25: Chapter 25: How strong are the immune systems of the nurses in your yellow zone?

Head Nurse Fang Ying subconsciously glanced at Zhao Yaqin.

Zhao Yaqin's expression was calm, but the corners of her mouth curled up slightly.

She had already witnessed Lu Chen's Suturing.

The descriptions in the surgical reports were shocking enough, but seeing it with her own eyes was different.

A four-centimeter wound, stitched with a total of seven stitches.

It took less than four minutes.

After securing the final stitch, Lu Chen cleaned the wound and applied a sterile dressing.

"All done, sir."

The middle-aged man raised his hand to touch his forehead, but Lu Chen stopped him.

"Don't touch it. It was just Sutured. Keep it dry. Come back in three days for a dressing change, and we'll remove the stitches in a week."

"That's it? So fast?"

"Yeah, the wound wasn't big, and the Suturing went very smoothly."

The man's wife kept thanking him from the side.

"Thank you, Doctor! Thank you, Doctor!"

"It's nothing. Also, he needs a tetanus shot. Sister Fang, please help arrange that for him."

"Okay."

Head Nurse Fang Ying acknowledged and took the man to get the shot.

Before leaving, she couldn't help but look back at Lu Chen one more time.

Then, she trotted to the Nurse Station and found two other young Nurses on duty.

"Do you know what level of Suturing that new doctor has?"

The two young Nurses looked confused.

"What's wrong, Sister Fang?"

"It's ridiculously good-looking."

"What's good-looking? The person, or the Suturing?"

Head Nurse Fang Ying paused.

"Both."

The two young Nurses exchanged glances, then simultaneously poked their heads out of the Nurse Station and looked in Lu Chen's direction.

Lu Chen was washing his hands, standing sideways, with the sleeves of his white coat rolled up to his mid-forearms.

The two young Nurses watched for three seconds.

Then they pulled their heads back simultaneously.

One lowered her head, blushing.

The other picked up her water cup, pretending to drink to hide her racing heart.

Head Nurse Fang Ying let out a deep sigh as she watched their reaction.

When Zhao Yaqin walked over, she happened to see this scene.

Her expression became complicated for a moment.

"Head Nurse Fang Ying."

"Teacher Zhao."

"Are the Nurses in your Yellow Zone resistant enough?"

Head Nurse Fang Ying was stunned.

"What resistance?"

Zhao Yaqin didn't answer; she just turned and walked away.

Head Nurse Fang Ying looked at her back, completely confused.

What resistance?

Two minutes later, she understood.

Because those two young Nurses were already arguing about who would go deliver water to Dr. Lu.

Head Nurse Fang Ying closed her eyes.

She felt that the answer to the question Teacher Zhao asked was no. Very much no.

...

After Lu Chen finished dealing with the first patient, the system popped up a notification.

[Suturing Experience + 15]

15 points.

It was a bit more than those small wounds in the Green Zone, but not much.

After all, the Debridement and Suturing of a forehead laceration wasn't very difficult.

However, Lu Chen wasn't in a rush.

The day had just begun.

The heavy rain was still falling.

The sound of rain outside hadn't stopped; it was even heavier than in the morning.

8:40 AM.

Another patient arrived.

This time it was a young girl, in her early twenties, with her left palm wrapped in gauze, soaked with blood.

"Doctor, my hand was cut by glass."

"How did it happen?"

"When I opened the window this morning, the wind was too strong, and the window shattered directly, shards of glass stabbing into my palm."

Lu Chen activated the "Eye of Truth" and scanned her.

[Eye of Truth scan complete]

[Patient Information: Female, 22 years old]

[Chief Complaint: Right palm cut by glass shards about 1 hour ago]

[Eye of Truth Diagnosis: Deep cut on the right palm, about 3cm long, reaching the dermis layer, superficial palmar arch not damaged, tendons and nerves not injured]

[Danger Level: Low]

[Current Symptoms: Active bleeding, two tiny glass shards remaining in the wound]

[Suggestion: Remove foreign objects, Debridement and Suturing]

[Warning: There are two tiny glass shards in the wound, difficult to detect with the naked eye, careful Debridement required]

Two shards.

If it weren't for the "Eye of Truth," an ordinary doctor would easily miss such tiny glass shards when treating this kind of wound.

If missed, it would be troublesome; foreign objects remaining in the wound would cause infection and rejection reactions.

