28: Chapter 28 Blood Spirit Aura and Necromantic Aura
Start, sprint! An instantaneous burst of speed, reaching over ten meters per second. With a swift swing of the blade, several wild boars fell silent.
He wiped the blood from the blade and sheathed it.
Deep inside the lair, the Incarnation collected all the job-change stones surrounding the Boar King. After searching carefully for a while and finding nothing else of value, he immediately rushed out of the lair.
However, the howling of those few wild boars had drawn some of the boars that had previously gone out back to the area.
These boars returning individually were no match for the Incarnation in a one-on-one fight. The first to return was an adult wild boar. Upon seeing the Incarnation emerge from their lair, its eyes turned red and bloodshot. It pawed the ground forcefully with its front hooves and charged furiously at the Incarnation.
Facing this reckless charge, he simply sidestepped, simultaneously drawing his blade and stabbing it through the eye, piercing it instantly.
In fact, with the Incarnation's current abilities, a single burst of strength could reach over a thousand kilograms; close-quarters combat actually allowed him to unleash his terrifying power.
"Pulling out the blade."
Immediately, a large amount of blood gushed from the boar's wound, accompanied by the boar's painful, miserable howling.
"Thud," it fell to the ground.
Seeing that this boar was heavily wounded and beyond saving, he continued running outward. Along the way, he encountered several more wild boars, none of which were a match for him. Even the nearly adult boars were kicked away by Wang An, unable to get up from the ground for a long time.
Gradually, the scent of blood permeated the mountain forest, and death lingered here. Within the Incarnation's field of vision, it seemed as if something was about to be born. Across the entire Four Corners Plateau, clear qi was constantly gathering from all directions, lingering in this depression.
However, judging by the speed, it would take several more hours, so he didn't pay it any mind for now and began searching for targets in the surrounding area.
Two hours later, he had only found two job-change stones that had already been used. It seemed that the job-change stones in the vicinity had all been collected by this group of wild boars, so the Incarnation stopped searching and returned to wait beside the wild boar lair.
The wild boars that had gone out had all returned, but faced with the corpses of their slaughtered kin, they could only rage helplessly, emitting low, angry, painful, and fearful growls within the lair.
The boar pack dragged the other kin killed by the Incarnation back into the lair, causing the inside of the lair to be flooded with the blood of these wild boars.
Under Wang An's Qi Observation talent, he saw red substances within the blood gradually condensing. The clear qi from the outside world combined with these substances. After several dozen minutes, a wisp of blood-red qi emerged. It seemed that this group of wild boars was also affected; the blood throughout their bodies began to boil, their eyes became bloodshot, and they became manic and irritable.
Seeing the birth of the qi, the Incarnation immediately used the [Qi Gathering] skill to harvest this wisp of Blood Spirit Qi into his body.
The blood flowing on the ground quickly coagulated and turned black, and the scent of blood gradually dissipated.
After this wisp of Blood Spirit Qi was taken into his body, the state of the wild boars gradually returned to normal. They became somewhat bewildered and inexplicably fearful, not knowing what had happened previously.
Just as the Incarnation was preparing to return to the camp, a different kind of aura combined with the clear qi, birthing from the dead corpses. It was a cold, black qi.
After this qi was born from the dozen or so corpses, the remaining dozen or so wild boars, for some reason, developed a disgust and fear toward the corpses. As if a sense of impending doom washed over them, they fled from the lair one after another.
Watching this qi, the Incarnation suppressed his feelings of disgust and used the [Qi Gathering] skill to harvest this wisp of Death Spirit Qi into his body.
Of these two wisps of qi, the Blood Spirit Qi floated like a drop of blood in the lake of essence qi, while the Death Spirit Qi was driven by other qi to the bottom of the essence qi lake, like a patch of sludge.
He carefully observed and recorded the terrain and changes here: why this place could gather the region's clear qi, and how the clear qi combined with living things to birth other types of qi, just as the azure yang qi had done before.
Carrying his questions and harvest, the Incarnation followed the previously agreed-upon rendezvous direction and found the others.
When everyone saw him waiting for them, covered in blood, they hurriedly asked if he was injured.
"I am not injured; this is all wild boar blood. Have you encountered any wild boar packs?"
Upon learning he was uninjured, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. After all, the captain was their greatest source of martial support; without the protection of this Exploration Team captain, it would be difficult for them to leave this forest.
However, they were also somewhat puzzled. How could hunting wild boars with bows and arrows result in such a heavy scent of blood?
Indeed, no one would have imagined that someone could rely on close-quarters combat to kill wild boars one after another.
The Incarnation addressed some of the questions they were concerned about: the Boar King was confirmed dead, and he had also killed seven or eight wild boars.
Everyone hurried to get some rest early so they could set off early tomorrow and get far away from this place, preventing those wild boars from coming to their senses and seeking revenge.
Hearing that the Boar King was dead, everyone's tense hearts slowly relaxed. As for the captain killing seven or eight wild boars by himself, beyond being a bit surprised, they also felt it was a matter of course.
From the fact that they previously didn't know how the captain was able to pierce the Boar King's defenses and attack its brain, they knew that this captain must have some extraordinary methods.
However, what everyone cared about was their own safety. As for what the method was? As long as it could protect them, any method would do. They weren't stupid; they knew that to heavily injure such a monster required terrifying attack power, which might involve restricted weapons, so they tacitly avoided asking what the captain used.
At night, everyone set up tents on the mountaintop to rest.
On the fifth day, before dawn, the Incarnation woke everyone up and said to them: "I killed the Boar King and some wild boars yesterday. I cannot guarantee that they won't go mad and come for revenge because of this, so pack up your things quickly. Let's take advantage of the fact that it isn't light yet to move forward a distance."
Sure enough, shortly after they set off, that pack of wild boars chased after them.
He said to everyone: "Those without ranged weapons, go to the front and clear the path. Those with weapons, come over and concentrate your attacks."
The Incarnation and the four coaches formed a dense web of firepower, pouring arrows at the seven or eight underage wild boars that were being driven toward them. The Incarnation's Precision was the highest; basically, for these underage ones, it was one arrow, one precise headshot.
As for the other coaches, their arrowheads were not specially customized armor-piercing heads, so Wang An instructed them to aim for the various joints of these wild boars to hinder their movements.
In just two or three seconds, two wild boars fell, and several others were heavily injured by the coaches' concentrated fire.
Immediately, these wild boars were frightened by this terrifying firepower. Previously, it had always been the Boar King and the adult wild boars taking the damage; they hadn't expected it to be so terrifying. They all emitted low growls, not daring to come forward.
Everyone took advantage of this time to continue moving forward. The wild boar pack calmed down for a while, then began charging again, led by the adult wild boars.
However, even though they had anticipated the increase in mutated animals and had specially brought extra arrows this time, they had already used more than half of them.
If they allowed this pack of wild boars to test and consume their arrows, they would soon lose the ability to fight back.
