13: Chapter 13 Objectives
Su Chen walked out of the school, sorting through his identity in his mind—parents both dead, no sister, no house, the standard transmigrator configuration. Scrolling through his contacts, he couldn't find a single person to share the joy of his awakening with.
Without the slightest lingering attachment, he abandoned the idea of going home to rest. Since it was still early, he headed straight for the Western Suburbs of Yunlan.
The entrance to the out-of-city dungeons was there, and it was also the best place for him to practice the philosophy of "sustaining war through war."
“The Hand of Heaven Stealing can ignore class restrictions to steal skills. I’ll take this opportunity to start a collection of skills from all classes. In the future, whether it's Warrior, Mage, or Priest, I’ll get my hands on every powerful skill,” Su Chen muttered to himself, his pace never slowing.
In the Western Suburbs of Yunlan, a dark, swirling stone portal stood in the center of an open space; that was the dungeon entrance.
The area around the stone portal was bustling with activity, sketching a realistic social picture of a digitized world:
Several merchants squatted on the ground, hawking their wares at stalls. “Silver Scale Breastplate (Black Iron Rank), Defense +20, only 500 Gold Coins, first come first served!”
Not far away, two brawny men held guild banners to recruit members. “Blood Fiend Guild is recruiting! Lv20+ Warriors preferred, grouping up for Thunderclap Canyon, equipment will be distributed!”
“Domineering Blade Guild is more reliable! We carry newbies, fixed raids every day!”
There were also many solo professionals gathered together, asking each other for party information.
“Anyone for Thunderclap Canyon? We need a Priest!”
“I'm an Archer, looking for a carry, I can provide ranged DPS!”
Su Chen's gaze swept over the crowd and finally locked onto the dungeon panel next to the stone portal. His target was clear: Gold Rank · Thunderclap Canyon.
[Dungeon: Gold Rank · Thunderclap Canyon]
[Level Requirement: Lv25]
[Party Size: 5 People]
[Monster Level: Level 25]
[BOSS: Thunder-Patterned Giant Wolf (Gold Rank)]
[Dungeon Drops: Lightning-type Skill Books, Gold Rank Equipment, Lightning-attribute Materials]
“A Level 25 dungeon. By fighting monsters above my level, the experience will definitely be enough to level up quickly and reach my second class advancement sooner.” Su Chen calculated in his heart. More importantly, the Gold BOSS Thunder-Patterned Giant Wolf had a large-scale Lightning-type AoE skill, which was exactly the target he wanted to steal.
He was currently Lv8. Although there was a 17-level difference from Lv25, thanks to the God Slayer’s 'Tenfold Growth' trait, his Spirit attribute had already surpassed 500 points.
Even though he was a physical class, it was enough to support him in casting powerful spells, allowing his mob-clearing efficiency to achieve a qualitative leap.
Just as he was about to click the dungeon entrance, a burly man carrying a heavy sword walked over and patted his shoulder, saying heartily, “Little brother, you look very unfamiliar. You just awakened, right? Want to join our party for Thunderclap Canyon? We need a DPS. We'll carry you for experience and gear, it's a guaranteed win!”
The burly man was over Lv20, and behind him stood two teammates, a Mage and a Priest, both in the Lv18+ bracket.
Just as Su Chen was about to refuse, the Mage's eyes suddenly lit up. He pointed at Su Chen and said in a surprised tone, “You... You're Su Chen? That Su Chen from Class 3-9 of Yunlan City Third High School? The number one student who just awakened a Legendary-grade class?”
As soon as these words came out, the burly man and the Priest were both stunned, their faces filled with embarrassment.
They thought Su Chen was just a newly awakened rookie and wanted to pull him in to fill the numbers, but they didn't expect him to be the Legendary-grade genius whose name had recently spread throughout Yunlan.
However, Thunderclap Canyon was a Lv25 dungeon. For Su Chen, who had just awakened and was only Lv8, entering it was no different from suicide.
“So it's a Legendary-grade big shot. Sorry, sorry, I didn't recognize you.” The burly man quickly dropped his previous tone and gave a sheepish smile. “Big shot, why not party with us anyway? With us protecting you, it'll be easier, and you can still leech some experience.”
Su Chen shook his head gently and declined, “No thanks, I'll solo it.”
As his voice fell, under the horrified gazes of the three, he opened the dungeon difficulty selection, clicked “Nightmare Difficulty” without hesitation, and then stepped directly into the dark swirling stone portal.
The surrounding professionals who were watching also saw this scene and began to gossip.
“My God, isn't that Su Chen with the Legendary-grade class? He's actually going to solo Nightmare-level Thunderclap Canyon?”
“Is he crazy? He's only Lv8, and the dungeon monsters are all Level 25. Soloing Nightmare difficulty with a 17-level gap—if that isn't suicide, what is?”
“Young and reckless, he doesn't know the heights of the heavens. He'll probably be killed and sent out in less than a minute!”
“Just wait and see, it won't be long before he has to Resurrection out in a pathetic state.”
Su Chen ignored the outside chatter. After stepping through the stone portal, he instantly entered the interior of the dungeon.
The place was filled with withered trees and jagged rocks. The sky was gloomy, and the air was thick with the sound of oppressive thunder. From time to time, a bolt of lightning would streak across the sky, illuminating the gravel on the ground, fully displaying the killing intent of a Gold Rank dungeon.
This was the Nightmare difficulty of Thunderclap Canyon. Within the dead silence, fatal dangers were hidden.
As soon as he took a step into the dungeon, a system prompt sounded.
[Ding! You have entered Nightmare-level · Thunderclap Canyon. Monster aggro triggered!]
Before the voice could fade, several dark shadows darted out from behind the rocks and landed in front of Su Chen.
They were several Lightning Wolves, each three meters long, their bodies covered in silver-white fur. Their eyes flickered with electricity, and a faint aura of lightning swirled around them. They were indeed Lv25 dungeon monsters.
[Monster: Lightning Wolf]
[Level: 25]
[Rank: Normal]
[HP: 3000/3000]
[Attack Power: 400]
[Skills: Thunderball (Ranged), Thunder Fang Bite (Melee + Lightning Damage)]
The Lightning Wolves stared at Su Chen, letting out low growls. Without the slightest hesitation, they attacked simultaneously.
Several white lightning orbs spat from their mouths, firing like cannonballs. The dense orbs blocked all of Su Chen's room to dodge, initiating the battle with a ranged lightning baptism.
Su Chen's eyes narrowed, but he didn't panic at all.
Bridging a 17-level gap might be a desperate situation for others, but for him, who possessed a Mythical-grade class and an S-rank talent, it was nothing more than an extreme solo performance in a high-level dungeon.
