112: Chapter 112 The Precocious Wolf
The embers in the fireplace still glowed with a few strands of dark red, and the light in the hall was as dim as an old veil. The three of them surrounded the Direwolf Cub, and a lingering scent of mutton hung in the air.
Lin Rui leaned back in his chair with his shield resting at his feet, the metal edge tapping against the floor with a slight sound. He stared at the Direwolf Cub for a long while before suddenly speaking.
"Since it likes eating lamb chops so much, we might as well just call it Lamb Chop."
The Direwolf Cub's ears twitched. It had originally been lying on Su Wan's lap with its eyelids half-drooped, looking as if it were about to fall asleep.
Upon hearing this, it snapped its head up, its amber pupils constricting sharply, and a low growl rolled from its throat. Two fangs that hadn't yet fully grown poked out from the corners of its mouth, and it bared them at Lin Rui.
"Yo," Lin Rui chuckled, "it understood."
"Of course it understood." Hu Jinsi was poking at the embers in the fireplace with a stick without turning his head. "Intelligence eight, understands Common. You're telling it to its face that you want to name it after food; it would be strange if it didn't bare its fangs at you."
Lin Rui was unconvinced. He leaned in two steps, squatted down, and tried to look the Direwolf Cub in the eye. "What about Wangcai? Zhaocai? Puppy? Doggy?"
With every name he proposed, the Direwolf Cub's growl grew lower. It moved its front paws from Su Wan's lap to the floor, its shoulders hunched slightly, and the iron-gray fur on its back bristled into a fine layer of fuzz in the firelight.
It stared fixedly at Lin Rui, as if looking at a piece of raw meat about to be torn to shreds.
Su Wan felt a tense sensation on her lap. The muscles in the cub's hind legs were coiled like springs, ready to pounce at any moment. She pressed down on its spine, her fingers curling with a firm but gentle pressure.
"If you keep listing names," Su Wan said through gritted teeth, "it's going to break free from your arms and bite you."
When she said this, her eyes weren't on the Dire Wolf, but fixed on Lin Rui. Those eyes, which were usually filled with smiles, were now as deep as two dark wells. A chill inexplicably crept up the back of Lin Rui's neck, and he raised his hands, stepping back half a pace.
"Alright, alright, I'll stop."
Su Wan withdrew her gaze and looked down at the Direwolf Cub. Her fingers stroked slowly along its spine, from its neck down to its tailbone, with a gentle yet steady rhythm.
The cub's shoulders and back slowly relaxed, and its fangs retracted behind its lips, but its gaze remained locked on Lin Rui with a cold, scrutinizing look.
Hu Jinsi tossed the stick into the fireplace and clapped the ash from his hands. He had no desire to participate in this naming farce. As far as he understood, these Dire Wolves should have their own true names, but the cub couldn't speak yet.
All they needed to do now was come up with a convenient name to call it; there was no need to make such a fuss as if they were choosing a concubine.
"You come up with one." He looked at Su Wan.
Su Wan thought for a moment. Her fingers paused on the back of the cub's neck, gently pinching that layer of iron-gray fur. "Grayfang?"
The cub's ears flattened.
"Ironback?"
Its ears flattened even further.
"Amber?"
The cub buried its head directly into the crook of Su Wan's arm, its refusal as clear as it could be.
Su Wan clicked her tongue. She glanced at Hu Jinsi with helplessness in her eyes. Hu Jinsi sighed, squatted down, and looked the cub in the eye.
"How about you be called Xiaoquan Yilang?" His voice wasn't loud, but every word was spoken clearly. "When you grow up, we will call you Daquan Yilang."
The Direwolf Cub's ears perked up.
Su Wan and Lin Rui froze for a moment. The two of them exchanged a glance, and their shoulders began to tremble slightly. Su Wan bit her lip, turned her face away, and gripped the Direwolf Cub's fur tightly.
Lin Rui was more direct; he turned to face the wall, his fist pressed to his mouth, emitting a series of suppressed, muffled coughs.
The Direwolf Cub completely ignored the two humans' reactions. Its attention was entirely focused on Hu Jinsi's face. It tilted its head, its ears turning back and forth as if confirming whether it had heard correctly.
Then it slowly stood up, jumped off Su Wan's lap, walked over to Hu Jinsi, and looked up at him.
"Woo."
The sound wasn't like the previous growl, nor was it a whimper; it sounded more like a low, probing response. Its tail wasn't wagging, but its ears remained upright, and the scrutinizing look in its pupils had faded, replaced by a calm that was almost like approval.
