8: Chapter 8 The Su Siblings
After hearing his younger brother's words, Su Xuanheng remained silent.
He knew that Su Xuanming had indeed poured sweat into the Martial Dao, but the results were minimal, whereas his own martial talent was that of a Prodigy, especially in the Way of the Sword.
He could execute a sword technique perfectly after seeing the Family guards practice it only once; this was the difference in talent.
No, that's not right!
Whenever Su Xuanheng thought his talent in the Way of the Sword was decent, he would involuntarily remember that when he first started the Martial Dao, he didn't have such remarkable talent.
He did indeed enjoy practicing martial arts, particularly favoring the Way of the Sword.
But back then, his progress in the Way of the Sword was actually no different from the current Su Xuanming.
It was only after a heart-to-heart talk with his father that he seemed to suddenly gain enlightenment, learning any sword technique the moment he saw it.
Because this matter was too incredible, Su Xuanheng could only bury it deep in his heart.
Whether it was related to his father or not, as long as his father didn't take the initiative to mention it, he would act as if he knew nothing to avoid leaking Family secrets.
Just then, a young girl's bell-like shout came from the doorway: "Big Brother, Second Brother, I'm back!"
Hearing her voice before seeing her person, both brothers smiled simultaneously.
Su Xuanheng finally stopped his sword practice and turned his head toward the doorway.
A little girl as pretty as carved jade, wearing a cute pink dress, came huffing and puffing into the courtyard.
Xiao Mei, who was responsible for looking after her, did not follow her in, but simply stood at the door smiling and nodding to them.
This was the Su Family martial arts field; servants were not allowed to enter or leave freely without permission.
"Where are Father and Mother? Why aren't they with you?"
Su Xuanming asked curiously.
Su Xuanjing trotted over and said loudly, "The neighboring Head of the Wang Family and Head of Liang Family are here. Father is hosting them in the main hall, and Mother went to the lakeside pavilion to play the zither."
"What are the heads of two great families doing at our Su Family?" Su Xuanming rested his chin on his hand, falling into thought.
"Who cares? It has nothing to do with us. Second Brother, why are you slacking off again? Didn't you say you were going to practice martial arts?"
Su Xuanjing blinked and questioned him loudly.
Su Xuanming's mouth twitched, and his face darkened. "I've already practiced all morning. You just didn't see it; I wasn't slacking."
This younger sister had 'Jing'—meaning quiet—in her name, but her personality wasn't quiet at all. She was a complete live wire, chattering away all day long, and the things she said were often quite irritating.
Su Xuanjing chuckled, her eyes darting left and right.
Suddenly leaning in close to her two brothers, she lowered her voice and said cautiously, "Big Brother, Second Brother, do you know what the Daoist methods we Cultivate every month are?"
"Father has never said, and he told us not to mention it to outsiders. Why? Have you discovered something?"
Su Xuanming glanced at Xiao Mei, who was standing dutifully at the courtyard gate, before responding in a low, reassured voice.
"Of course I've discovered something! You say we don't have Spiritual Roots, so why do we still Cultivate Daoist methods?"
Su Xuanjing put her hands on her hips, looking at her brothers as if they were fools. "You've practiced for so many years; haven't you noticed that after every session, your bodies feel different?"
Su Xuanheng: "..."
The two brothers looked at each other, both completely puzzled.
They were naturally curious about this Daoist method and had discussed and researched it in private, but as for their bodies feeling different like their third sister said, they had truly never noticed it.
"Oh! There really is!" Seeing their reaction, Su Xuanjing grew anxious. "Next time you Cultivate the Daoist method, remember to focus your mind and calm your Qi. You will definitely find that your bodies are a bit different!"
As for exactly what was different, she really couldn't say; it felt too profound and mysterious.
The younger sister's explanation was unclear, but neither of them mocked her or disbelieved her because of it.
Su Xuanming rested his chin on his hand and thought seriously. "Father is no ordinary Cultivator. His unwillingness to reveal it means this method is of extremely high value and will surely bring us surprises in the future."
Su Xuanheng thought again of his father's mysterious side and nodded in agreement. "If we can't figure it out, we won't think about it. The most important thing right now is to improve ourselves."
