58: Chapter 58 Hidden Dragon and Rising Dragon

Nanyun City.

Courtyard 23.

In the meditation room.

Jiang Miaoyi sat cross-legged on a meditation cushion.

An Inner Sect Disciple jade token floated before her.

A faint halo shimmered on the surface of the jade token.

With undivided attention, Jiang Miaoyi immersed her Divine Sense into it.

The familiar voice of Senior Brother Luo Feng echoed in her Sea of Consciousness. Unlike his usual composed self, his voice now carried distinct excitement and urgency.

"Junior Sister, listen to me. The Sect has established the 'Ascending Dragon' and 'Hidden Dragon' rankings, aimed at all True Disciple members."

"As long as you can secure a spot on the rankings, every six months—yes, every six months!—you will receive a fixed reward of treasure-grade resources! This is simply... an unprecedented bestowal!"

Jiang Miaoyi's heart skipped a beat.

Once every six months?

Even for Yellow-Grade treasure resources, their value was enough to make Golden Core Stage Cultivators fight tooth and nail.

When had the Sect ever been this "generous"?

Luo Feng seemed to take a deep breath, continuing, his words striking Jiang Miaoyi's heart like thunderbolts.

"Furthermore, Junior Sister, according to my thorough inquiries, the rewards for these rankings... are no ordinary treasures."

"Those who reach the top three of the Ascending Dragon and hidden dragon rankings can obtain, at the very least... Earth-Grade treasure resources!"

"What?!"

Jiang Miaoyi exclaimed, though fortunately, the meditation room was soundproofed, so her voice did not carry outside.

Her eyes widened abruptly. Her usually calm and composed face was filled with disbelief, and her red lips parted slightly, as she almost thought she had misheard.

"Earth-Grade treasure resources? Senior Brother, are you certain? Those are treasures that even many Nascent Soul Stage Elders must accumulate years of contribution points or perform great deeds to have even a slim chance of exchanging for! How could the Sect..."

"It is absolutely true!"

Luo Feng's tone was categorical. "The source of the information is very reliable. Moreover, I have vaguely heard rumors about a few items that might appear on the reward list..."

He paused, seemingly deliberating, and then enunciated a few names that could stir up a bloodbath in the Southern Wasteland cultivation world:

"Heavenly Immortal Brew, Heavenly Spirit Flower, Heavenly Heart Fruit..."

With each name he uttered, Jiang Miaoyi felt as if her heart had been struck by a heavy hammer.

The Heavenly Immortal Brew was rumored to be able to cleanse the Golden Core and improve the quality of the Nascent Soul when shattering the Core to form the Soul.

The Heavenly Spirit Flower was a Saint Grade item that nourished and strengthened the Divine Soul, having miraculous effects in resisting Heart Demons.

The Heavenly Heart Fruit was even more incredible; it was said to allow one to approach the state of "Heaven and Man in Resonance" for a short time, providing immeasurable assistance in breaking through the Nascent Soul Stage Bottleneck...

These were all Heaven-Grade treasure resources that only existed in legends or were recorded in the Sect's highest-level secret texts!

Ordinary Disciples might not even have heard their names.

And now, they were to be distributed as periodic rewards to True Disciple members?

"This... how is this possible?!" Jiang Miaoyi muttered to herself, feeling her throat go dry.

She was not someone without experience; as an Inner Sect Disciple of the main peak, Duobao Peak, she knew the Sect had a profound foundation.

But to bring out resources of this level as "rewards," and for True Disciple members at the Foundation Establishment Stage and Golden Core Stage at that...

This already exceeded the scope of "valuing" them; it was almost a "forced ripening" regardless of the cost!

The treasury of Duobao Pavilion was indeed all-encompassing. With sufficient contribution and authority, one had no worries about resources from Qi Refining to Golden Core.

But the Nascent Soul was a chasm. While items like Core Formation Pills could increase the probability of forming a Nascent Soul, the most dangerous Heart Demon tribulation could only be withstood by the Cultivator's own Dao Heart.

And Heaven-Grade treasure resources were precisely those Heaven-Defying items that could directly intervene in the Heart Demon tribulation!

They were the Sect's strategic reserves, the core of the core, and usually only Heaven-Grade True Disciples, peak masters, and core Elders with distinguished achievements were qualified to access them.

And now, the Sect was going to take these "bottom-of-the-box" items and use them to motivate True Disciples who had yet to mature?

It was inconceivable!

If not for the fact that the message came from a Senior Brother she trusted implicitly, Jiang Miaoyi would absolutely have thought this was nonsense from Monk Wuji.

"Junior Sister, I know you find it hard to believe."

Luo Feng's voice carried understanding but also revealed seriousness. "At first, I also thought it was a rumor. But this matter is no longer a secret among the various peaks; it is just that the details have not yet been fully announced."

"In at most a month, all True Disciple identity jade tokens will be updated, and everything will be clear then."

"If you are worried, you can ask True Disciple Chu, whom you are responsible for, once that happens. His new jade token will naturally contain the detailed regulations."

Mentioning Chu Feng, Luo Feng's tone became serious. "Junior Sister, it is precisely because of this that I must remind you."

"You have a cold personality, dislike socializing, and often keep things to yourself without seeking recognition. This is usually a virtue, but in the face of such a major change, perhaps you need to make some adjustments."

Jiang Miaoyi frowned slightly. For some reason, images of Chu Feng during Dual Cultivation with his Dao Companion suddenly flashed before her eyes.

Her ears turned hot for no reason, and her tone involuntarily carried a trace of bashful annoyance. "Senior Brother! What do you mean by that?"

Luo Feng did not seem to notice the change in her tone, or perhaps his mind was completely occupied by the major Sect events, so he explained directly: "I mean, that True Disciple Chu, although his talent and potential in the Dao of Talismans cannot compare to that Dao of Talismans Prodigy newly accepted by the Master of Fubao Peak."

"But during the True Disciple assessment, he performed extremely well."

"You have rich experience in fighting, and your practical combat ability is outstanding among the Golden Core Stage. Guiding a Foundation Establishment Stage Chu Feng should be effortless."

"In your daily interactions, besides urging him to comprehend the 'Heavenly Talisman Scripture', you might as well communicate more with him regarding Dao techniques and practical combat to enhance your camaraderie."

"This can not only help him quickly improve his strength to better cope with the coming assessment, but also make him remember your guidance."

"If one day Chu Feng can truly rank at the forefront of the hidden dragon ranking, even if he only obtains Mysterious-Grade treasure resources, the benefits and influence it brings will be significant."

"This is a win-win situation for both you and him."

Hearing this, Jiang Miaoyi felt slightly relieved; so that was what her Senior Brother meant.

But then a new doubt arose. "Senior Brother, the Sect's assessment of technical geniuses has always focused on the progress and depth of understanding of various scriptures."

"Listening to what you just said, this ranking competition seems to focus more on fighting and killing??"

Luo Feng's voice carried some uncertainty. "The specific assessment details will likely only be clear after the jade tokens are updated."

"But the rumors I've heard suggest it is by no means as simple as just assessing scripture comprehension; practical combat ability, adaptability, and even... it may involve some special trial scenarios."

"In any case, it is better to be prepared."

"I am telling you this in advance so that you understand that once the new system is officially launched, the eyes of all the peaks in the Sect will be fixed on the Ascending Dragon and hidden dragon rankings."

"True Disciples are already highly regarded, and with this unprecedented influx of resources, this attention will be magnified tenfold or hundredfold! Every move might concern future resource allocation and the Sect's level of attention."

"Junior Sister, the Opportunity has arrived; I hope you seize it carefully."
