6: Chapter 6 Assassins Don't Stealth
Su Chen picked up the dark glove, activated his mental command to pull up the attribute panel, and confirmed the specific information of this piece of equipment.
[Item: dark glove (Bronze Grade)]
[Defense: 45]
[Attributes: Constitution +15, Strength +8]
[Equipment Requirement: Strength 50, Constitution 60 (Warrior-class heavy armor)]
"A Bronze-grade heavy armor glove that also adds 15 Constitution and 8 Strength; it counts as a decent item in the early stages." Su Chen nodded. Although it was Warrior-class equipment and had class restrictions, he didn't care at all.
His current Strength and Constitution at Lv3 were 350 points, far exceeding the equipment requirements, so he directly ignored the Assassin class wearing restriction and equipped the dark glove.
Instantly, a surge of heavy power surged forth, and his survival and damage output limits increased once again.
With his equipment updated, Su Chen continued deep into the Gloomy Dense Forest and soon arrived at the final BOSS level—the Large Order Goblin Tribe.
Two watchtowers were built on the outskirts of the tribe, with Goblin scouts on each, vigilantly observing their surroundings.
[Ding! Final BOSS level detected: Large Order Goblin Tribe]
[Level Intel: Once the watchtower scouts discover a player, they will blow their horns, drawing the entire map's worth of Goblins to surround and attack.]
[Difficulty Scale: Normal (hundreds), Hard (thousands), Nightmare (2,000 normal Goblins + 200 elite Goblins)]
[Conventional Strategy (Assassin Class): Use stealth to assassinate the scouts, avoid tribe traps, and wait for the Goblin Chieftain to be alone before launching a surprise attack.]
Su Chen looked at the scouts on the watchtowers, a cold smile curling on his lips as he muttered to himself: "Stealth takes too much time. As long as I kill all the witnesses, it counts as perfect stealth."
What he wanted was ultimate experience gain; actively triggering the map-wide alert to reap all the Goblins at once was the optimal solution.
As soon as he finished speaking, Su Chen hoisted his cross greatsword and moved. The afterimage speed brought about by his 610 Agility exploded instantly as he charged toward the watchtowers.
Seeing this, the Goblin scouts on the watchtowers immediately let out shrill screeches and picked up their horns, blowing them violently.
"Woo—woo—woo—"
The sound of the horns resounded throughout the entire Gloomy Dense Forest with extreme piercing power. Chaotic footsteps and screeches instantly erupted from within the tribe; the Goblins across the entire map were completely activated.
Not long after, hundreds of vanguard Goblins assembled and charged toward Su Chen.
Their troop types were far more complex than before; besides Big Goblins, there were Goblin Decurions wielding long blades, Goblin Mages chanting spells, Goblin Priests responsible for healing, and Goblin Flail-wielders swinging chain hammers—a complete lineup.
"Attack!"
Following the roar of a Goblin Decurion, all the Goblins launched their attacks simultaneously.
The [Double Shot] from a dozen spearmen, fireballs, ice shards, and lightning from several mages, along with the chain hammer throws from the flail-wielders formed a carpet-bombing of skills. Countless abilities rained down like a storm, blocking all space for evasion.
Su Chen remained expressionless, carrying his greatsword with no intention of dodging. With his afterimage-level speed, he ignored all ranged firepower and forcefully charged through the skill-coverage zone, plunging straight into the 50-meter core area of the enemy formation.
"Time to clear the field."
Su Chen focused his mind and activated his core skill [Flash Stab], instantly teleporting behind a Goblin Mage. He swept his greatsword across, slicing it in half and killing it instantly.
[Ding! Killed Level 7 Goblin Mage, gained 150 experience points!]
[Ding! [Flash Stab] killed a target, cooldown refreshed!]
Su Chen did not pause, pushing the "kill to refresh" mechanism of [Flash Stab] to the extreme, achieving high-frequency blinking within the mob.
He blinked and shifted, easily dodging the mages' magical bombardment; the moment he reappeared, he swept his greatsword, and several more Goblins fell to the ground.
"The hundredth one." Su Chen's voice was cold. Each count was accompanied by the death of one or several Goblins; some were cleaved in two by the greatsword, others had their throats precisely slit, with no power to fight back.
He wove through the mob like a ghost, combining offense and defense. Teleporting, killing instantly, and refreshing cooldowns—his movements were smooth and flowing, without a hint of hesitation.
The attack range of the cross greatsword was extremely wide; each sweep could take out four or five normal Goblins, and even elite Goblins couldn't last more than two strikes. His killing efficiency was terrifying to the extreme.
However, the scale of the Goblin tribe was truly too massive. 2,000 normal Goblins and 200 elite Goblins surged out from within the tribe like an endless tide; their gathering speed even exceeded Su Chen's killing speed.
Soon, Su Chen was surrounded by a dense mass of Goblins. The screen was filled with green-skinned monsters attacking frantically; wooden clubs, long blades, chain hammers, and magic assaulted him from all directions, almost completely submerging his figure.
Yet Su Chen was not panicked in the slightest. His ultra-high Agility of 610 points made his movement like a ghost; amidst the siege of thousands of monsters, he still maintained a perfect evasion of "zero contact."
He constantly twisted his body, weaving lightly through the mob. Each movement precisely avoided all attacks while he swung his greatsword, continuously reaping lives.
Time passed bit by bit, and Su Chen's kill count continued to climb. Corpses piled up like mountains on the ground, and blood stained the surrounding land red.
Yet Goblins continued to surge out endlessly, as if they could never be killed off.
But a change was quietly taking place. The Goblins realized that no matter how they attacked, they couldn't even touch the hem of Su Chen's clothes, while their companions kept falling. Fear began to spread through the group.
The originally berserk screeches became panicked, and their attacks became disorganized. Some Goblins even began to shrink back, not daring to get close to Su Chen anymore.
Just then, a deafening roar suddenly came from deep within the tribe. The voice was filled with majesty and fury, instantly drowning out all other screeches, and the entire Gloomy Dense Forest trembled because of it.
Su Chen stopped his slaughter, looked up toward the depths of the tribe, and his eyes narrowed.
He could feel an aura several times more powerful than a Big Goblin rapidly approaching.
The final lord ruling over these 2,200 Goblins was finally making an appearance. The real BOSS battle had officially begun.