Thinking too much was not as good as practicing the sword!
Su Xuanjing rolled her eyes at that. Her eldest brother was a martial idiot; her second brother was the one with more of a brain.
...
The Su Family main hall.
Two middle-aged men sat on either side of the hall, sipping the tea the Su Family servants had brewed for them, clicking their tongues in praise of the 'good tea'.
At this moment, steady footsteps came from outside the hall. The two immediately stood up, smiling and cupping their fists.
"Hahahahaha! Long time no see, Head of the Su Family. You still look as refined as ever."
Liang Xiao had a grand and tall stature, a booming voice, and a thick beard covering his entire face, giving off a vibe full of Evil Qi.
In contrast, the Head of the Wang Family, Wang Songyue, was on the thinner side with an elegant temperament, looking like a cultured scholar.
"I've kept the two Family heads waiting."
Su Yang cupped his fists in return, his face beaming with a smile.
The territories of the Liang and Wang families were right next to the Su Family's. They saw each other often, and for the sake of Family peace, everyone's relationship had been relatively harmonious over the years.
But they weren't so close that two great Family heads would visit at the same time.
The Liang Family and Wang Family were not small families like the Li Family; both were among the Five Great Families of Qingyuan County!
Su Yang was also curious about what business these two had with him.
After a long exchange of pleasantries, the two finally couldn't help but state the purpose of their visit.
"Head of the Su Family, I wonder if you recognize this Medicinal Pill?"
Wang Songyue's smile was meaningful as he took a bottle of pills from his robe and gave it a gentle shake.
Without needing to open the bottle, Su Yang recognized it at a glance. This was a Tier 1 High Grade Primal Origin Pill, and it had come from his own hands!
"Interesting."
Su Yang's eyes narrowed slightly. Since the other party had brought this Medicinal Pill to the Su Family, it was obvious that his identity as an Alchemist had been exposed.
Although exposing his Alchemist identity was no problem now, it reflected from another angle that the information channels and networks of the Wang and Liang families were vast, enough to obtain information from Shopkeeper Cui of the Immortal Treasure Tower.
"Since you two already know, I'll frankly admit it. This pill was indeed refined by me."
Su Yang took a sip of tea and admitted it on the spot, not bothered to play along until they called him out.
"The Head of the Su Family is straightforward!"
Liang Xiao laughed loudly, seemingly particularly fond of this direct way of communicating.
"We won't beat around the bush either. Upon learning that the Head of the Su Family is the Alchemist who refined this High Grade Primal Origin Pill, we both rushed over without pause, hoping to establish a long-term cooperation with the Su Family."
"First, we wish to co-manage an Immortal Treasure Restaurant with the Su Family. Second, we'd like to ask the Head of the Su Family to help us refine several types of Medicinal Pills."
As he spoke, Liang Xiao took out three brown parchment scrolls from his robe and placed them gently on the table.
Su Yang made a casual gesture, and spiritual power pulled the parchment scrolls into his hand.
With a quick scan, it wasn't hard to recognize that these were three types of Medicinal Pills to assist Martial Artists in their Cultivation and breakthrough.
The bone strengthening pill could replace medicinal bath formulas, laying a solid Foundation for Early Stage Martial Artists.
The dragon blood pill could enhance the blood and Qi of Innate Martial Artists.
What surprised Su Yang the most was the obstacle breaking pill, which could allow top-tier first-rate Martial Artists to break through directly and become Innate Martial Artists!
If these three types of Medicinal Pills were produced in bulk, it would be possible to mass-produce Innate Realm Perfection Martial Artists!
No doubt, once these three Medicinal Pills hit the market, they would be snapped up by all Martial Artists in a scramble.
"The pill formulas are provided by my Liang Family, the pills will be refined by the Su Family, and then they will be auctioned and sold at the restaurant to attract customers," Liang Xiao said with a grin.
Wang Songyue nodded with a smile and picked up the thread. "Our Wang Family will provide the formulas for Immortal Treasure dietary supplements, mainly focusing on immortal wine brewed from spirit plant and various Yao Beast meat delicacies. When it comes to the best quality spirit plant in Qingyuan County, the Su Family is second to none!"