"It agrees," Hu Jinsi said.
He reached out, palm up, and hovered it over the Direwolf Cub's head. The cub didn't dodge, allowing his palm to rest on its head. The fur was rougher than he expected, carrying a dry, dusty scent like an old blanket that had been thoroughly baked in the sun.
Hu Jinsi rubbed it gently a couple of times. The cub's eyes narrowed, but its tail remained hanging low, without any fawning posture.
"Xiaoquan Yilang." Hu Jinsi withdrew his hand and said formally, "It's settled, that will be your name from now on."
The Direwolf Cub stepped back half a pace, scratched the ground with its front paws, and then turned and walked back to Su Wan's side, jumping onto her lap and curling into a ball.
Its nose was pointed in Hu Jinsi's direction, and even with its eyes closed, it maintained a posture ready to leap down at any moment.
The naming farce ended there. Hu Jinsi would no longer participate in the daily training of this creature and Su Wan. He, Lin Rui, and Su Wan established a watch rotation: Lin Rui for the first half of the night, Su Wan for the middle, and Hu Jinsi for the latter half until dawn.
With the arrangements made, Hu Jinsi walked to the other side of the fireplace, sat cross-legged on the floor, placed his hands on his knees, and closed his eyes. His internal energy circulated slowly through his body, rising from the dantian, sinking into the sea of qi, and then dispersing into his limbs.
The embers in the fireplace crackled softly, the Direwolf Cub's breathing gradually steadied, and the hall fell into a weary and peaceful silence.
...
The next day, before dawn had fully broken, the three of them were up.
The seventy-two-hour cycle of the dungeon was coming to an end, and they wanted to take advantage of the last few hours to clear out more Blackrock Orcs. Su Wan and Lin Rui packed their gear quietly, while Hu Jinsi stuffed the last few lamb chops into his backpack to serve as rations for the road.
Xiaoquan Yilang was not used to being woken up so early. It lifted its head from the pile of fur Su Wan had laid out for it, its ears drooping, and its amber eyes full of morning grumpiness. It looked at Hu Jinsi, a threatening low growl rolling in its throat as if in protest.
Hu Jinsi didn't indulge it. He pulled a lamb chop from his pack and slapped it onto its face with a *thwack*. The grease and aroma of the meat instantly smeared all over the cub's face.
Xiaoquan Yilang froze.
It blinked twice, its tongue instinctively darting out to lick the grease from its mouth. Then its ears slowly perked up, and the fur on its shoulders and back gradually smoothed down.
It clamped the lamb chop in its mouth, retreated to a corner, and began to gnaw on it. The chewing motion was neither rushed nor slow, but its gaze remained fixed on Hu Jinsi, as if re-evaluating this human's value.
"What a snob." Su Wan squatted nearby, watching, and couldn't help but laugh out loud.
Hu Jinsi shrugged helplessly. That was the nature of a Dire Wolf—cunning, vengeful, and only submissive to the strong. This cub was only three months old, yet it had already mastered the art of reading the room.
It knew who gave it food, who couldn't be provoked, when to be submissive, and when to test boundaries. This early maturity made Hu Jinsi feel a trace of unease, but he had to admit that these were indeed the qualities an excellent Dire Wolf should have.
After finishing breakfast, the three of them packed up and set out. Xiaoquan Yilang followed at Su Wan's heels, its pace steady, its ears perked straight up, sniffing the ground from time to time. Its movements carried a natural vigilance; even in the safe town, it always maintained a posture ready to deal with danger.
"Taking it to fight Blackrock Orcs," Su Wan suddenly stopped and looked at Hu Jinsi, "is its safety guaranteed?"
Hu Jinsi turned his head and looked at her with an almost helpless expression. He pointed at Xiaoquan Yilang, then pointed at Su Wan.
"Big sis, look at this guy's stats. Forget about level one; you might not even be able to beat it when you're level five. Its movement speed is already faster than yours, and in battle, it stands far away, making it safer than any of us."
Su Wan froze for a moment, then rubbed her nose in embarrassment. She had indeed forgotten that. In her mind, Xiaoquan Yilang was always a cub that needed care, not a magical beast with stats higher than her own.
With the help of [Marching Song], the three of them soon returned to the vicinity of the orc camp they hadn't finished clearing yesterday. The camp was located behind a pile of rubble on the north side of the main road. A few dilapidated tents were still standing, the embers of the campfire had gone out, and only a few wisps of blue smoke drifted in the morning breeze.
