41: Chapter 41 Massacre

The scene of Fan Cang being killed in a single sword strike struck all the Necromancers like a thunderbolt, leaving them utterly stunned.

These once violent and bloodthirsty Fourth-Class powerhouses now wore only extreme terror on their faces, their understanding of reality completely shattered.

A Level 38 professional had actually killed an Level 80 Fourth-Class leader in a single blow. This fundamentally defied all conventional logic of levels.

Fear spread through the mage group like a plague. They completely lost their will to fight, their defensive line collapsing entirely. Gone was their previous arrogance of 'a cat toying with mice.' Their first instinct wasn't to resist, but to turn and flee for their lives in a frenzy.

"Run! He's a monster, we can't fight him at all!"

On the other side, the professionals on the brink of despair witnessed this miraculous scene. They collectively swallowed hard, too shocked to speak, but a spark of hope for survival reignited in their eyes.

They knew they were saved.

Su Chen gave the Necromancers no chance to escape. Utilizing the 'kill refreshes cooldown' mechanism of Flash Stab, his form transformed into a golden specter, swiftly darting across the battlefield, initiating a seamless cutting mode that left no blind spots.

Two Necromancers, seeing this, hurriedly grabbed a wounded low-level professional, attempting to take a hostage to threaten Su Chen: "Don't come any closer! Take another step and I'll kill him!"

But before the words even finished, Su Chen's figure flickered. He instantly teleported behind the two. The cross greatsword pierced their hearts with precision. The two mages collapsed to the ground, breath ceasing entirely, not even having time to scream.

Screams of agony echoed one after another through Lava Valley. Su Chen's expression remained cold and detached, without the slightest hesitation. Every sword strike represented the end of a Necromancer's life.

His movements were as fast as lightning—teleport, strike, kill—all in one fluid motion, without the slightest delay.

In less than ten seconds, the original group of eighteen Fourth-Class Necromancers was nearly annihilated. Only one mage remained, deliberately spared by Su Chen to investigate leads on the Undead Holy See.

Su Chen raised a hand and flung out a confinement scroll. A pale blue light barrier instantly trapped the captive, rendering him immobile.

Afterwards, he exited his supreme mode. The aura surrounding him completely retracted, his presence returning to normal.

At that moment, a shield-bearing youth was the first to break the deathly silence, roaring wildly: "We survived! We actually survived!"

This roar acted like a fuse. The rescued professionals instantly plunged into a collective emotional breakdown.

Some, relieved to be alive, clung to each other, weeping bitterly;

Some looked at the charred corpses of their fallen comrades on the ground, shedding tears of grief, venting the sorrow of losing their comrades-in-arms;

Others clenched their fists tightly, their eyes filled with nothing but rage.

Soon, the crowd poured all their pent-up fury onto the captured Necromancer, kicking and punching, yet deliberately avoiding fatal areas.

Su Chen stood to the side, his expression placid. He did not stop them, tacitly allowing the victims this non-lethal venting.

These Necromancers, their hands stained with blood, deserved such punishment.

Xia Ning's taut nerves finally relaxed after the danger was completely eliminated. The longsword in her hand clattered to the ground. An unconcealable weariness and vulnerability showed on her face; the strength she had forcibly maintained earlier now completely crumbled.

She took a deep breath, walked up to Su Chen, gave a slight bow, and spoke in a respectful and grateful tone: "Thank you for your intervention, sir. My name is Xia Ning, a Judge. May I ask your esteemed name?"

A gentle smile appeared on Su Chen's face as he replied calmly: "Su Chen. It was merely a small effort. Scum from the Undead Holy See like this deserves to be eradicated by anyone. Even if I hadn't intervened, someone else would have dealt with them eventually."

His smile, set against the backdrop of the devastated, bloody, and brutal battlefield, seemed exceptionally dazzling, like a ray of sunlight instantly illuminating the depths of Xia Ning's heart, leaving a profound imprint on her soul.

Xia Ning looked at him, her cheeks flushing slightly, a strange flutter stirring in her heart. She hurriedly lowered her head: "Regardless, you are our savior, sir. This debt of gratitude, we will never forget it."

Su Chen didn't dwell on it further. His gaze swept over the devastated battlefield before him and the traces left by the Undead Holy See, his expression turning serious.

He chose not to handle this privately. Instead, he took out his communicator and once again dialed the number of City Lord Jiang Yu.

The Undead Holy See openly slaughtering professionals within a dungeon was a serious provocation. This matter required official intervention. It was both proper procedure and a way to demonstrate the strength of Yunlan's authorities—a reflection of his mature political acumen.

The call connected quickly. Jiang Yu's steady voice came through: "Su Chen? What is it? Are you in trouble?"

"I'm in Lava Valley. I encountered people from the Undead Holy See—eighteen Fourth-Class mages. They slaughtered many low-level professionals. I've dealt with most of them, left one alive. The authorities need to handle the aftermath and investigate the Undead Holy See's movements." Su Chen's tone was matter-of-fact as he clearly explained the situation.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yu's tone instantly turned grave: "The Undead Holy See? They dare cause trouble in this area! Don't worry, I'll bring people immediately. Even if it means crossing city lines, I'll get there as fast as possible!"

Although Lava Valley was located in a neighboring city's territory, beyond Yunlan's direct jurisdiction, Jiang Yu decided without hesitation to provide cross-domain support.

Between him and Su Chen, a highly tacit core cooperative relationship had already formed—Su Chen needed the official backing and support, Jiang Yu needed Su Chen's strength. It was a mutually beneficial partnership.
