Inspecting the rapidly approaching mountain gnoll charging towards her on top of large wolves, Scaly could not help feeling a bit bewildered as she had never seen something like that before. Never having expected that the mountain gnolls would actually have the ability to tame other monsters, let alone have the ability to ride on top of them to increase their own strength.

So, having already finished up the body of the mountain dwelling troll, Scaly didn’t waste any time as she began escaping from the scene before the mountain gnolls spotted her and decided to target her.

After all, the number of mountain gnolls present at the moment easily numbered in the dozens, possibly even close to a hundred of them, with the weakest of them being at least level 40.

Although confident in her own strength, she understood very well that she wouldn’t stand a chance against so many mountain gnolls.

As the mountain gnolls began communicating with each other about something in their own strange growling language, Scaly watched nervously as the mountain gnolls began to split up into groups of ten to search through the surrounding mountainous terrain. Undoubtedly in search of the one behind the death and consumption of the mountain dwelling trolls, or, in other words, her.

Even worse, three of the groups just so happened to be heading towards the place where she was currently hiding with a few other monsters that had similarly escaped following the arrival of the mountain gnolls.

Also seeing that the mountain gnolls were moving towards them, these monsters grew similarly nervous and began to show signs of escaping at any moment.

However, these monsters weren’t dumb enough to be the first that tried to escape. Understanding that the one to do so would end up as the main target of these mountain gnolls.

Luckily, she had at least managed to get far enough away from the mountain gnolls that she wasn’t among the first line of monsters hiding away that the mountain gnolls would be encountering in their search for the one behind the consumption of what they likely considered their prey-

And just like she had expected, it didn’t take long for the mountain gnolls searching around the place to encounter the first few monsters hidden close to the bones of the mountain dwelling troll, a large number of mountain rabbits that jumped up filled with fear after being spotted before rapidly trying to leverage their great mobility to try and escape.

However, the mountain gnolls weren’t that easy to escape from as they began chasing them down one by one with the help of their wolves. Soon enough, killing all of the mountain rabbits-

Unfortunately, as they were busy trying to catch the mountain rabbits, Scaly and the rest of the monsters that had remained hidden so far all saw their opportunity as they began rapidly escaping in all directions. Trying to take advantage of the situation to escape before the mountain gnolls could them. Understanding that they would never get such an opportunity again if they just continued to stay hidden close to the place.

After all, none of the monsters were delusional enough to think that they would be able to escape alive or hide from the mountain gnolls in the mountainous terrain that barely had anything to hide around outside of a few large rocks and small holes in the ground.

Even more so considering that these mountain gnolls were rather well known among the monsters in the mountain range to never spare any monster they encountered. Only rarely avoiding some of the more powerful monsters like the drake living on top of the large mountains.

For this reason, Scaly was able to perfectly blend in with these monsters as they all began to desperately flee from the mountainous area and reach a place where they would be able to better hide themselves.

GROWL! GROWL!"

In turn causing the commanding mountain gnoll to start loudly yelling something to the mountain gnolls before all of them charged towards the fleeing monsters on top of their large wolves. Killing any monster too slow to escape their blades or the sharp claws of their mounts.

In the end, although she had been feeling confident in her ability to escape during the chaos caused by the large number of fleeing monsters spreading out in all directions to search for somewhere safe to hide and avoid the wolf riding mountain gnolls, Scaly was shocked by the efficiency of these mountain gnolls.

Not to mention other monsters, the only place she had seen the level of cooperation comparable to the wolf riding mountain gnolls was when she had seen the humans back on the third floor of the dungeon stuck in a battle with the ancient dire wolves.

Even then, the wolf riding wolves seemed to be a bit superior, as they weren’t adventurers without any adventures without training, but instead a real mountain gnoll cavalry.

And turning to look towards what had caused the excitement from the mountain rabbit, Scaly was similarly excited to discover a large forest covering the base of a massive mountain not too far away from them.

Although this mountain was undoubtedly one of the tall mountains that the mountain gnoll tribe should be located around, Scaly really didn’t have the time to worry about something like this at the moment, as she followed the mountain rabbit and the rest of the still alive monsters in charging towards the large forest. Knowing that it would be simple to shake off the mountain gnolls inside the forest and find a place to hide.

GROWL!

Knowing very well what she and the rest of the escaping monsters were planning, the commander of the wolf riding mountain gnolls let out a loud growling sound before he broke off from the rest of the mountain gnolls and began accelerating rapidly to try ahead of Scaly and the rest of the escaping monsters to block their escape into the forest.

Not intending to let something like that happen, as she knew that she would stand little chance getting away after being surrounded by so many mountain gnolls, Scaly didn’t bother hiding her strength and decided to directly launch a dozen water blades towards the approaching mountain gnoll commander.

Seeing this, the mountain gnoll charging forward alone was forced to violently pull his wolf to the side to barely avoid the incoming water blades-

However, before he had a chance to refocus and resume his chase, he suddenly found a curtain of water directly. Crashing directly into it before finding himself tumbling around on the ground together with his wolf before coming to a stop after rolling for a little over a dozen meters on the rocky ground.

Standing up by the time that the rest of the mountain gnolls caught up to him, the mountain gnoll commander let out a loud roar filled with killing intent as both of his eyes focused on Scaly’s figure as she disappeared inside the dense forest.

At this moment, he and the rest of the mountain gnolls present instantly understood who was behind the death and consumption of the mountain dwelling troll that they had come looking for...