Before the battle began, Hu Jinsi squatted down and called Xiaoquan Yilang over. He rested his hands on his knees and looked the cub in the eye.
"You just wait for us in the distance. You don't need to participate in the battle. If you sense danger, just bark twice, and we will come back to help you."
He spoke slowly, enunciating every word clearly. He knew that with a Dire Wolf's intelligence, it could fully understand the meaning of these words.
Xiaoquan Yilang's ears twitched, its gaze lingered on Hu Jinsi's face for a few seconds, then it turned and trotted back behind a giant rock, leaving only half its head exposed as it watched them from afar.
Hu Jinsi stood up and exchanged a look with Lin Rui and Su Wan. The three of them spread out and crept toward the camp from three directions.
The battle didn't last long. After all, with only these two types of Blackrock Orcs, and after the high-intensity fighting the three of them had done all day yesterday, they were very familiar with all the procedures.
After the battle ended, the three of them began to collect the loot. Xiaoquan Yilang was indeed very clever; it came trotting over from behind the rock, circling at their feet, its nose sniffing around the drops on the ground.
Its gaze swept over a few white-quality pieces of equipment and a pile of miscellaneous items, finally locking onto a charred object.
It was a burnt ogre toe, still emitting faint smoke and giving off a pungent, burnt smell.
Hu Jinsi frowned, just about to kick it away, but Xiaoquan Yilang had already snatched it up, retreated to the side, and began to tear into it. Its chewing sounds were crisp and satisfied, as if it were enjoying some rare delicacy.
"It eats that?" Lin Rui's face turned a bit green.
"It seems it doesn't just eat lamb chops." Su Wan squatted down, looking at the cub curiously. "Can it eat all this Blackrock Orc food?"
The facts proved this to be true. During the subsequent battles, every time they collected loot, Xiaoquan Yilang would come over, pick and choose from the drops, and carry away various Blackrock Orc-style ingredients.
Burnt toes, charcoal-grilled jerky rolls, some kind of smoked meat chunks with unrecognizable origins—it ate them all with gusto. The dark cuisine that the three of them couldn't accept seemed to have turned into a delicacy in its mouth.
It looked like this guy hadn't been full at all from the two meals last night and this morning. Hu Jinsi calculated silently in his heart. If they didn't rely on supplies from the dungeon and simply bought ingredients for it at the market, it might cost nearly two hundred credits a day.
His own food expenses for a week were about that much. This Dire Wolf's daily food cost was equal to his own for a week.
Feeling cheated, Hu Jinsi immediately grabbed Lin Rui and Su Wan nearby, his voice raised an octave.
"Split it! We split it! Since you two wanted to talk about cloud-raising, at least this feed cost has to be shared!"
Su Wan glanced at him and said slowly, "Since we promised, we will definitely pay, don't worry. Didn't you read its stats? This guy is already three months old; this type of Dire Wolf already has eighty percent of its adult combat power by six months. By then, it can fend for itself. Isn't that right, Yilang?"
Xiaoquan Yilang lifted its head from a piece of smoked meat, its ears twitched, but it ignored her and continued to bury its head in eating.
Hu Jinsi picked up the cub and held it in front of him, saying very formally, "You heard that too. We will raise you for three months. After three months, you must demonstrate your value."
He had thought this kind of intimidation would make the little thing afraid, or at least show a little fear.
Who knew that after the Direwolf Cub heard his words, a brilliance suddenly burst into its eyes. Its ears stood straight up, and although its tail didn't wag, its shoulders and back relaxed significantly.
It swallowed the chunk of meat in its mouth, and then, without waiting for Hu Jinsi's arrangement, turned and ran to the edge of the battlefield, carrying the scattered equipment and miscellaneous items it could manage one by one to the three of them, and dropping them.
A rusted short sword, a damaged wooden shield, a few pieces of scattered fur. It ran back and forth two or three times, neatly stacking the items at Hu Jinsi's feet, then stepped back half a pace, looked up at him, its eyes shining with a light that was almost like it was asking for credit.
Lin Rui was so shocked by the little guy's intelligence that he was speechless. He had made several assumptions: he had thought this little thing would beg Hu Jinsi for mercy, or that it might turn to Su Wan to act cute.
He just didn't expect that after listening to Hu Jinsi's words, it would immediately find a job it could do for itself.
