Chapter 71: Important! First Deal with the Weakened Humans!

However, he didn’t have to do anything, as Carl jumped forward and pushed him aside before facing off against Scaly, who was growing increasingly frustrated with him now that he had stopped her two times in a row.

Even though he had been weakened after her last surprise attack, forcing him to join the rest of the humans in fighting back against the swamp alligators, it was obvious that he was nowhere weak enough for her to easily deal with.

With this in mind, scaly suppressed her killing intent towards this annoying human who kept standing in her way and instead rushed towards another of the weakened humans who had now been left by themselves.

More specifically, the human woman who had rushed up on her trying to kill her not too long ago.

Even with the other humans calling out from the side trying to stop her, she still continued to rush forward much to Scaly’s delight.

Giving the rest of the humans no chance to catch up and save her, including the Carl human who was rushing after her from behind-

However, it was too late for them to do anything, as her claws made contact with the human woman’s sword. Instantly knocking it out of her hand and forcing her to stumble backwards before falling flat on her butt.

At the same time also causing her injuries to resurface as she clutched at her wound with a painful expression on her face.

Watching how his comrades faces turned from sad to anger and then to fear, Carl couldn’t help panicking as he yelled this while keeping an eye on the lizard that seemed to have come to a stop after killing Lily.

However, his relief of the lizard coming to a stop didn’t last for long, as Scaly soon began rushing towards the next human, a young boy around the age of 16 that seemed to be one of the weakest among the remaining seven humans left at this point-

And with no dramatic battle or struggle, the boy died in a single move. Shocking Scaly a bit and making her seriously wonder why the group of humans had dragged along someone that weak.

Unaware of the fact that he wasn’t there for fighting, but instead to carry the luggage or dead monsters back to the town for the group of adventurers, a baggage carrier to be more specific, someone common among larger adventurer groups and someone that this group of adventurers had specifically brought along with them to carry Sir Galahad’s remains in case he was found dead.

In turn, his death didn’t bring much reaction from the group of humans and instead just ended up giving them time to properly group together again to against any attacks from Scaly, while Carl rushed forward to face her on his own.

Realizing that she would have to face the annoying cautious human again, Scaly could not help frowning to herself as she dodged to the side and began making her way towards the five other humans with the annoying human, Carl, following close behind.

Instead of facing the still strong and lively human, she preferred to first go after the weaker humans and prevent them from assisting from the side, or worse... Run away and make her lose out on a large sum of experience!

No matter which of these two things the weakened humans decided to go with, it was obvious to Scaly that dealing with them was far more important than fighting it out with the annoying human who had managed to retain almost all of his strength during his time in the water.

As a result of this, the five weakened humans began panicking, while the one chasing after her seemed to have become more desperate to catch up to her and stop her from reaching them-

However, as the group of weakened humans were preparing themselves to face her and stall for long enough that Carl could catch up to her, Scaly used the mana that she had specifically preserved for this fight to conjure five water spears before throwing them towards the five of them.

Intending to kill all of them before focusing her full attention on facing the annoying human who had managed to retain his strength and wasn’t much weaker than the human knight she had killed earlier.

Seeing the now all too familiar water spears appearing in front of them again, the five weakened humans could not help panicking, as they were all too familiar with just how strong these water spears were and the fact that they were in no condition to deal with such powerful magic.

Not to mention, even if they managed to block the water spears or dodge out of the way, they still had to deal with the lizard that came after the water spears!

As a result of this, three of the remaining five humans ended up directly dying to the water spears, while the other two were left grievously injured.

One having his chest pierced by being too slow to dodge, while the last had managed to stand his ground and block the attack with his shield.

No matter who among the survivors, both of them were in bad shape and unable to continue fighting. Especially the one whose chest had been pierced through and was now lying on the ground bleeding out.

So, with close to no effort, Scaly ended both of them before the annoying human could catch up to her. Managing to gain yet another level in the process. Making her once again awed over just how much experience she gained from killing humans.

Of course, she also understood that the only reason that she was able to kill these humans was because they were all in an extremely weakened state.

If all of them had their full strength and was comparable to the human knight she had faced earlier on, she doubted she would have stood much of a chance against them. Possibly even standing a better chance facing off against the gnoll chieftain or the forest rabbit lord...

"You- You killed them!?"

Hearing the familiar voice of the annoying human calling out to her as she was a bit lost in her own thoughts after the sudden level up, Scaly turned around and came face to face with the shocked and anger filled eyes of the annoying human, who had come to a stop a little over five meters away from her.

Hm? Is he angry? If I’m not wrong, I seem to remember a bit about angry humans from my past life. Hmm... what was it... Fighting someone angry should make them... Easier to defeat? Yes! That should be it!

Tilting her head curiously as she saw the anger and shock in his eyes, Scaly could not help recalling something from what little blurry memories remained from her past life, as she got ready to face the annoying human who looked like he wanted to kill her with his stare alone.