"Young lady, there are two small shards inside the wound. I'll help you remove them before Suturing."

"Ah? There are still shards inside?"

The girl's face turned pale.

"Don't be nervous. The shards are very small. I will remove them carefully. Let's administer anesthesia first."

After Lu Chen performed local anesthesia, he carefully probed the wound with hemostatic forceps.

The first shard was hidden deep in the incision, only about two millimeters, and Lu Chen, relying on the system's precise positioning, steadily clamped it out.

The second one was even smaller, less than one millimeter, embedded in the soft tissue at the edge of the wound.

Lu Chen used tweezers to precisely clamp it and gently pulled it out.

The two shards were placed in the kidney dish, shimmering under the light.

"All right, the shards are removed."

The girl let out a sigh of relief.

"Doctor, how did you know there were shards inside? You said there were two before you even checked."

"Experience."

Lu Chen replied casually, then began Suturing.

Another set of perfect-grade Suturing.

Done in three minutes.

The girl looked at the neat Suturing line on her palm and was stunned for a long while.

"Doctor, you Sutured this so well; it feels neater than my mom sewing clothes."

"Thank you for the compliment."

"What is your name, Doctor?"

"Lu Chen."

"Dr. Lu, are you the youngest doctor in this Hospital?"

Lu Chen didn't answer; he took off his surgical gloves and threw them into the trash can.

"Come back in three days for a dressing change, and remove the stitches in a week. Don't let your hand touch water these few days."

"Okay, okay, thank you, Dr. Lu!"

The girl looked back every few steps as she left, almost bumping into the door frame.

Head Nurse Fang Ying watched from the side, her mouth twitching.

Another one has fallen.

9:00.

10:00.

11:00.

In the Emergency Department on a stormy day, there were indeed many more patients than usual.

The Yellow Zone received several trauma patients one after another.

There were those who fell off electric scooters, with large areas of abrasions on their knees and arms.

There was someone hit on the shoulder by an advertising billboard blown down by the wind; fortunately, there was no fracture, just a soft tissue contusion.

There was also an elderly man who slipped on a manhole cover in the stagnant water, hitting the back of his head; he had already started vomiting when he arrived.

Lu Chen activated the "Eye of Truth" for him, confirming there was no intracranial hemorrhage, just a mild concussion.

Observation, monitoring vital signs, and intravenous rehydration.

The difficulty of these cases was indeed a level higher compared to the Green Zone.

The growth of experience points was also visibly accelerating.

[Suturing Experience + 15]

[Basic Surgical Operations Experience + 20]

[Internal Medicine Diagnostics Experience + 8]

[Internal Medicine Diagnostics Experience + 12]

Although each case didn't give a huge amount, the quantity made up for it.

On a stormy day, there are many accidents and many patients, so there is much experience.

Lu Chen's progress in Internal Medicine Diagnostics had already pushed from 12% to 15%.

12:30 PM.

Teacher Zhao told Lu Chen to go eat.

"You go first. I'll keep watch. Come back and relieve me after you're done."

"Okay, Teacher Zhao."

Lu Chen went to the Cafeteria, quickly ate a bowl of rice, and came back fifteen minutes later.

Teacher Zhao glanced at him.

"Eating so fast?"

"There are many patients today; I don't want to waste time."

"Alright then, I'm going to eat. You keep watch."

After Teacher Zhao left, Lu Chen sat alone at the Yellow Zone duty desk.

Head Nurse Fang Ying walked over holding a cup of hot tea.

"Dr. Lu, have some tea."

"Thank you, Sister Fang."

"You're welcome. Today is your first day in the Yellow Zone, and your performance is good. Those wounds were Sutured really beautifully; in my dozen years as a Nurse, this is the first time I've seen this level."

"Sister Fang, you flatter me."

"I'm not flattering you; I'm telling the truth."

Head Nurse Fang Ying put down the teacup, hesitated for a moment, and said one more thing.

"By the way, could you give our Nurses a demonstration of your Suturing technique? The young Nurses in our department are quite interested."

"Interested? Interested in Suturing?"

"Uh, yes, Suturing, technique, you know, learning."

When Head Nurse Fang Ying said this, her eyes were drifting.

Lu Chen glanced at her but didn't expose her.

"There will be opportunities in the future."

"Good, good, good."