"If I had this intelligence when I was a kid," Lin Rui muttered to himself, "I wouldn't have been beaten by my father at home so often."
Su Wan clapped her hands excitedly: "Yilang is so smart! Well done!"
She turned her head back to Hu Jinsi, her eyes and brows relaxing: "See, I was right, wasn't I? This little guy can totally become another main force in our team. It's so small now, and at three months old, it's already started to find work to support itself."
Hu Jinsi looked at the pile of miscellaneous items at his feet, then looked at Xiaoquan Yilang's expectant eyes, and it was truly hard to say anything in opposition.
Even though this little guy had this or that issue, compared to the dogs and cats at other people's homes that only knew how to wreck the house, this guy's virtues instantly shone through.
The trio and the Dire Wolf continued their struggle until ten in the morning. A system notification flickered at the edge of their vision, a familiar sensation of weightlessness washed over them, and their vision went black. When they opened their eyes again, they were already standing at the dungeon exit.
Perhaps it was the good luck brought by this Dire Wolf named Xiao Lang, but the team actually managed to obtain another [Skill Stone: Shadow Bolt] in their final battle. Besides that, Su Wan also picked up many large chewing bones that they usually hadn't noticed, planning to pile them all at Hu Jinsi's place for Xiao Lang to chew on.
...
Since none of the three had the ability to tame a Dire Wolf, nor had they purchased a corresponding Beast Taming Bag, Xiaoquan Yilang had to follow the three of them out of the dungeon.
As soon as the trio and the Dire Wolf exited the dungeon, they were met with intense curiosity from their peers.
Quite a few students were already gathered at the dungeon exit, standing in twos and threes, some scrolling through their terminals, others exchanging loot. As soon as Hu Jinsi and his team walked out, the surrounding gazes were like magnets, all instantly fixed on Xiaoquan Yilang.
"Is that... a Dire Wolf?"
"A cub, right? It's so small."
"Who dropped it? How did you bring it out?"
Some socially fearless peers pushed right over, asking questions all at once. "Where did you get this Dire Wolf?" "Are you selling?" "What's the price?" A boy wearing a leather jacket even pulled out his terminal, opened the transfer interface, and prepared to negotiate on the spot.
Facing this barrage of questions, the trio had to satisfy the curiosity of their peers. Lin Rui, annoyed by the questioning, raised a hand to signal everyone to quiet down.
"The little guy was dropped by an Orc Wolf Rider," he said concisely. "We have no idea what the drop rate is or what the conditions are. We just somehow ended up picking it up."
Su Wan added immediately, her tone firm: "It's not for sale. This guy is now a member of the squad, and we absolutely will not sell it."
The crowd of onlookers let out a sigh of disappointment. The boy in the leather jacket put his terminal away sullenly, couldn't help but sneak a few more glances at Xiaoquan Yilang, and then turned to leave.
Leaving the bustling dungeon entrance, the three went to the No. 1 High School teachers to provide a brief report. When the teacher in charge of registration saw Xiaoquan Yilang, he raised an eyebrow, but quickly returned to a calm expression.
He was clearly not seeing a student bring out an animal companion for the first time and was unfazed. He just asked about the dungeon progress as a matter of routine, confirmed that the three had been operating within the safe zone, checked a few boxes on the registration form, and concluded the report.
There weren't many students from No. 1 High School at the bus waiting area. Hu Jinsi had counted when they arrived; neither of the two buses was full, with only about two-thirds of the seats occupied here and there.
The ones he was most familiar with were the Gunpowder Squad; Chen Yu, Li Hao, and Zhou Hao were sitting in the corner of the bench, heads down, scrolling through their terminals. Most of the others were people he could name but didn't interact with much.
Although everyone was curious about why the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad suddenly had a medium-sized, dog-like creature with them, as soon as they saw its appearance, they were reminded of the Orc Dire Wolves they had seen inside the dungeon.
The iron-gray fur, the dark black ridge pattern on its back, the dull yellow eyes—these features were almost identical to an adult Dire Wolf. In reality, it wasn't hard to guess the origin of this Dire Wolf Cub, but no one had expected it to be brought out of the dungeon.
...
Compared to Hu Jinsi and his team obtaining a cub, another piece of news attracted more gossip and attention.
The three from the Gunpowder Squad were frantically scrolling through their communication terminals, gossiping heatedly with others, and didn't even notice the arrival of the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad.
