising his fist, with the ground behind him covered in dismantled tanks and mechs.
At this moment, the Seventeen Stars livestream chat was in an uproar across the board.
The scene of flesh-and-blood bodies crushing a torrent of steel spread throughout the Seventeen Stars.
