22: Back to the shop

Unexpectedly, at that moment, Xu Le, with quick eyes and hands, grabbed the bone his brother had finished gnawing and placed on the table, then imitated his brother and started gnawing on it.

Tasting a flavor he had never experienced since birth, Xu Le's eyes widened.

"Oh dear," Xu Bai took the bone from Xu Le's hand, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

He put the bone back on the table, pushed it a little further away, and then used a wet wipe to clean Xu Le's fingers one by one.

Immediately after, he took out a small biscuit from the small bag and put it into Xu Le's hand.

"You can't eat this yet. You can eat it when you grow up. Here, have this instead."

With the bone in his hand replaced by a biscuit, the little foodie Xu Le didn't mind and continued to eat happily.

This little interlude didn't affect their appetite, and they continued to enjoy the delicious food in front of them.

Soon, the food in front of them was finished. However, everyone, by chance, did not get up immediately.

Because they were really too full. The portions were just right at first, but everyone had added two or three bowls of rice, and their stomachs were already as swollen as a ball. Everyone was afraid that the food would come out if they got up. They needed to sit for a while to digest.

"Brother Xu, when do we start studying?"

Zhao Zixuan was an restless person, his voice carrying a hint of eagerness, his gaze falling on Brother Xu.

Xu Bai didn't answer directly; instead, he asked, "Can you make Magnifying Glass cardss now?"

Hearing Xu Bai's question, the three of them froze.

Fang Mu scratched his head and replied sheepishly, "Not yet."

"If not, then I'll teach you how to make a Magnifying Glass first. Once you understand this, making a Telescope will be simple. How many professional classes do you have this afternoon?"

"We have two professional classes this afternoon, the first and second periods. We'll come find you after they're over."

"Alright."

After bidding farewell to the three, Xu Bai returned to his small shop.

He saw some money neatly arranged on the shop's counter, with a cards pressing it down.

Such a scene was very common in small towns. In the noodle shops on the street, there were often signs that said "Purchase and Take Your Own." The old shop owner would prepare the noodles every morning, pack them into 5-yuan portions, and then go home to lie down. If it weren't for some cardss being quite valuable, Xu Bai would have done the same.

When Xu Bai took Xu Le out, he hadn't closed the shop door, leaving only Fugui to watch the shop.

"Fugui, you've worked hard. Look what I brought you." Xu Bai, with a smile on his face, placed the bones from the braised pork he had just packed into Fugui's dog bowl.

Although the meat had already been eaten, the savory sauce flavor had permeated the bones.

Fugui had long been wagging his tail, lured by the rich meaty aroma. The tip of his fluffy tail swept across the floor with a "swish-swish" sound, his dark, bright eyes fixed on Xu Bai's movements, his ears perked high.

As soon as the bones fell into the bowl, he immediately went over, his front paws unconsciously pawing at the rim of the bowl, eagerly burying his head.

"Crunch, crunch" Fugui gnawed with great concentration, occasionally letting out satisfied low barks, very pleased with the snack his 'poop-scooper' had brought him.

Xu Bai and Xu Le watched Fugui gnawing on the bones, and smiles of happiness also appeared on their faces.

The summer sunlight pierced through the dense leaves, forming dappled shadows.

"Alright, Lele, let's take a nap." Xu Bai let Xu Le lie in his arms and gently patted him to coax him to sleep.