Li Hao's fingers slid rapidly across the screen, muttering to himself; Chen Yu leaned on his shoulder, staring at the screen, occasionally letting out an exclamation; Zhou Hao stood to the side with the excitement of a typical bystander.
The team led by the S-rank twin class-holders from No. 3 High School had wiped in the [Lakeside Town] dungeon.
This news spread like wildfire through the crowd. As soon as Hu Jinsi and his team stood at the waiting area, they heard people whispering around them.
"Did you hear? The team led by the Draconic Sorcerer + Dragon Scion from No. 3 High School wiped." "Really? S-rank, and they wiped in Lakeside Town?" "Exactly, all their forced teleportation talismans were triggered; not a single one escaped."
It seemed there were many people at No. 3 High School who didn't like that pair of twins, and they had absolutely no intention of keeping it a secret for them.
Now the news was spreading everywhere, and even the details were quite convincing. It was said that after the S-rank class-holders heard that there were Black Whelps in this [Lakeside Town] dungeon, they decisively gave up the stable harvesting in the [Dragon King Warrior I] dungeon.
Because in that dungeon, although those two class-holders could bathe in the blood of Hydras and Wyverns to gain some class experience, overall, these two creatures were still quite far from being true dragons. Wyverns were at most sub-dragons, and Hydras, strictly speaking, didn't even count as sub-dragons.
However, they might have underestimated the strength of the Black Whelps in this [Lakeside Town] of the Azeroth world. Hu Jinsi knew what the Dragon Aspects in this world represented, and even if they were just projections in the dungeon, he had no intention of provoking them.
But for others, upon hearing that the monster types included Black Whelps, even if these Black Whelps were not within the range allowed by the school for students to explore, the pride of S-rank class-holders drove them to charge toward that area without hesitation.
After all, wealth moves hearts. The S-rank twin class-holders needed to bathe in dragon blood to gain a large amount of class experience, and their teammates were also very tempted by the various materials dropped by the Whelps.
Any material that had the word "Dragon" attached to it was valuable. Furthermore, the information made it clear that this type of dragon was not a sub-dragon, but a real dragon. Even if there were many of them, they were still dragons.
Even more greedy people hoped that they would drop some dragon-shaped pets; even if they were just for show, they could be sold for a high price.
But even if they didn't attack these Black Whelps, just from the most basic knowledge learned in general studies classes, one would know that these Black Whelps definitely had breath attacks and corresponding elemental attack skills.
After hearing what everyone was discussing, the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad couldn't fathom what that pair of S-rank twins was thinking.
The sequence of events was simple. The five of them finished clearing the Murlocs at the entrance on the first day, and on the second day, they excitedly walked toward the southwest side of Lakeside Town, near the south bank of Stillwater Lake. There was a large group of Whelps active there.
At first, dealing with the few Whelps on the periphery went quite smoothly. After all, Dragon Scion class-holders at this level had elemental resistance and elemental damage capabilities, making it easy for them to handle isolated Whelps, which greatly boosted their motivation.
Who knew that the subsequent aggro chain of Whelps would involve dozens at a time. Dozens of fireballs and dragon breaths sprayed over in a large area; who could dodge that?
They were all wiped out on the spot. Even if you have fire resistance and fire damage reduction, you simply can't withstand dozens of fireballs and dragon breaths. Unless you can be immune to fire damage.
...
It wasn't until they had heard most of the ins and outs of the story that Li Hao from the Gunpowder Squad spotted Hu Jinsi and his team from the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad in the crowd. He especially noticed that there was an extra Direwolf Cub beside the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad.
"Yo, Jinsi!" Li Hao sprang up from the bench, strode over to the three, and his gaze fell on Xiaoquan Yilang. "What's the situation?"
He familiarly pulled a bloody lamb chop from his backpack, waved it in his hand, and then held it out to Xiaoquan Yilang. The cub's nose twitched, and its ears swiveled. It didn't pounce immediately, but instead turned its head to look at Hu Jinsi.
Seeing no sign of objection from Hu Jinsi, it carefully sniffed the lamb chop, and after confirming it was safe, it began to feast with peace of mind.
Li Hao squatted down, watching the cub tear into the meat while observing the interaction between it and Hu Jinsi.
He first said subconsciously: "Did this Dire Wolf recognize you as its master?" Then he immediately shook his head to deny it. "No, that's not right, Jinsi, you're a Monk, this situation is unlikely. None of the three of you have an animal companion skill. Then I guess the high probability is, was the first creature this cub saw when it dropped and opened its eyes you?"
Upon being asked this by Li Hao, the three members of the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad also suddenly realized the truth. They had been puzzled before why this Dire Wolf showed some obedience to Hu Jinsi and didn't resist Su Wan, but was fierce and hostile only toward Lin Rui.
It turned out the matter was so simple; it was just because the first creature this Dire Wolf saw when it opened its eyes was Hu Jinsi. Plus, the Dire Wolf could understand the three of them speaking, and knew that it was Hu Jinsi who brought it back from the battlefield.
"Case closed." Lin Rui patted his forehead. "Finally found the reason."
He looked at Xiaoquan Yilang, his tone carrying a hint of helplessness: "Then why is it so fierce to me?"
"Maybe it's because you named it Lamb Chop," Su Wan said leisurely.
At this moment, the others from the Gunpowder Squad also gathered around. Chen Yu and Zhou Hao squeezed next to Li Hao, and both sides briefly communicated the situation inside the dungeon. The strategy adopted by the Gunpowder Squad was basically similar to that of the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad; they both cleared the monsters in the near suburbs first and advanced steadily.
But the place where they were slightly more efficient than the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad was that they used gunpowder-based firearms, so their monster-clearing speed was faster, and they had cleared most of the Murlocs at the entrance by just past two in the afternoon.
However, unlike the sequence followed by the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad, they cleared the Blackrock Orcs that afternoon and the next day, and the Gnolls on the third day and this morning. Especially when they were clearing the Blackrock Orcs, they also discovered sporadic Black Whelps beside the Blackrock Orcs.
This was something the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad hadn't discovered; perhaps the Gunpowder Squad had gone deeper than them. The final exploration range of the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad was limited to within three kilometers, while the Gunpowder Squad ignored the Orc camps on the left and right, pushed straight to the five-kilometer limit, and then gradually pushed back.
After all, the biggest difference between them and the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad was that they had that transformable motorcycle, which allowed them to launch attacks on enemies while on the move.
Since everyone was fighting the same monsters, there was no extra information to share. The only difference in fighting style couldn't really be learned from each other. Finally, Hu Jinsi asked Li Hao if he had any potent fire oil that could be applied to weapons, the kind that could ignite the fur of Gnolls.
Li Hao replied that he did have potent fire oil, and it could ignite the fur of Gnolls. But the only issue was that it was not sword oil for use on weapons. He told Hu Jinsi that if he had a need, he could only seek help from the professional mall.
He also mentioned that they had actually discovered that the conventional ammunition their squad was currently using had limited damage against creatures like Gnolls, which had natural armor and were wearing another layer of armor on the outside. They were also preparing to upgrade their ammunition, planning to fully increase the caliber of the ammunition and simultaneously modify the gun barrels, which was expected to be a major project.
The Jack-of-All-Trades Squad also warned the Gunpowder Squad about the issue of Gnoll rabies, and explained in detail the symptoms of rabies and the trigger mechanism. Since the Gunpowder Squad used all ranged tactics, there was no actual melee contact with the Gnolls.
Upon hearing Hu Jinsi's explanation, they also quickly took this matter to heart. After all, the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad still had Hu Jinsi who could remove diseases, while they had absolutely no corresponding means. Therefore, they would also start purchasing the corresponding medicine starting this week.
At the end of the communication, the Jack-of-All-Trades Squad gave the [Blueprint: Small Salt Explosive Bomb] to the Gunpowder Squad, not charging them money, but just asking the Gunpowder Squad to give them some finished products in the end. Seeing this, the members of the Gunpowder Squad didn't say anything, but just left all the lamb chops dropped by the Gnolls to Hu Jinsi.
"Take it." Chen Yu stuffed a large bag of lamb chops into Hu Jinsi's arms. "It just so happens that raising that thing of yours costs a lot of food."
Hu Jinsi looked down at the lamb chops in his arms, then looked at Xiaoquan Yilang, who was still gnawing on the lamb chop from Li Hao at his feet, and sighed.
"Fine then," he said. "At least this week's feed costs are covered."
The bus engine let out a low rumble in the distance, the doors opened, and the students began to board one after another. Hu Jinsi stuffed the lamb chops into his backpack and patted Xiaoquan Yilang's head.
The cub raised its head, its amber eyes gleaming with a warm luster in the sunlight. It didn't bark, but just nudged Hu Jinsi's wrist with its nose, and then turned to follow at his feet.
The three and the Dire Wolf walked toward the bus.
